What comes after His Banana? Technically, that would be me. Before you assume I’m a potassium sucking harlot, Let me explain…
I didn’t have time for relationships, especially not with someone like Miles Chamberson. But considering my circumstances, I didn’t really have a choice.
Yes, he was the kind of offspring only generations of exceptionally attractive people could create. Practically dripping with so much perfection you could choke on it.
Then again, I was almost certain he was certifiably insane.
Within a few minutes of meeting him, he was already posing as a nude model for my clay sculpture class in a failed attempt to expose himself to me.
So when he handed me a banana, it was almost normal by comparison.
And after his banana found its way into my mouth, well… I wish I could say that was where the saga of Miles Chamberson and I ended.
Miles
I prefer to start every potential relationship with an oddly phallic, edible object.
Why, you ask? It’s simple.
Watch any woman with a suggestive object and prepare to unlock the secrets of the female psyche.
Does she favor it with a secretive little smile? Nymphomaniac. Does she flinch back, only to guiltily grab it a moment later? Cautious, but wild once she opens up. Does she throw it back at your head and score a direct hit, concussing you for two weeks? Softball player.
Or, does she pick it up and devour it, inch by inch? Does she slide that bad boy into the hatch and relish every moment of it? If she does, you have yourself a keeper.
The recipient of my latest banana was the latter, but there was one glaring problem.
Commitment and I had a troubled past. And now my old man, Bruce Chamberson, says there’s only one way I’ll earn my rightful spot in the family business. I’ve got to show him I can stick with something “for once”.
USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Amazon Charts Bestselling author Penelope Bloom is taking her first flight into romantasy—and yes, there are dragons. After years of contemporary romance, she's temporarily trading meet-cutes for magical academies and coffee shops for castles that reek of blood. She promises the banter is just as sharp, but now it comes with deadly consequences.
Fun fact: “Penelope Bloom” started as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the family dog, Penelope—never meant to be anything serious. But then the books took off, and the name stuck. Behind the scenes, Penelope Bloom is actually a husband-and-wife team. He handles the writing; she edits, helps with brainstorming, and runs the reader-facing side of things (like social media and messages). So if you’ve chatted with “Penelope” online, you’ve likely been talking to her—with the author chiming in whenever needed. Together, they’ve built the voice readers know and love.
Leve, divertido como todos os livros desta série. Este é sobre a descendência da banana. William e a vovó "matam-me", situações hilariantes.
Cute read that will leave you a smile on your face when you are finished. I have read several books from this author and I enjoyed this addition. Great characters that will keep you laughing.

Penelope delivers another hilarious & sweetly perfect BBF!
Miles is like the perfect blend of his OCD father and his nutty clepto uncle!!
He is fixated on Rey from the moment they meet. I love his 'pre-dates'.
Rey is so focused on school and her future and what she needs to do for her family, she almost misses what is right in front of her.
Miles is certainly a perfect subject for her abnormal study. Lol. His entire family would be. But will she go thru with it in the end?
Miles doesn't exactly have purely innocent intentions himself.
I love how Penelope gives us characters with backbone, personality, humor, fears, dreams, quirks, and makes us love them!! Even when they're kinda cocky, have a slightly juvenile obsession with their anatomy, and you can't help but adore them anyway because they respect the girl!!
I love Miles!!

So okay, I didn’t know that the author was even written a book about the kids to the Chamberson brothers. I can’t wait to read the story about Bruce's daughter and William kids and even the others that were from the Objects of Attraction series... I also hope that Luna gets her own story too.
You could tell that Miles was more like his uncle William than his dad Bruce. I think he had both of there personality too. I also think Ares has Bruce ways 🤣 I’m trying to think if Ares, Harper, and Kingston is Harper's family (William) wife siblings or Miles cousins; because I am not sure if there was an error or what in that section when Miles was talking with Bruce...
But at least both Miles and Rey figured out what they wanted. Also, I thought that it wasn’t any use for either of them to get mad at each other because they both lied to each other. But the story was good!!!!
