Simply speaking, a scaredy-cat shou transmigrated and had to think of a way to survive. He had a golden finger called Medicine Refining System, but unfortunately, he didn’t have the ingredients needed to refine medicine and level up.

A great young master to an Empire’s preeminent Clan had a super high IQ, but his talent for cultivation was low. Unfortunately, pill refiners were too hard to develop, and weren’t restricted to his personal service. But he could acquire plenty of ingredients.

Two people, one was sick and one had medicine. Therefore, the one who was sick kept the one who had medicine, and everyone was happy.

4/5 🌟

After a month of reading, I finally reached the end! This book has a total of 1085 chapters, one of the longest, if not THE longest danmei I've ever read thus far. This has 8 or 9 volumes in Chinese text and probably a lot more volumes when translated in English. This novel reminded me so much of The Legendary Master's Wife, not because of the storyline or character similarity, but because the plot of both novels are highly focused with pill refining and martial arts cultivation. I liked LMW a lot but I think I liked this one even better.

Both MC and ML has golden fingers with a very high potential than every guy in the room but it doesn't mean they're the strongest ones in every situation. It never felt that they are very overpowered without any chance of being defeated. There are a lot of times when they are in a hopeless situation, but their own constitution that they worked hard to achieve helped them turned disasters into their own advantage. I absolutely loved reading all their adventures, from being literally nothing to being at the highest position.

I've never been discouraged reading such a massive novel, especially when both the plot and the characters kept my attention the whole time. I've never been bored even once reading this novel. But with such a huge storyline, there tends to be some loopholes. The inconsistencies in the author's writing are apparent most of the time, especially with the characters' age and the timeline and it felt like the author always forgot the basic details of her own characters. There are also scenes that are a bit jarring to read at times. One example is when MC and ML was having a conversation at the top of a boulder but then the next scene they are sitting on the bed, with a continuous conversation, but without any indication that they moved.

I don't want to nitpick every single things I've found because despite everything, I enjoyed this a lot and I just let all inconsistencies pass over my head without criticizing every one of them. Those things are small details compared to the enormous storyline. But what I could never ignore is the rushed ending. This has over a thousand chapters and I never complained reading every single one of them. I would gladly accept a few more chapters for a proper conclusion. But the aftermath of a huge battle was crammed in less the five chapters! This has 1085 chapters and it ended with just five chapters. Reading up to this point, I wouldn't mind reading maybe 5 to 10 more chapters to wrap all the things up, but no. I was incredibly disappointed and underwhelmed with how it was concluded. The direction of the ending itself is not the problem because it was not a bad ending at all. The way the author chose to stuff all of it with just 5 chapters is the problem.

If it wasn't for the rushed ending, I could have given this a higher rating than this. But since I extremely enjoyed most of my reading experience with this novel, I also don't have the heart to rate this lower than 4 stars. I believe that those who loved LMW would also enjoy this. Still highly recommended, especially to those who loved cultivation danmei because this is a really good one. The MC and ML are also worth rooting for.

“I Have Medicine, System!” I’m surprised how much I liked this slow burn BL novel. It is 1085 chapters of steady cultivation adventures, medicine refinement and relationship building between the main couple, their friends and family. It was slow in the middle. But, the romance eventually happens and it’s sweet. The novel achieved its stride around two thirds of the way into it. Only the ending was anticlimactic and a abrupt. Worth reading once if one has the patience.
