Now tested in battle, Evan aims to become the heir of Hatra.
Once that he’s a lord, Evan has even more on his plate, from rebuilding the city’s aqueducts to fighting demonic hordes.
On top of all that, the King of Rahma gives Evan a quest to prove his worth: to find the lost Sword of Hatra, which was last seen a thousand years ago.
If Evan can find the Sword, he will gain the king’s favor and the princess’s hand in marriage.
Start off in a cave,take over a town,then conquer a raiding hord.Oh ya take a few beautiful women's hearts and bodies,all in a day's work for a young dragon.
Author does not know that there is a difference between a blood familial relationship and a political-legal relationship for inheritance purposes. Tristan, Ruslan's Dad, is not Evan's grandfather. Ruslan is not Evan's Father either. Evan just inherited the future responsibility of Hatra city. There is no blood relationship, Julia is not his mom either. Inheritance acquisition is not the same as being "adopted" and being adopted is a direct legal relationship. Even if Ruslan adopts Evan, Julia has to adopt him too, and that does not mean that the rest of their two families have a familial relationship to Evan. Evan is from another world with other blood-family. Evan goes back a thousand years, because of Miraya, the sword, but Evan does not impregnate the Crimson Dragon, Valerra, nor does he save her from the curse a thousand years back. I actually thought Arnold Schwarzenegger, would have to protect the hatchling dragon in the future volumes of of this isekai-fantasy novel series. Well, just because author, teleports, time-travels, and all of the rest of the huge unexplainable things that happen around Evan, without any consequences or necessary explanations. Evan's harem retinue is about to get it's first six-pack from just two intimate relationships at the beginning of Volume 2. Not that the sex or the harem are necessary in a fantasy-novel series like this one.
I really like the story and want to see where it goes and how it gets there.
The writing style is usually ok, but there's times where it's cringy or I feel I'm being beaten over the head with a concept (I know you're a dragon with dragon instincts that drive you).
It's not bad, but it's not great. I'm going to keep reading the series in hopes the writing gets better but I think I'll need to grab a backup book for those times when I need to put the book down due to the aforementioned issues I have with the books thus far.
Very cool development just simple words what ever previous people review in their own opinion about this book series (amazing positive views) highly recommended for those looking for an rpg sort of isekai world game elements. Love in it so far! Cannot wait what is to come next... Eric a all sell us keychains for our lovely fans some accessories to keep them as memorable character such as Alyona our moon goddes or other well know characters from these series I lo long so far.... Pease ;)
As I predicted Vall is coming out of the gates swinging! I knew Evan would come into his own and really start to get brilliant. The story really picked up as well as the action and character building. The first book, although slow and kinda confusing had to set things up but the second book here really got things going very good. I absolutely cannot wait for book three! I need to jump into it immediately! It’s going to be great! I’m so happy his harem has started out with two impressive females with a third recuperating nicely hehehehe. Onward lads!
Started slow and I'd worried that I was done, but it finally took off about 3/4 through and got fun. A dragon that changes to a human and protects a ruined city from the hordes of demons. He has found love and a family he'd never had. He protects others and is in returned loved and protected.
2.5 stars, not as good as the first one for sure and as I did have issues with that one this one has all those issues plus more. This book was just okay at the best. Nothing really happens to more the main story forward. I found it tries to do a couple of things but ends up doing nothing. Sadly this one as not a good 2nd book.
Stopped halfway and almost lost out on a good book
So if I ever get burnt out on a author or series I will just randomly stop reading. But I forced myself to go back and finish this book and I am so glad I did!
This turned out to be a wonderful book with good action and some nice development in both characters and romance.
I am so glad I picked up this book and finished it
Finished reading book 2. I'm enjoying this series so much. The black dragon is learning and becoming more powerful. Considering he has only been in this new world a short time. Now he has helped the red dragon. I wonder where that will lead? And will the red dragon sister egg finally hatch?
The adventure continues. I really enjoyed this book. The story and characters were intriguing and engaging. I look forward to reading more about these characters and their further adventures. This book is definitely worth reading.
I enjoyed this series so far. And I'm looking forward to the next book. I love dragons and isekais so this has been a great combo. I hope to read more from this author
A really cool follow up to the first book, got some nifty new magic and characters and cool things going on. Romance scenes are pretty blah but that's okay. Looking forward to reading more. Dont love the part about not starting the next book until a certain amount of reviews, runs next the wrong way, but I understand how important they are.
Well I've just finished the second book about Evan the black dragon. It's even more fantastic than book one. Eric Vall has a major hit in this series. I now see who the red headed beautiful woman on book three's cover comes from. I can't wait to find out if she falls for Evan too.
Much like the first book in the series this book is more literary junk food. Kick back relax and eat up even though your belly will ache in the morning.
If you've gotten to the second book in the series you'll be happy to know that this one is more of the same. Some characters get a bit more detail though they're still a bit flat. The plot continues and attempts to build a much larger overarching villain plot line, though this feels more convenient than planned out. And of course, the adult scenes are... just as adult. Nothing all that new or inventive but a fun fantasy romp.
In the end, if you liked the first book, then you'll likely enjoy this one. It's more of the same casual fun.
I found the first book a bit of a derivative ‘isekai’ tale with many similarities to the abilities of the MC in the Japanese Anime ‘Reincarnated as a Slime’, but this book has moved further away from that trope and has made its way back to a story that I found really enjoyable. The characters backgrounds are filling out, the story is gaining a goal to achieve in the coming books, and Evan has begun his harem which is a signature move for Eric Vall in the second book of any of his series. I’m glad I gave this book the opportunity to change my mind on reading this series. Waiting for more.
Have to say that Eric's writing and story craft continues to grow and this series shines through. I am loving the direction and some of the plot twists that occurred in this book. The villains are the biggest let down for this book, but in a good way. We seeore of the grunts and hencemen, but none more sinister has shown up. Now I need book 3 to find out what is happening next.
I have to say that he's doing a good job with all of his series and the only problems I have with this is 1 it's short so I've read it in a few hours XD and 2 I only hope it's going to be a long series. So keep up the good work dude
This book is rather good I love an isekai novel and this one has healer dragon as an mc so points for that. However harem so more sex than the plot needs which means fast forward over those pages so it’s a solid b book but the writing is good just some personal preference issues.
Finally after a book and a half it finally starts getting good.I swear Eric vall is watching to much fake news and Hollywood feminist bullshit lately writing all this feel good do everything alright bull shit with his characters for this book.Mc is still a pussy and what’s next a rainbow shooting out of the dragons ass in support for gay rights and feminism.😎😎
Good book. More of the over arching story revealed and should last a few books. The MC is powerful but not totally OP. Love the dragon Thing and hope to see his powers grow. I like his absorbing powers and can see more abilities in the future. Looking forward to the next book.
I’ve burned through this book in less than 4 hours and it was worth every single second. Evan is my new favorite dragon and I can’t wait for the next book from an incredible author.
With everything that's happening i can't wait to see where this series will go next. D.E. is shaping up to be my favorite series to date at the moment M.M is still #1 but maybe not for long.
Evan becomes Lord of Hatra and Heir to its governance. As Guardian Dragon of Hatra, he protects his friends and home. I like the action, humor, and romance. Will he get his most desired dream? I look forward to the next book.
I have anxiety issues, so when the plot looks hopeless for the characters, I have a hard time getting all the way through the story. However, with Master Vall, I can trust that he will take the story through to a satisfying end.