I am so happy Penelope went back to the Chamberson family. I loved all the Objects of Attraction series and to now go to the next generation is so exciting. We get Miles the son of Bruce and Natasha but acts more like crazy as his uncle is much fun to read about. Miles finds his match with Rye a sweet and sometimes blushing college student who decides to use Miles's craziness for physic paperwork without telling him.
I found these two characters to be warm, crazy, fun, and chemistry wonderfully hot. But I also was so happy to see that their chemistry builds throughout the story. They find themselves in some situations where they could be in the bedroom, but things happen where they end up walking away. I find that amusing. Great story. I can't wait to see whom Penelope brings out next.
Another book of this series i love so much? Hell yea
Im so in for this book i couldnt believe it was about Bruce’s son im like ahhh that means they are older and probably have grey hair but ofc they are still beautiful as ever! The fact that Grammy is alive lol is like whatttt but hey im glad for it i love her. Also the chance to see William again? I love him he still made me laugh and Hayley they made my heart warm up. Also Miles was a perfect combo of Bruce and William well mostly William which is why i loved him so much. Miles had me dying throughout the book and hes was so sweet too. I related alot to Rey and she was a psychology major im like yass i knew all the classes she was talking about hehe. Lastly her name is awesome makes me think of Star wars lol. Anyway i loved this book was so good with equal parts funny and steamy!
After His Banana was a pretty cute and quick read to breeze through.
In it, you will meet Rey and Miles. Rey is currently struggling to get through school, work, and all the rest of her crazy life. Her main focus is to help provide for her little sister who is really gifted. It just sucks that Rey doesn't have the money to send her on these amazing opportunities every time they ask for her little sister. So her plan is to get this super awesome internship to she can afford some of these nice things for her.
There's just one hiccup. In order to get this said internship she needs to write a psychology paper on an abnormal person. Honestly, this whole paper sounds pretty interesting.. but what abnormality would impress them?
Enter Miles. He is in business school at the same college as Rey. Yet, his dream and love is cooking. Oh man. A guy that cook. Well anyone that can cook is good with me. So when he ends up punching this douche named Kale in the face.. well he has to think of a plan B work wise.
Which is why the book world brought these two together. It was highly entertaining that they were both using one another for different reasons and I was just casually waiting for everything to blow up and for the truth to come out. I won't lie. This book made me laugh so much. It was very entertaining from start to finish.
Plus whenever people think they wont develop feelings just makes me laugh. Especially when romance and sparks are involved. These two had wonderful chemistry and I am very happy that I dove into this book.
Miles and Rey were pretty cute. Miles is nearly the perfect balance between the two types of crazy his dad and uncle showcased in the earlier books: a little bit carefully planned, a little bit spontaneous. And Rey had a lot in common with the previous heroines. Her gaze was fixed firmly on her life goals, and those were mostly to make it easier on the rest of her family members. I really liked these two together and I loved seeing what the next generation looks like. Now, I need the stories for the rest of the children of our previous leading couples.
Omg lol...this book literally had me laughing out loud. Granny is my spirit animal!
I picked this up to read for fun...knowing full well I wasn’t expecting much other than a light read. I was pleasantly surprised when the novel wasn’t all debauchery. There is sex but given the title of the book, I figured it was going to be cover to cover. The storyline was cute and fun and the amount of times I laughed really made this book for me.
Wonderfully fantastic... The book was amazing... It had a lot of details and juicy scenes to it... The characters and their personalities match them perfectly... The plot and the storyline was very descriptive and amazing...
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This books was wonderful. It was sexy and funny which delighted me that it had a little bit of both. The whole series was really good and I wonder if there will be any more at all.
Rey and Miles are great together, so much fun and steamy chemistry. The story is fast paced with plenty of drama and the characters are amazing. I really liked it.
Myles is unhappy in his work life and also his love life. Then he meets Rey and everything changes! Loved this book from page 1 to the last page! Definitely recommend!
