Two become three. Lies, lust and betrayal. Who will fall first?

It started when I chose to remain with them. The ones who took me from my life and changed all the rules.

The chains binding me to my family loosened their hold. Little did I know that by taking me, Quinn and his friends began the long process of setting me free. And even as I got closer to the boys, the past always held us back. Keeping our feelings at bay.

The questions plagued me. Where did my loyalties lie? Who could I trust? And the biggest one of all. Could I really go against everything I knew to be with the four people who kept me captive to use me against my father?

Our secrets brought us closer. Our lies tore us apart. And it became crystal clear that every decision you make in life comes at a price.

A dark why choose (MMFMM) romance series set in Sarah Bailey's Dark Universe with cliffhangers and a HEA in the final book.

This is a DARK romance and therefore comes with a content warning. Please see authors website for full details.

Well shoot. I’m clearly obsessed with this group at this point. Book two dives a little bit deeper into the guys’ pasts and we start to see how they all came to be together.

At the end of Book One, Ash made it clear she wants more with all of the guys. And yeah, this book did not disappoint. Quinn struggles somewhat with the thought of Ash with Xav or any of the others, but he’s realizes that this is what she wants. Ash with Quinn and Xav is..surprising to say the least. Quinn still is his dominating self and Xav keeps it interesting. Ash still struggles with her relationships with Rory and Eric. They seem to make some progress then one thing after another happens. More of the kidnapping plan and plot to take down Frank is revealed and some key players will surprise you.

This ending is not messing around! Ash finally stands up to her father expecting the boys to have her back. But she’s sorely mistaken. I can’t wait to see how they all come back from this one..

This series is just getting better and better the more I read. I have gotten so attached to Ash and her men. Quinn and his rules, discipline and soft spot for Ash is learning to relax a bit more when it comes to their personal relationships.

Xavier and his jokes lighten up the darkness that seems to be permanently surrounding them. If only he could get his head out his own bum and realize what else is going on around him. Like his life long friend pining away with his feelings for him.

Said life long friend – Eric is a really great and strong character. He is a little like Ash’s anchor. Keeping her grounded by kind of being the only one to not instantly lusting after her (even though he does it secretly)

Then last but most certainly not least – the very mysterious Rory that is just the presence in the back ground. The support that Ash needs, the ear to listen when she needs someone to vent to and a shoulder to cry on.

I love these books because even though she does not have a physical relationship with all the boys to start off with she still has a very emotional relationship with them. Each one giving her something that no one else can give. This series is exactly why I love RH novels. I cannot wait to get further into this series and see how her relationships with the rest of the men develop.

Defied: The Devil’s Syndicate Book Two by Sarah Bailey picks right up where book one left off (duh). With that clarification out of the way, in the first installment crime kingpin heiress Ash Russo was abducted and held captive by The Syndicate Boys, business rivals and all around enemies to the Russo family. With an astounding level of deep exposition and sexual happenstance, Ash is falling in love with not only the ring leader of this little conclave, but maybe there’s something brewing with the rest of the boys as well. Each of these men, (and especially Ash) all have a dark past, and the five unique ways they cope with their issues blend into some very interesting interpersonal developments. All of this sexual energy flying unabated, and there’s still the matter of a floundering criminal empire, as new problems arise with each turn of the leaf. Gosh, with all this business to attend to I sure hope they still have time to fuck…

It’s not quite accurate to say each novel has a full “focus” on a particular character, as all five main characters have solid roles and developments, but Defied can certainly be best understood through the lens of Xavier. While book one’s primary male Quinn wanted you to think of the devil himself, Xavier’s demeanor is a little more…well he’s a lot of things, but I’m going to settle on “horny.” With a brazen sexual appetite, combined with unquestioned bisexuality, things are only going to get more complicated as the characters continue to open up. Ash and Xavier are developing feelings independent from Quinn and this is accelerating at a pace that no one in the house could keep up with if they tried. While Ash needs Quinn’s intensity and discipline, she further still needs Xavier’s laid back sense of humor and raw sexual energy. You’ll see and hear a lot of the word “need” as opposed to “want” as the characters aren’t copulating out of bored horniness, it’s a lot deeper than that. Sexual moments aren’t created solely to fuck the pain away (although there’s still plenty of that, don’t worry), but as an exploration of an unintended polyamorous household.

