In the 1960s he traveled throughout India as a public speaker and was a vocal critic of socialism, Mahatma Gandhi, and Hindu religious orthodoxy.
Rajneesh emphasized the importance of meditation, mindfulness, love, celebration, courage, creativity and humor—qualities that he viewed as being suppressed by adherence to static belief systems, religious tradition and socialization.
In advocating a more open attitude to human sexuality he caused controversy in India during the late 1960s and became known as "the sex guru".
In 1970, Rajneesh spent time in Mumbai initiating followers known as "neo-sannyasins". During this period he expanded his spiritual teachings and commented extensively in discourses on the writings of religious traditions, mystics, and philosophers from around the world. In 1974 Rajneesh relocated to Pune, where an ashram was established and a variety of therapies, incorporating methods first developed by the Human Potential Movement, were offered to a growing Western following. By the late 1970s, the tension between the ruling Janata Party government of Morarji Desai and the movement led to a curbing of the ashram's development and a back taxes claim estimated at $5 million.
In 1981, the Rajneesh movement's efforts refocused on activities in the United States and Rajneesh relocated to a facility known as Rajneeshpuram in Wasco County, Oregon. Almost immediately the movement ran into conflict with county residents and the state government, and a succession of legal battles concerning the ashram's construction and continued development curtailed its success.
In 1985, in the wake of a series of serious crimes by his followers, including a mass food poisoning attack with Salmonella bacteria and an aborted assassination plot to murder U.S. Attorney Charles H. Turner, Rajneesh alleged that his personal secretary Ma Anand Sheela and her close supporters had been responsible. He was later deported from the United States in accordance with an Alford plea bargain.[
After his deportation, 21 countries denied him entry. He ultimately returned to India and a revived Pune ashram, where he died in 1990. Rajneesh's ashram, now known as OSHO International Meditation Resort and all associated intellectual property, is managed by the Zurich registered Osho International Foundation (formerly Rajneesh International Foundation). Rajneesh's teachings have had a notable impact on Western New Age thought, and their popularity has increased markedly since his death.

ظاهر الكتاب يوحي بالملل، يعكس عن صورة تحمل كلامً يردده كثيرون، لكن ما اكتسبته بتجربة قراءته، كان عميقاً جداً، مع كل بذرة من بذور الحكمة، كنت في سجال مع الكاتب، مرة أنتصر ومرة لا، وفي المرة لا ، لم تكن الهزيمة لي، بل التوافق بيننا .. ألخص ما خرجت به في نقاط:
١- الحياة والموت، مفردتان تعرفان بعضهما، هناك حياة اذن هناك موت .. ومن يفترض غير هذا .. يخادع نفسه ليس الا.
موت الجسد واقع لا محالة، اما عن مايحرك هذا الجسد فعلمه عند الله.
٢- على النفس البشرية أن لاتنسى نصيبها من الإنعزال عن كل مايجعلها مشوشة، مقيدة و هشة لامعنى لها.
٣- الأصلُ في الإنسان ثابت لايتغير، وواجبه أن يحافظ عليه بكل ما أوتي من قوة ! فمن اهتز اصله اهتز كله وضعف.
٤- أن تعرف، أي أن تكون قادراً على أن تزيح ماتراكم من الخارج أن تملك الجرأة على أن تُغير سير خطواتك، أن تُنتج لا أن تكسب.
٥- قيل: " الصبر مفتاح الفرج " كلنا ينتظر بابه أن يُفتح، الفرق أن المفاتيح تصل أولاً لأولئك الذين صبروا وهم في رضىً وحب.
٦- الوحدة داء ودواء، اجلس وحيداً لفترة ثم انظر لنفسك .. مالذي تعافى فيك و مالذي مرض؟
٧- منذ زمن قديم، والإنسان في سعي دائم يبحث عن الخلود ! متجاهلاً كونه قد جاء من العدم .. العدم ليس فراغاً العدم حياة، لكنها مُختلفة تمامً عن الحياة المادية الجسدية.
٨- نحنُ لسنا أجسادًا تجرها عربة الحياة حيثما شائت .. نحن من يتولى القيادة هنا، نحن الشاهِد والمُشاهَد.
٩- انا ما أحمله في فراغي، لست ما كونتهُ فوضى الحياة.
١٠- في اللحظة التي تشعر فيها أن كل شيء أصبح سريعاً، غاضباً، مُربكاً و مضطربًا ! توقف هناك .. عند تلك اللحظة تمامً، اصمت وانصت وانظر .. سترى الصورة واضحة جلية ! كلُ شيء يسبح فيكَ انت، كل شيء يبدأ منك وينتهي اليك : " أَتَزعُمُ أَنَّكَ جُرمٌ صَغير
وَفيكَ اِنطَوى العالَمُ الأَكبَرُ " علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه.
١١- الذين عرفوا الله، عرفوا كلّ شيء ..
١٢- أسقط رغبتك في الظهور يكن حوارك ملهمًا.
مُتجاوزاً اسقاطات الكاتب الناتجة عن معتقده، كتاب لطيف يُرافقكَ بخِفه ♥️.