Light, funny, and just a little bit sexy, After His Banana is everything I look for in one of Penelope Bloom's books. There's humor throughout - often over the top and always smile-inducing - characters who are quirky but likable, and a light, easy feel that makes the story fly by. Fans of her Objects of Attraction series will love this one because it brings back some beloved characters while introducing a whole new generation. If you're looking for a quick and funny read with very little angst, that's exactly what you'll find with this.
The story follows Rey, a broke college student in need of a research subject for an assignment. When she meets Miles, a sexy yet slightly eccentric guy, she's torn between wanting to date him and wanting to write her paper about him. Miles doesn't have the best track record with women, but he finds himself wanting to spend as much time with Rey as possible, setting up countless "pre-dates" so that he can wow her with the perfect first date. As they spend more time together, the connection builds and both Rey and Miles are surprised with the way things are working out.
This is just the kind of book I like to read from Penelope Bloom. Her brand of humor is incredibly unique and just jumps off the pages. Yes, it's got that exaggerated, sort of ridiculous feel at times, but it has such personality that it makes for an entertaining read. The only thing that really holds this back from being a 5-star read for me is that it stayed SO light that I didn't feel the depth of emotion I would like. A few extra scenes where these two get a little more serious together would've made this an easy 5-star rating, but I enjoyed it the whole way through and would love more books featuring the children of her former couples. I received a free copy via Booksprout (then purchased it for my collection) and am voluntarily leaving a review of this romantic comedy.
If you’re familiar with His Banana, this is Bruce and Natasha’s son Miles.
This was a cute read. And funny too. All the characters were great. I especially liked Penny, Rey’s brilliant little sister. I can’t believe Grammy is still alive 20 + years later. A little unbelievable, but she’s definitely entertaining.
I would have liked the epilogue to be wrapped up more though. But it’s headed toward an HEA.
I don’t think William and Hailey had a child, unless I missed it. But I’m assuming more books will be written in this world.
Miles And Rey's Story Is Absolutely Hilarious! Miles' Enthusiasm And Rey's Acceptance Make For A Good Match. Note: Ages From My Banana Don't Match Up.
This book is a follow up to My Banana, book one in the Objects of Attraction series. It follows Bruce and Natasha's son Miles, who is a combination of his father and his uncle, William. Although not necessary to have read My Banana first, it certainly helps to understand the pressure Miles felt to be perfect like his dad, but to always come up short. Characters from My Banana as well as William's story in Her Cherry, book two of the Objects of Attraction series, make repeated appearances. Miles' cousins move back into the city at the end, hinting at a follow up to His Cherry.
Rey North, roughly twenty-two, likes to fix things. The NYU undergrad aspires to be a psychologist, like her late father, so she can help people fix their problems. Toward that effort, she has her sights set on an internship at a prestigious New York City practice that will open doors for her. To earn it, she needs the top grade in all of Professor Boswell's classes for the paper on abnormal behavior. It isn't only her future riding on the internship; with the loss of her father, her sister Penny is growing up without the same opportunities Rey had, so Rey works and saves to help out. To nab the top grade and secure the internship, Rey just needs to find a unique, weird person to write about.
Miles Chamberson, roughly thirty, likes a little chaos in his life. Growing up as the son of super successful advertising guru Bruce Chamberson hasn't been easy. He wants to follow in his dad's footsteps but only manages to disappoint. Miles is somewhat okay with routines - which his dad lives for - but his impulse control gets him in a lot of trouble. In some ways he is more like his brilliant but unsteady Uncle Wiliam. He loses interest in women in two weeks or less, so he has never had a relationship. He has managed to work at Markwell, an ad agency like his father's but on a smaller scale, for four years, but in a show of support for the new secretary, he throws a punch at his boss and quits. Blacklisted from advertising, he does the thing he never wanted to do: ask his dad for a job. Based on personal experience, Bruce believes money given is like poison to the recipient. He wants Miles to earn his way to success, and although he is disappointed in Miles, he agrees to give him a job if Myles can demonstrate that he can stick with something.