Most of the tension in book two comes from what we learn about the characters as opposed to criminal activity, at least before the novel’s conclusion. This development isn’t just the genre-typical justification of why the bad boys are so bad either. I genuinely choked up a couple times learning about how this unique “family” came to be in equal parts heart felt compassion and unspeakable violence depending on the backstory. It’s easy to see why Quinn became the ring leader, but also why each of the “brothers” are so important to each other. Ash’s appearance serves as the activating agent, seemingly bringing everyone’s emotion, as well as their baggage, right to the forefront.

Verdict: Defied by Sarah Bailey is a great second chapter to the unique reverse harem saga of the former captive turned lover, and the men that now can’t live without her. While the sexual content is hot as always with bdsm, romance, and comfort zone expansion all rolled up into one, the reasons behind this activity are what’s going to sell this story. The polyamory is believable and will give the reader a wonderful tingly feeling when forced to balance the physical and emotional factors of the shared relationship. This fucked up family doesn’t want all this to happen, they need it, and as such the cliffhanger ending wouldn’t be understood without that consideration. The plan is in action, but at what cost to their happiness? Don’t mind me, I’ll just be a shaking mess until book three comes out, and that’s a wonderful thing.

Special thanks to Sarah Bailey for providing an advance review copy of Defied to TehBen.com. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Whyyy such a cliffhanger???

Need. Love. Betrayal. I knew I shouldn’t have trusted them with my heart.

Okay…….... Deep breath in……..... Deep breath out........

WHAT ON EARTH!?!? I am not alright before you even ask. That cliffhanger said, “GOT YA”. I’m so salty right now. This book had me by my hair (because I can’t say the real phrase) and didn’t let go until now. I’m supposed to work tomorrow but I have to know what happens!!!

I still am in love with Ash. She is laying the law down with Quinn. She is giving in to her fantasy. She wants them all. I love how beautiful her character is. I can’t wait to see what else she goes through and overcomes.

Ahh, the guys. Quinn has turned the HEAT ALL THE WAY UP! He is scorching in this book. Especially in those scenes with Ash and Xavier. Daaaaannngggg! I cannot tell you enough how much I love all these guys. I cannot wait for Eric to give in and I cannot wait to see Rory come through!! I love that they all bring something to the table that the other doesn’t. They are now introduced into my imaginary harem.

If you haven’t figured it out by now, I LOVED THIS BOOK! If you haven’t already read the first one, why don’t you do so now?? You will not be disappointed! I don’t know if I can sleep tonight thinking about the next one!

This is a book that is addictive, compulsive, and emotional, a series that leaves you wanting more.
by sewsummore

Book two in the series, Defied is about being true to yourself, of taking what you want regardless of the consequences. Ash had had enough about being controlled by an uncaring parent, living with her four men taught her that, they cared about her and she more than cared about them. No, she more than cared she loved them and, she would protect and care for them as long as they would let her. I found this book compulsive reading, caring was sharing and for Quinn, it was about giving what the person you love needs. Ash needed Rory, Eric, and Xav, each of them bought something different to their relationship, and he would share her if that was what it took to make her happy. I hated that there is another cliffhanger at the end of this book. The drama of the last couple of pages in this book just blew me away and now I have to wait for the next book's release. This is a series that is addictive, compulsive, and emotional, a series that leaves you wanting more.

Ash is trying to figure out her feelings for Xavier, Rory, Eric and Quinn. Each one is so different so you have to walk into each situation differently. When you are kidnapped by four men, you don't expect to fall for any of them. Yet here we are and she's slowly falling hard. Being away from her father made her realize that she's not like him and refuses to be. She wants her own life with her boys. Will she stand up to her father and make her demands clear or will she change her mind seeing him again?

