Every newly minted fitness professional should read this before hanging up their shingle as a fitness business. I think each fitness professional has to chart out their own personal path based on a variety of parameters like your upbringing, your attitude about fitness, what particular niche demographic appeals to you, what problem in fitness you want to solve. Sit down with yourself and identify those things first. Then read the book to get ideas on how to further those goals.
If you are not clear about yourself before reading this book or before embarking on a fitness business (or any business) it will make the business journey all the more difficult.
I like that the book tells you about free resources before you can actually afford a business coach but also to plan to have a business coach when you get your business income up and running.
As the author mentioned, it's not about telling you what to do. However, here are some fields that you can explore. And especially to be a great coach. Taking care of yourself mentally and physically, and having time to yourself, is key. As we are not machines, we don't have it all, but our obsession with learning and always being adaptable is key.
Opens one up to ideas and principles not thought of without experience. Especially the marketing ideas are applicable to many service oriented ventures, not just personal training.
Easy steps for success in what can be a very tough industry. It's easy to stray from the basics. I've trained for 10 years and am successful but this was a great refresher on what is important day I and day out. Integrity and bringing value to our clients.
Very good information and insights on the mistakes to avoid and how to be good at training clients. Has all the fundamentals required for a personal trainer.