When Rey encounters a man in the ladies room, he seems more than a little off beat. When he shows up in her class, nearly strips, demands a date, and offers her a banana, she knows he would make the ideal subject for her paper. When Miles sees the bathroom girl, he is drawn to her hidden beauty. He dislikes women that demand attention, and Rey's unpretentiousness calls to him. Immediately overcome with jealousy - something unfamiliar to him - he sets his sights on getting her to agree to a first date. It doesn't hurt that he can date Rey and use his new relationship to demonstrate to his dad that he has changed.
As Rey gets to know Miles, she discovers his layers and grows to like him in spite of herself. Her repeated failures to confess her motivation consequently cause her little confession to becomes a big problem. Miles is relentless in his pursuit of Rey, finding commitment and patience he never knew he had. Although cognizant of the duality of his motives, he never wavers in believing in his feelings for Rey as genuine.
Miles and Rey's story is absolutely hilarious! Miles is exceptional in his enthusiasm, which makes him a perfect match for bringing Rey out of her shell. He helps her to take time to enjoy life; she grounds him. He finds in her the acceptance he desperately needs. The couple's dialogue is laugh out loud funny. Miles' potty mouth is shocking (as is Grammy's), and the sparring between his mottos and philosophy versus Rey's psychology is hugely entertaining. They are a lovely couple and enjoy a cute HEA.
There are a few issues that merit mention. First, the ages don't line up with His Banana. With William in his early fifties and Caitlyn in her early thirties, Miles would need to be closer to twenty, not thirty. Twenty-five max. Next, Miles and Rey don't actually spend much time together and he doesn't have a job. Sitting at home doesn't look like a sound approach to convincing his dad he changed. Third, Rey stretches a twenty cent ramen into two meals because she is penny pinching, but elects to pass on a free ride and instead pay for a two hour Uber ride, which makes little sense. She could have passed on the weekend and studied instead, sparing any expense. Additionally, that Miles allowed Rey to take an Uber rather than ride with him seems out of character. Finally, the story drags some in the latter half.
Miles and Rey's hilarious journey is a memorable read. It is nicely written, though there are some formatting issues. The plot is fairly simple. The story is character-driven. The characters are wonderfully defined, though there could be more with Rey. Miles is unforgettable - a total riot! Grammy is colorful and adds to the crazy atmosphere. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Miles and Rey. I rate this book four stars.

If you read His Banana, this is the son of the two main people in that book. This book was fantastic. It was both sexual and hilarious, which I appreciated because it had a touch of both. The entire series was fantastic, and I'm not sure whether there will be any more.
[No major spoilers but if you like going in blind to a book you should be wary of this review as it picks apart a few issues. Main takeaway is you should read the book but it isn’t perfect, but it is close enough that it is worth reading.]
Read Bloom’s “His Banana” and “Her Cherry” first if you want to understand the Chamberson family (Miles’ family) if you want to get all the little jokes and references. Should really be noted in the synopsis.
This was like those two books being tossed into a blender to make a new book baby. It was better than “His Banana” but not as good as “Her Cherry”. Miles obviously being the tie in. I enjoyed the return of Grammy and (Uncle) William’s comedy to punchline the family gatherings. Also, the weird personality quirks that seemed to be plucked at random for the kids. Miles personality seems more like he is William and Hailey’s child, the same way the three sentences written about Harper make her come across as Natasha’s daughter not Hailey’s.
The book for the most part was great and light hearted as I expected from Bloom’s comedic romances. However, it felt a bit clunky in the middle when Rey began acting more and more immature about how to reveal her initial intention for the relationship. Luna didn’t help matters when horrible advice got piled onto bad decisions. So it started to nag me that someone studying psychology couldn’t grow a pair and actually sit down and have a discussion. Instead the issue kept getting pushed aside or ignored until it ended with a dramatic proclamation of truth and a quick exit. Then it was resolved super quick and realistically in comparison to the big deal it was being mutated into. I nearly set this book aside to potentially be forgotten because it was becoming embarrassingly ridiculous.