That first kiss is phenomenal! I've been waiting so long for that. Quinn's reaction was expected at first then not what I expected afterwards. Her punishment was a little too much and Eric was so sweet. Julian is a horrible and deserves to be in jail. After Xav got that phone call destroyed me. When Ashley found out what Eric has been hiding definitely hurt. Viktor and Isabella should be ashamed. Her truth was beautiful to hear. The ending made me so angry. Sarah made me cry again. I shouldn't think that I won't cry at some point in all her stories because I think I'll be fine then I'm not. What a way to captivate us all.

The book picks up right where the last book “Deceived” left off. You need to read that book first.

Ash gets closer to all 4 of the guys. You learn some heartbreaking background information about the guys lives growing up and how they have been blood brothers ever since. Ash has revealed what it’s like growing up in the Russo family and the guys feel for her and want to protect her. For the first time in Ash’s life she wants something for her self. The steam and chemistry is so hot in this book. Quinn and Ash are getting closer. Xav and Ash have formed a special caring bond, Ash is breaking through Rory’s tough quiet exterior, and Eric is last to start falling to. Ash cares so much about these guys. When a Russian Bratva finds out that the guys have Ash, that changes things. The Russian tells Ash’s mother who proceeds to tell Ash’s ruthless father who wants her back. I cannot wait to read the next book to see what the guys do next to fight for the girl they care about.

The Devils Syndicate 😈
Authour: Sarah Bailey

"Her words were like a fucking taunt. Challenging me to follow her down the rabbit hole into oblivion."

Hate. Lust. Love. Mafia reverse harem sign me up!

I love anything Sarah writes and this is no exception. I couldn't get enough of how this story was written it keeps you hooked from start to finish.

The broken mafia princess does her father's bidding until four men take her away from the only life she knew. How is it her kidnappers showing her the life she's been missing?

The slow-burn romance between these characters is to die for. Each character had a lot to work through to finally accept their feelings for Ash. Ash also had a lot of souls searching to figure out because like she said it's not normal to fall so hard for the men that kidnapped her. The mafia drama, the laughter, the alpha male anger, the lust, the secrets, the lies, the hate and lots of love and you have yourself a pretty interesting romance between five people. Ash, Quinn, Xavier, Eric and Rory took me on quite the adventure of emotions throughout this story. Let's just say this queen found her kings.

Ohhhhhhhhh thisssss boooooook. So much steam. So many palpitations. So much drama. So much EVERYTHING.

If you were sceptical at all about how Ash and these boys would make their relationship work, you'll understand after reading this book.

Each of the guys play a role in Ash's life. Each guy drives you crazy with their stubborness/oblivious brains/dark past trauma. There's more insight into their past which is important for us as readers. We want to be able to understand these guys, trust in them, emphasize, cry, laugh, swoon. And it's all there.

Yeah, so I did lose my head over one character's behaviour. (Side note: this happens to me a lot with these boys) and whilst Quinn irked me in book 1, I found myself warming to him in this one and feeling annoyed at Xav! My head has been through it, I'm telling you.

But the build up to the cliffhanger ending was top notch. As always. This book was intense and it's going to get even better!

Wow... just wow.

I’m not even sure how to put into words the last few hours of my life while I sat and read this book. I devoured it like a starved person needing more. So much suspense, love and heartache all rolled into one. The worst part of this book is going to be waiting for the next one. In Defied the characters you have already grown to love explore feelings of desire, hope and even sadness on a whole new level.

I am simply amazed at how attached I am to each of them. This is book 2 in a reverse harem storyline that’s none like I read before. Bit by bit each of Ash’s men are coming around to their need of her, their love of her. All this happens while they each face their own struggles and demons of the past. It’s an amazing read and I feel lucky to have experienced such an amazing story.

Truths are revealed like an onion being peeled

Defied is the second book in The Devil's Syndicate series and continues the story of Ash and her four kidnappers/men - Quinn, Xavier, Eric and Rory. This book picks up where from the cliffhanger ending in Deceived and ends with it's own cliffhanger.
In Defied the four men are further "exposed" as some things come out about each. Ash makes tells a truth to Xavier and boy do things get burning hot and super steamy from there with she and each of the men. There is also the continuing story of her father and the men which adds to the depth of the developing relationship between the five of them.
I enjoyed this fast-paced and packed part of the story and look forward to reading the next in the series.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Oh my! I love this series, this book continues the story right from where it ended in the first book, Deceived. This is a serie so you need to read the first book.

