This is a masterpiece of writing where one man, Georg Elser, pits himself against the might of the German war machine. Throughout the length of the novel there is tension and one cannot help but feel empathy for the key character as he struggles to achieve his goal. The pace of the novel is excellent and the dialogue brings the characters to life. It is books like this that one really enjoys because the writer has a gift for writing and story-telling. There are too few authors of this calibre. Highly recommended.