Also, side note it was kind of annoying how in the first couple chapters Rey’s lack of experience and virginity were made into a character point and kind of shoved aside rather fast. Like, in “Her Cherry” the book’s main plot point was Hailey’s inexperience and she was upfront about it and all her initial encounters with William acknowledged that and were appropriately awkward. Whereas, here Rey’s inexperience is acknowledged but every physical part of her relationship with Miles is treated with a lot more confidence than you’d expect from her character buildup. Like even a bit of acknowledgement between Rey and Miles about the discrepancies of their personal experiences would have been appreciated so it doesn’t come across so blasé. Especially considering Rey’s character is described as having some unrealistic romantic ideas it doesn’t seem consistent with how sex is treated as a forgone conclusion with a “yeah, why the heck not” attitude.
Those two story issues aside it was a good read and continued the humour from the first two books of the Objects of Attraction series. The banana theme wasn’t too heavily emphasized to make it cheesy or try hard repeating the greatest hits. Another good comedy with great one liners and embarrassing humour and pop culture references.
Since this book is new I don’t know if it will be another series featuring the kids from the original books, but I’m assuming it is a possibility with the late intro to the Chamberson cousins. They were featured just enough to be interesting at the end with a hint of back story that was starting to make me curious. I hope there will be more because the Chamberson clan has been a great addition to my morning coffee (minus the coffee stains when I laughed to hard).
Annnd I think this is my last point but it was like a pebble in my shoe I need to remove. The timeline of the characters was driving me loony. Because this book clearly stated it was present day 2020 multiple times and references coincided with this. Which implies the events of the original books occurred in the 90s which obviously isn’t true because cellphones and texting was happening in those books. I’m all for suspending disbelief if done correctly (like Grammy was said to be 85 in “Her Cherry”, realistically she’d have passed away if this book is 25-32 years later) but the tools need to be provided for suspending disbelief. Easily, done if the pop culture references were a tad less specific or years were removed. I’d just pretend this was sometime in the future, but my mind kept getting caught up making a timeline trying to create points of reference. So yeah not a major problem but certainly annoying anytime a reference was made to dates/times/notable events.
Basically, read this book, I put too much effort into writing this review for people not to give it a chance to be a new favourite or at least a new addition to the DNF pile.
Reading this book was absolutely the best way to chase the stress away from my real life! I read the first books (His Banana and Her Cherry) that this book (After His Banana) was based on when they first came out. This book brought back some of some of my favorite characters from the past books, but is not necessary to read the other books to enjoy and appreciate this one. Reading the previous books just adds to the experience infinitely. Basically, After His Banana is awesome, and you should go buy it and read it now!
Okay, this next part of my review is going to just tell you what this book did for me, so it is okay to skip it if you're ready to give this book a read. If you are hesitating buy or borrow this book, or are just curious about how it helped me, please keep reading...
As we all know very well, in 2020 and now 2021, the world has changed. It is more stressful (and literally life threatening for anyone right now). Even before COVID, I have had to shoulder a lot of responsibility and stress, because I take care of my mom 24/7 (and she has very significant health issues and memory issues for 2 years also). That is on top of trying to manage my autoimmune disorder that some days makes it feel like my body is trying to attack itself in some of the most painful ways possible. Books have always been a great way to escape from my stressful life, but lately I have been struggling to read. (Reading has AWAYS been the one coping mechanism that has been most effective in helping me have a positive attitude and not stay in a constant depressed, anxious, overwhelmed mood.)
Until very recently, I have managed to rise above and try to keep the best attitude I can no matter what the challenges may be. One of my best friends, who is also been my physical therapist for many years, has helped make it possible for me to manage to function and have a better attitude despite it all. She has been at a cross roads for a bit, but told me last week that she and her husband finally made a hard decision and they are moving 15+ hours away. While I am excited for her new opportunity, not seeing her every week has me very sad because keeping up via phone and video chat just isn't the same. (I seriously considered it, but I cannot move where she's moving.) That sad/happy news had me wanting to stay in bed with my head under the covers even though it is not an option.