All I can say is that I love this, yes I blushed and I giggled but it is very good series and I like how in this book you do get to know Quinn, Xavier, Eric and Rory much better. Their stories are deeper than you realize and so messed up. These four men have such a strong friendship and so much trust in each other. But things do get a bit heated when Quinn realize that he isn't the only one that wants Ashleigh, cause he thinks that she is only his girl. But she wants so much more.

I'm not gonna spoil anything, I will say that if you read it you should be 18+ cause it is steamy and spicy. Well, now I am off to read the next book.

These MEN 😍😍😍

5/⭐️ • 3/🌶

The story line that kicked off in the first book continued in this second one building with each uncovered lie. However, I think this book was more crucial in defining the budding relationships that were forming and uncovering in the first book. This book was more about pushing boundaries and beginning of healing. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Ash. She continues to find her strength in this book while continuing to be vulnerable. She continues to learn more about herself while figuring out the unconventional feelings she has for her four men.

Quinn and Xav continue to top tier men that provide ash with what she needs. They’re strong, dominating, unwavering, and yummy.

Rory and Eric continue to break my heart and I pray they find peace with the rest of the dynamic.

This is book two in The Devil's Syndicate series. Ash's story continues so you will need to read this series in order. Ash is in a precarious position where she is unsure who to trust. She also is changing, the ties that bind her with her family are loosening. This is a very complex relationship between Ash and her boys - Quinn, Xavier, Eric and Rory. But if she is not ready to let them go.....its wrong as she was their prisoner and revenge for her father. The story continues to evolve as these characters navigate their worlds and feelings. As always, a few twists and turns will keep everyone on their toes. Enjoy!

I’m really loving this series. The FMC, Ash, is finding her backbone and I’m LIVING for it. Her men are all giving her the freedom that she’s been unknowingly craving her whole life… and in the process they’re helping her find out who she truly is outside of her father’s large shadow.

AND THE SECRETS! 👌

I swear… just when I think I have an idea where something is going, it completely takes a right turn. Then little juicy secrets come out and they seem mild, but you just know it’s going to be something big later in the series. Just… I absolutely love it.

All the missed opportunities with Eric are making me want to throw my damn Kindle… I need that man in her harem already because he’s just a bundle of firewood more than ready to be LIT UP 🔥🔥

Things definitely heat up even more in this book as situations start to change, attitudes shift, and (some) truths are told. The drama and angst are major plot contributors in this story and the emotional turmoil will wrap you in knots. This book, literally, picks up right where the first book ended after Ash’s revelation to Xavier and it starts with his POV from her admission and oh, does it get steamier and more complicated from there. Ash, Quinn, and Xavier work to find a new normal, Eric and Rory both have a few shocking reveals they have to muddle through and we get to learn more background on the guys, some of which is really heartbreaking. All of their relationships are still changing and adjusting as they work together toward their goal – following through with Quinn’s ultimate plan. There is so much going on, this book definitely keeps you on your toes and keeps you guessing. There are several twists and turns that grab you and the ending – the cliffhanger – will twist your heart and steal your breath. I am still shaking my head, ready to get my hands on the next book in the series.

*I received an arc of this book from the author and I am voluntarily providing my honest review. If you like dark, twisty tales, full of drama, angst, and major steam…this is definitely for you. *This series also needs to be read in order to understand the storyline and characters.

This is book two of the Devil’s Syndicate series and it definitely didn’t disappoint. This book picks up where the last one left off. Once I started reading this story, I was hooked from the very first page....it is freaking ahmazing!! The hotness factor definitely picks up in this book, it was steaming! Ash and her four men are still forming their relationship and I love watching it develop and grow. We learn more background on the guys, which is totally heartbreaking. This is such an incredible book full of drama, angst, twists and turns, and steam that is off the charts. There is a cliffhanger ending, and wow!! A definite must read and I can’t wait for the next book in the series!!

