“The Shadowheart Curse” is atmospheric. Italy’s cultural gravitas upon Adrianna’s arrival yields to the murky menace of abandoned and crumbling portions of her ancestral property that have been renovated with the intention of renting them to tourists.

I thoroughly enjoyed this outing by Karilyn Bentley. A little (okay, a lot) different than her saucy Gin from Bentley's Demon Huntress series, Adrianna still possesses the intelligence and strength I've come to expect from Bentley's heroines. I liked the slow burn unfolding of the romance and the discovery of secrets and truths. I was rooting for Luca from his first sentence. If you like or love paranormal romance of the ghost kind, you'll enjoy this read!

Adrianna has an interesting job: psychic medium, and moves from New York City to Italy after a traumatic experience, a mystery for readers. In Italy, a mill was found on Adrianna’s family’s property and turned into a bed and breakfast, and it is haunted by two very different “ghosts.”

Luca is a very attractive man from the year 1910 who is cursed into a ghost-like body. His brother Marco is scary and is trapped with him. Together, they lead a fascinating “life.” Little mysteries keep appearing and add interest to the story.

Luca is in a tricky position, and this is cleverly written. Luckily, Adrianna has the power to help him. Can he win her over? They grow closer through a series of unusual dates with remarkable backdrops. But how could they possibly have a future together? Readers will be left wondering and maybe slightly sad for their situation.

Luca must discover his brother’s dark plans to harm Adrianna, must find out his secrets before it’s too late. The danger escalates, creating great tension. We discover that Adrianna has other gifts, and it’s fun reading about her using them.

Adrianna asks Luca a difficult question, one he cannot take lightly. Turns like this in the story add excitement to an already entertaining tale and give it depth as well.

This is a gratifying paranormal romance that is sure to please readers of the genre with its lovable characters, creative situation, and interesting setting.

Adrianna Sinclair is a medium but after the scandal and death of one of her clients, she escapes New York for the ancestral property in Italy. She wants to hang up her psychic shingle and just be left alone. But two spirits won’t let her. One’s a demonic spirit who wants her gone while the other intrigues her. Luca is a gentleman in every sense of the word and when he takes her to one of his brother’s otherworldly parties, Luca shifts from an apparition to someone she can wrap her arms around. The more she’s around Luca, the more she falls for him. Can you truly fall for a ghost? In Adrianna’s case, it may be the key to solving Luca’s curse. But when she finds out the truth, will she abandon him or will she save his life?

The Shadowheart Curse is a familiar concept in paranormal romance but Karilyn Bentley puts a new twist on it. Filled with paranormal, mysterious and romantic elements, it captured my heart from the very first page. The descriptive narration swept me away to Italy and as I read, I experienced everything Adrianna saw, smelled and tasted. The supernatural elements were spot-on and very realistic. The danger the couple found themselves in ratcheted up my pulse and the ending was a complete surprise. It reads like a movie, which is great because it is turning into one (go to the author’s website for more details on that). Highly entertaining paranormal romance and one I can’t recommend enough!

After a client’s untimely death, medium Adrianna Sinclair flees New York to her family property in Italy. No more ghosts for her.
Until…. Luca Fausto cursed and trapped as a spirit because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It’s been a century since he was able to leave the Romani property Adrianne now inhabits.
Adrianne may be the answer he seeks to ending the curse, but will his demonic brother stand in the way?
The author has a flare for taking you into the scenes where you see, taste and smell everything from the wonderfully described food to the icky dank underground. The characters whisk you into their world and drama where you are rooting for them from beginning to end. Also you’ll hate the demonic creature hiding in the shadows trying to destroy any hope of happiness Luca and Adrianna have.
Can she help Luca? Will the demonic spirit’s plan for revenge intervene? You’ll have to read the book to discover the answers. I will tell you I enjoyed reading this entertaining book and highly recommend it. One other exciting aspect is this book will be made into a streaming movie mid 2020. We will get to see casting and the actual making of the movie. It will be interesting to see how the human/spirits are portrayed and how the ghostly underground parties are created. Will it come close to what each reader sees in their imagination as they read this book. We’ll have to wait and see. I’m looking forward to watching the movie.

Quick instalove. Adrianna is a psychic running from something unpleasant. She leaves New York behind her and heads to her ancestral home in Italy. While she’s there she meets Luca, a man accidentally cursed over a hundred years ago to live as a spirit.

The romance was very quick and very love/lust at first sight. I didn’t mind that so much though as the focus of the book was really Adrianna overcoming a traumatic event in her past and helping to banish a demonic spirit haunting the mill on her families land. Well written and nice quick low angst paranormal romance.

When Adrianna runs away to her family’s ancestral home in the Italian countryside, she wants to leave her work as a medium behind her in New York. What she doesn’t expect is to find a smoking hot Italian spirit named Luca who needs her help.
I really enjoyed this book very much. Karilyn Bentley created a vivid world and well-rounded characters. The story is mysterious, suspenseful, wonderfully romantic, and I didn’t want it to end.