Then yesterday, we found out two people I love most in the world both have life threatening health conditions. One of my loved ones is in ICU with COVID complications, which is scary by itself, but he already had other major health issues that just makes COVID so much worse for his poor body. He's been an amazing big brother and I can't see our lives without him in it. The other person is my cousin who brings joy and laughter with her wherever she goes. Even when her father was dying a horrible death two years ago and we were all so sad, being by her side was a privilege. She found out this week that not only does she need a kidney transplant NOW, but that she also has leukemia. Because of misdiagnosis, the leukemia has been untreated for at least a year+. We are all praying so hard and we have so much faith, but the fact is unless we get some miracles it will not be long until both of their lights are gone from our lives.
I figured tonight when I sat down to attempt to read, this would just be another night where I was struggling so much with the weight of everything that I couldn't even escape into a book. I have tried reading several of my favorite go-to authors' books lately, only to just put them down after a few pages. If you are still reading this review by now you should understand how desperately I needed the escape a good book can bring. This book, After His Banana, was a total game changer for me. It had me riveted until the very last page (and also left me wanting more). I needed every single laugh this book elicited and to just get away from crushing reality for a while. There was such of it that I loved/adored that the book has more highlighted parts than un-highlighted parts. Reading it made my whole week of crap-tastic news not weigh so heavy on my soul. Now, I plan on sharing it with everyone (and not just the people I love the most😆😉).
So now, dear reader of this review, you can see this book has worked it's magic on me. Just imagine how amazing it would be for you and your life if you buy it NOW and read it!!!
PS to Penelope Bloom- If you ever read this review, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have become an essential worker to me (which I don't say lightly), and I eagerly await your next books. Thank you X 1,000,000,000,000!!!!😘🥰😍
Does she want to date him or research him..... he is lovable so who can resist him
So I fell in love with Penelope Bloom's fun, quirky, lovable and sexy characters and the world that she wove for the readers in her Objects of Attraction series. If you have read them all, like I have, then you will be pleased to read that she has started on the spawn of the various pairings, so the second generation. This all kicks off with Bruce and Natasha's son Miles. This kid is a bundle of buttoned up and letting it all flow, so a mix of his father and his uncle. But he is so handsome and kissable that you fall in love with him. So he is off to college and is having an interesting time to say the least. Rey North is a NYU undergrad who wants to follow in her late father's footsteps and be a psychologist. She is studying hard and even though she is broke she is doing well. She is in line to get an internship at one of the best private practices in NYC. In order to secure this she needs to write a research paper on abnormal behavior but first she needs to find the perfect research subject. Enter Miles Chamberlain. The only problem is that she cannot make up her mind if she wants to date him, as he is handsome and very sexy, or research him, as he does have some interesting and quirky behavior. For Miles he definitely finds the beautiful Rey very attractive. But he does not have a good track record with dating, poor kid didn't have a chance coming from his paternal side the dating gene is haywire. So he decides to make mini-dates or pre-dates instead so that he can figure out the perfect first date. These times that they spend together are really lovely and allow them to get to know each other and develop a real connection. Now the question is whether they have an actual relationship or whether Rey writes a paper about Miles and thus betraying their trust and connection.
I really enjoyed this book, as I did with the previous books in the series. I am looking forward to reading more about the offspring of all the couples and also getting glimpses into their current lives. The Chamberlain family is hilarious so you just know the kids are going to inherit those genes.
I LOVED this story! The characters were great and well developed. Miles mottos are the shiznit! There are a lot of feels with this story. I laughed so much that my daughter was concerned if I was going to be ok.
