Tldr: the author has some talent and I like the idea of the main relationship plot, but the drama was too excessive and the sex scene language terrible.

Oh my good god drama llama. It took me a bit to get into this. Anything with first person narrative is a crapshoot. Also there was a lot of unnecessary detail dumped on us on the first couple chapters. I did get in a groove for a bit but everything in here was kind of a mixed bag. I loved Paige when she was being feisty and in her element, not so much when she was being reactionary and letting one cheating man ruin her whole life. I liked Harrison's softer, poetic side. But I felt like he has some potentially scary temper issues as he's quick to raise his voice over things then get upset when she is somewhat scared of that. Both the relationship and external plot are balls to the wall dramatic. Neither really worked for me. The relationship felt very high school. Fight and break up, kiss and make-up but never actually discuss things like two grownups each with a successful business. The external drama was almost comical it was so wild, and thoroughly unnecessary as the relationship stuff gave us plenty of plot if done properly. The romantic development was so stop and go nothing felt genuine and I had to skim the sex scenes because the dialogue was so bad porn dialogue. The author also had this thing about putting words or acronyms in the book that I couldn't figure out at all wish was slightly annoying. If it had been toned down more I may have read the sequel but with so many books on my list I didn't see enough in this one to justify another

Meh.. 2.5 but rounding up

Dialogue was just too cheesy and unrealistic sounding to me. Some of the sex scenes also made me cringe, largely because of the dialogue being used. I never skim or skip pages in a book, but I did with this one after the 60% mark. The characters were all right. while I didn't hate them, I also didn't feel any real connection to them. Just didn't click with the book or the author.
I did like the plot overall. I really liked certain aspects of the relationship with her ex towards the end and the direction the author decided to take that. Was unique and mature and the first time I'd read something like that (trying not to spoil here). Was refreshing. I liked the whole idea of online dating as I haven't come across many books involving that. Obviously many others loved the book, so, you have nothing to lose giving it a shot. Pretty quick read.
Also... AMAZING cover. Just thought I'd toss that in since it was the sole reason I even grabbed this book in the first place.

Excellent read *****

This story is the first instalment of the working girl series and what a great start. I loved every minutes and At one point I couldn't put it down. From the moment I started reading I was drawn to Paige story after she finds out she was cheated on by her husband and bumps into Harrison and there's that instant connection and sexual energy between each other that Paige try's to ignore. her best friend Jodie enters her into from cupid and things go on from there what with her ending up having to work with Harrison. Things escalate from there and all I can say is wow I loved it. The character that you instantly love especially Paige gay best friend Chaz who you can't help but love and the Alfa male in Harrison with his don't mess with me vibe but finds his match with Paige. Her best friend Jodie who would do anything for her and I'm looking forward to the next book as I need more.

If you have not started this book, you are missing out. So it contains heart ache, depression, a little adventure, crazy people and probably more. So we have Paige and she has everything she could need. She is an alpha female and you see her possessiveness right off the bat. Unfortunately she listens to her gut and see something that turns her world upside down. Then her friend tells her about a dating site that has been really successful. So she signs her up. Now lets meet Harrison, super hot and smart. He was drawn to Paige before but something happens that turns him away. He is also has a side of him that no one sees. However, he still crushes on her. Then a whole lot of craziness starts to happen and it is affecting her. What will happen? Will Paige get a second chance at happily ever after? This is definitely a book to read. You don't want to miss it.

I really enjoyed this book, CY does a fantastic job at drawing you in and I devoured it in one evening. I found myself completely invested and even though I figured out the baddie before it was revealed I was way off when it came to the reason and what would happen. I love this spin on a dating site and I love the relationships, both friendship and romantic. Well worth a read and a brilliant, feel good story.
I almost gave 4 stars because of a few grammatical and editing errors but it doesn’t take away from the story, so why should it lost a star. Well done CY can’t wait to read Brooklyn’s and I hope Chaz gets one too.

When the dating site gets is right! 👌💘🥰

Loooved this book! My favorite parts were the heartfelt messages back and forth between our leads while getting to know each other without having any clue who they are;in fact they met each other a year prior and their impressions back then were not that great which make this even better! Destiny has a funny way of showing a new path to love! it has all the feels of hot romance, mouthwatering scenes alot of feels 💕! i read this with my kindle unlimited.

I actually loved this book. It was very hard to put down and I would often fall asleep at night reading it and putting my own work aside to lose myself in this world. I loved how easily I connected with the main characters. I could feel Paige's pain and happiness all throughout the book. I was rooting for Paige and Harrison from the beginning so I am glad the book took the path it did. A nice, steamy romance is always a good idea. I was sad to see it end and absolutely can not wait to read the next installment.

This is a new genre for Ms Jones and she nailed it! I loved the idea of the dating app that forces you to get to know your match before you ever meet. The two main characters had such chemistry. And the side characters were total scene stealers ( I'm talking about you, Chaz)! I loved the little plot twists and while I suspected the big one, I still loved it. I'm looking forward to more books in this series!

So good

Wow...this is CY Jones' first contemporary and I absolutely loved it. It was light and refreshing. You can feel the emotions coming off the page. Paige goes through alot in this story, like any and every woman in life does and Harrison screams hot. From Cupid is a must read and fitting that it releases on Valentine's Day. I loved all the characters and can't wait to see where Brooklyn's story takes us next.

Really Enjoyed reading this.
Paige has her life in tatters., after becoming a maid of honour and participating in her best friends wedding, it all goes down hill from there. With the support of her friends, can she make it through, or does an online friend help her more than she could know.
Lovely story, some parts could use more editing for grammar and punctuation but it does not distract from the story, overall this is a lovely read.

From Cupid Cy Jones

Do love house flippers?? Do you love alpha men with steamy sex? If you answer was yes to either of these questions than you love from Cupid book 1 in the working girl series by Cy Jones. Paige made me laugh so hard with all her snark and sarcasm. Harrison is supper sexy and just as romantic. If that didn't sell you Chaz and the secret stalker will for sure.

Loved this book! It’s not RH which sometimes it’s nice to see different things from an author. I loved the MC personality and I loved the direction it takes from her ex to her new bf. Hell I didn’t even mind the fast timeline between dating and marriage. He was alpha enough that it totally worked. Definitely a good read, this author always puts out top notch books.

Perfect

A sweet contemporary romance!! I love this side of Cy's style. The characters were perfect for each other. I loved Harrison's alpha complex and how Paige is such a sweetheart. The dating app and letters to each other were romantic and that was one of my favorite things I liked about this.

One of my favorite books of this year. Paige is like a Phoenix rising from the ashes of her destroyed life her ex husband caused. She starts getting her life back together with help from her friends. Life is good until a crazy person starts destroying and scaring Designers away . Want more then read this book.

Holy $h!t this book was AMAZING!!! From Cupid is a contemporary stand-alone. It was so different to what Ms. Jones typically writes and I just flat out devoured every bit of it. I was up all night finishing From Cupid because I couldn’t put it down. The characters are fun and real, the highs and lows, the love and heartbreak, the amazing bestie, the ex husband’s truth bomb, the stalker!! Just EVERYTHING about this story is perfection. Great job and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