بذور الحكمة، الهندي أوشو، ترجمة عبدالوهاب المقالح، دار مدارك للنشر، بيروت، 2019
أثرى الفيلسوف الهندي أوشو العالم بآرائه وأفكاره حول الإنسان، العالم والخالق، وحاول أوشو في هذا الكتاب أن يضيف شيئًا إلى ذلك المجال، ولكنني وجدتُ أن من قاموا بجمع أقزواله وحكاياته قد يقط منهم الكثير، فهذا الكتاب – بالنسبة لكتبه الأخرى كالإبداع – لا يمثل النهج الذي اتبعه أوشو، بل أراه عملية تجميعية قام بها الناشرون.
كما سقط المترجم في عدَّة عثرات حينما يتعلق السياق بذكر الخالق، فأشو (الهندوسي) لا يمكنه أن يقول إن الله تعالى هو خالق الكون، فهل مصداقية الترجمة تسقط أمام أيديولوجية المترجم والناشر على حدٍّ سواء.
وهنا بعض مما جاء في الكتاب:
- المجهول يثير فينا الخوف، ولأننا لا نعرف ماهية الموت فإننا نخافه .. ولكن الموت لا وجود له.
- الدين يشدد على الخوف من النار، وعلى حب الله، ولكن الحقيقة تقول إن الحب لا يجتمع مع الخوف، التظاهر بالحب هو ما يجتمع مع الخوف.
- أيمكن للوحدة أن تقضي بالإنسان إلى الجنون؟ كيف؟ لماذا؟
- الجنون موجود فينا بحقيقته، ووجودنا بين الناس يخفيه. الوحدة تكشفه فحسب. يحاول الإنسان أن يخفي قلقه وتوتره من خلال تواجده في الزحام، محاولة منه لعدم مواجهة الجنون وجهًا لوجه.

يقول المترجم الرائع:عبدالوهاب المقالح في مقدمته لهذا الكتاب :
" ازعم مطمئنًا أن كتاب اوشو هذا يعد اهم كتبه كلها والتي تبلغ ٦٠٠ عنوان، انه خلاصة تجربته الفكرية، وجوهر مايدعو إليه وينادي به، وهذا لا يعني أبدًا التقليل من أهمية الكتب الأخرى التي هي في حقيقة الأمر أحاديث وإجابات على أسئلة قاصديه حول أمور عديدة شخصية وعامة، لكنها تمس حياة أي قارئ في الصميم."
فعلاً وجدت الكتاب كماقيل بالمقدمة تماماً
فبين ثنايا الكتاب تلتمس بذور الحكمة التي بدورك يجب عليك ان تعتني بها وتراقب نموها بهدوء وصبر شديد وبكل ماتستطيع عليه من تأمل ورياضات روحية وتزيل كل مايعيق نموها نحو أوج الإستنارة والعرفان

كنت في ضيافة أوشو(المتصوف الهندي ) لأربعة أيام
عشت تجربة روحية عميقة في صفحاته ال٢٠٠
تمكنت جيدا من الإقلاع بخفة عن كل ما يتنافى مع الدين.
لم انجح بتصنيف رسالته كعقيدة أو فلسفة لكني وجدت نفسي بإني لا أملك القدرة على اختصاره بسطر !
كعادتي أصوم عن البحث عن الكاتب لغاية ما أنهي كتابه.. لأجد بإن هذا الكاتب يسمى زوربا البوذا معلم الجنس، وهو لا يغضب من هذا اللقب.

لم أستطع إكمال الكتاب. النص عبارة عن فلسفة معقدة لا تساعد القارئ على التوصل لأي استنتاجات بل تجعله يتخبط يمنة و يسرة.