Rey is a struggling college student that doesn't have time for relationships. She meets Miles somewhere you should never meet a man and shortly after that, he was posing as a nude model for her sculpture class. He gives her a banana before leaving her class and asks her for a date. Rey is almost positive that he is certifiably insane.
Miles is the son of very rich parents but is working to prove that he can make it on his own. He meets Rey and decides that he wants to get to know her better even though she is less than enthused with his attention. He gives her a banana as both a test as to what kind of woman she is and for sentimental reasons. Miles isn't a fan of commitment but if he wants a job at the family business he will have to prove to his dad that he can stick with something “for once”. He decides that he can prove it to his dad and get to know Rey better since keeping her around would show a level of commitment.
Miles and Rey were wonderful. Miles cracked me up so much. He can be my new book boyfriend! Rey trying to take care of her sister Penny gave me lots of feels. Miles gave me lots of feels too since he was so interesting and forgiving. I think my favorite part was the laser tag and Miles's reaction to how everything went down. Their happy ever after made me so happy. I do wish there was an epilogue further into the future, but I'm happy with the way it ended. I definitely recommend reading this book.

This book is fantastic!!! Full fun, love, lust and a little bit of deception. Rey is a college student struggling to get by. Having lost her father, her mother does the best she can for Rey and her little sister Penny but there's just not enough to go around. Rey is studying psychology, praying for an internship that will pay her the money she needs to help Penny achieve her dreams. When she meets Miles in the women's bathroom, she thinks she's found the perfect subject for her paper on abnormal behavior. He's determined to see her again and gets her to go on prequel dates with him. He has quit his job at the advertising firm he worked for and is hoping to now work for his father. His father will give him a job if Miles can prove he can stick with something and he decides that something is Rey. They begin seeing each other and soon Rey realizes she actuallly has feelings for him. Miles is also developing feelings, which is not the norm for him. Soon Rey starts to feel the guilt building, that she's using him for her paper and in the end, it gets too much and she confesses to Miles and walks away. Miles finds he misses her and after a talk with his Aunt, he goes to find her. He admits he was using her too but that he wants her to be his sort of girlfriend again and that she is forgiven. She agrees but only if she can be his real girlfriend. She has realized that sacrificing her happiness for her sister isn't good for either of them. She and Miles begin again and their relationship and love grows and blossoms into something wonderful and Rey finds that she doesn't have to sacrifice her happiness for everyone else.

4.5 stars After His Banana is a light-hearted and fun romantic comedy that is sure to leave you laughing out loud as you follow the romantic and somewhat crazy journey between the delightful Rey and zany Miles. If you have read any of this author’s Objects of Attraction books, especially His Banana or Her Cherry, then you will have a general idea of what to expect - hilarious verbal sparring, quirky characters, and lots of crazy antics.
After His Banana is a standalone romantic comedy that is a bit over the top with the numerous escapades that Miles and Rey get into. Miles is the progeny of Bruce and Natasha (from His Banana) and is a rather amusing and insanely good-looking character. Rey is a psychology student at NYU and her first encounter with Miles is quite entertaining. She is more responsible and sensible than Miles, but also possesses some sass. My only complaint is that Miles, while older than Rey, was very immature and childish at times. However, that did not detract away from my enjoyment of the book.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the amazing cast of secondary characters. Grammy is absolutely batty and all of the scenes with her had me nearly peeing my pants with laughter. The banter between Miles and Rey also left me chuckling. After His Banana is a book not be taken seriously or even realistically. It is meant to elicit tears of laughter from its unique, quirky characters who engage in over the top antics all while leaving you with a smile on your face. This romantic comedy is the perfect book for a weekend read or to life your spirits.
I read an early complimentary version of this book via Booksprout.
