The guinea pig is a unique and endearing small animal with an intriguing history. This book is a practical resource to help the new owner develop the best care for his or her cuddly docile pet.
I read this to learn about our new pet, which I knew nothing about. There was some good information about what to feed them, and just basic knowledge about how they should be acting, etc. It made me a little nervous about needing a Veterinarian, but most guinea pig owners I've talked to have never taken their pig to a vet.
Thank goodness for these non-fiction books at the library to help kids and adults learn.
More like 1 and a half stars. So not impressed with this book. We've owned guinea pigs for almost 14 years and what they have taught me.....definitely some inaccuracies in this book. I DEFINITELY would not recommend it.
Even after owning two guinea pigs prior, there is always something new to learn. This book is helpful for those who already know about raising guinea pigs and new owners.