These are not standalone books so if you haven't started "The Devil's Syndicate" series yet, grab book one, "Deceived", and then jump on this one. "Defied" picks up exactly where "Deceived" left off and oh WOW. Ash admits to Xavier she wants to be with all four of them and off we go to the races. There is a rollercoaster ride of emotions with several twists and turns in the plot. With each bit of information we get, more questions arise. As their relationships change with each new revelation they become closer and closer. The buildup is intense and kept me flipping pages quickly until BAM … holy moly at the cliffhanger. Now I'm "Derailed" immediately to see what comes next!

This book has me torn... it’s hard to give a “stolen” or “bought” MFC as a plot over 4 stars for me, but the character development behind everything made loads of sense... despite how messed up it is. There’s SO much packed into one book: lies, deception, passion, lust, love.... all the things!

...And that cliffhanger!!

Is there such a word or phrase called a “cliff-hangover” because if I don’t read the next book, I’ll have it!

Even crazier: I was planning on reading another book between the next in the series so I could get an emotional reprieve! Dang it Sarah Bailey! *shakes fist* LOL!

This series is getting better and better!
Book 2 and I was hooked from the very first chapter.
Defied was so HOT!!! Geeeez! The steam level of this book was off the charts hot.
The relationships between Ash and the 4 men are still forming and I love watching their relationships blossom.
Not only is there some serious heat, there is plenty of angst and as we learn more about the guys, we also learn about their pasts which are absolutely heartbreaking.
That ending was too much!! I need book 3 asap!!!
Such a good series so far!

Stop!
If you have not read Deceived first you’re missing a very large..... um... part of this story.

I just had to to post this review.
I took me a couple of try’s to finish this book. I’m extremely glad I did.
The chemistry of Ash with Quinn, Xavier, Eric and Rory. Will definitely melt your device.

I’m SOOO-OOOO looking forward to seeing what’s going to happen next.

Defied is the second book in The Devil's Syndicate series written by Sarah Bailey. It continues the story of Ash who has decided to stay with her captors (Xavier, Quinn, Eric, and Rory) instead of returning to her family. The novel reveals many secrets and gives the reader a glimpse of the background stories of the men. This book is full of sexual encounters and ends with a cliffhanger leading to the next book in the series entitled Derailed.

This is a good addition to the "Devil's Syndicate" series. It's the second installment and they should be read in order. It's a dark, dangerous and enthralling reverse harem style story. Four men, Rory, Quinn, Xavier and Eric, take Ash from her home. This begins their journey and things definitely begin to warm up in this one. It's does end with a cliffhanger but it's a very addictive read that I am really enjoying. This is full of angst, secrets revealed, steamy, passion and fantastic twists. This one definitely pulls are your heart strings. I cannot wait to read more!

This is the second book in The Devil's Syndicate series and, the continuation of Ashley, Quinn, Xavier, Eric and Rory's story. Now that Ashley has the choice to stay with her captures, or return to her father, Ashley must decide who she wants in her future. This was a great read. the characters have lots of chemistry, and their story kept me engaged! This was dramatic, emotional, raw, gritty, dark, steamy, intense, mysterious, and suspenseful. I can't wait to read the next book!

Her and Xavier get it on and then almost right away the first 2 boys and her do a scene since she wants to share. In this book she defines what each boy gives her in a relationship. Warned to be wary of Rory. She is confiding in Eric. She finds out that Eric loves X and ends up running to Rory and he shows a little bit of his sexual tastes. She was a little dominant with E. At the end she tells Eric that she wants more with all the guys and then they let her believe that she is being ripped away from them and going back to her father.

Another great book!

This is the second book in “The Devil’s Syndicate“ series. I loved this one even better than the first. The first books at the stage, but this one actually starts filling in some of the pieces of the story, the backgrounds of the guys and the main character, Ash. I loved the storyline, I loved the backstory, and this book has spice. There’s still so much more that I want to have happen in this series, and I’m glad that there’s a couple of more books to be read. Hopefully they will fill in the blanks even more. I highly recommend this book!