Literally laugh-out-loud steamy, suggestive Rom Com with innuendoes galore. That cover! Having read all of the Objects of Attraction series, I can truly say I think this is the best. These characters are charmingly loveable and have given Ms. Bloom unparalleled status in this genre in my mind. Rey is a broke Psychology student at NYU hoping to win a coveted PAID internship with a paper on an abnormal personality subject. She just needs to find one. After her father’s death her family’s circumstances changed dramatically and she feels compelled to shoulder this burden. Her sister is a genius with many opportunities but b/c of their financial situation unable to pursue them. Enter Miles Chamberson, son of Bruce who with his twin brother William own and operate Galleon Enterprises, the premier advertising agency in NYC, making them billionaires. The meet-cute between Rey and Miles was so Penelope Bloom! Because Miles is outrageously zany and eccentric, Rey thinks she has found her abnormal personality subject. And, b/c Miles feels attracted to Rey, he could use her to prove to his father he is worthy to join Galleon. He’s not your typical spoiled rich boy. There were so many things about this book that make it outstanding: revisiting the Chamberson crew; Miles’ mottoes; Grammy’s mouth; etc. etc. etc. Read this book if you like LOL romantic comedy with steamy dialogue, situations and lots of humor. This book is light as day. No dark here. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout and give it 10 Stars!
After His Banana is the beginning of a new generation of characters, set within the Objects of Attraction world. Rey has an important psychology assignment to complete, and when she runs into a crazy man who’s taking his clothes off and offering her his banana, she thinks she’s found the perfect man. I mean, candidate. But Miles has his own agenda, so can their relationship develop on a few small lies and a lot of humor?
I was a huge fan of the Objects of Attraction series and was thrilled when I realized Ms. Bloom was going to expand on the series! Rey and Miles were so fun, full of flirting, tension, trying to figure out each other’s inner puzzles, and a bunch of romance! I loved them together. Rey had such a big heart and tried so hard to help her family out when she could, that she often put herself on the back burner. I loved watching her open up around Miles, have fun and find the humor in the situation around herself. Miles was amazing, and I absolutely loved him!! He was serious about what he wanted, but was almost afraid to reach for it. I loved the effort he gave when he applied himself, especially when it came to all of the predates he came up with for Rey! I was laughing out loud at times, swooning at others, and enjoyed being back with Bruce and William. While I loved the connection between the characters, I did feel like just a couple of the scenes dragged a bit, but I still loved how everything developed in the storyline and with Rey and Miles. I had so much fun reading this book and look forward to more!
I was very excited to read a new book from The Objects Of Attraction series. I absolutely fell in love with each and every story and all the characters. In "After His Banana” we get to meet the Miles, son of Bruce. Father and son are 2 very different personalities. We also get to catch up with William and Grammy and they are just the best! Miles has made decisions to make it on his own so when things go upside down professionally for him he works through it and his dad offers him a job at the family company if he can prove he can stick with something. When Rey is at school she goes to use the restroom and finds Miles in the ladies room. They have one interesting conversation and it starts their getting to know one another before they officially have a 1st date which Miles finds a way to get Rey to agree to. Rey is a special young lady and gives back to Miles when he gets on a roll with his comments. Rey has had some difficulties with her life and finds it hard to believe that Miles likes her as he comes from a wealthy family. When Rey discovers that Miles enjoys cooking she does what she can to help him become successful with it and Miles does what is necessary to keep Rey from walking away from him and what’s between them humor, passion, great minds, love and one crazy family! Miles is Bruce and Natasha's son and he wants to go his own path but isn't sure his father will approve. When he quits his job he tries to get an entry level job at the family company but his father isn't having it. So Miles sets out to put that he can stick with something by dating Rey. However what he doesn't know is that Rey is using him also for a paper she needs to write, What neither counted on was for real feelings to become involved. The more time they spend together the more Rey learns about him. Especially that he really wants to cook things and see people eat his creations. He introduces her to his crazy family thinking if she can survive that then she is his kind of girl. Rey wasn't sure what she was expecting when it came to his family but it all went out the window especially when she met his Granny. Will they be able to make their relationship work with their secrets? What will happen when the truth is out in the open?
This book had me laughing out loud. I loved it. It was so much like the rest in the series with the humor aspect that I couldn't put it down until I was done. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
