He’s having the worst year of his life. And I’m his easiest target.
Nick Locke is the star athlete in our class, the handsome model of athletic perfection. I’m the perfect student, the goody-two shoes that never so much as talks back to a teacher. Our paths were never supposed to cross. But now that they have, my life is a living hell.
Behind every perfect student, though, there’s a shadow waiting to make themselves known. Behind every girl who quietly takes what’s thrown her way, there’s a woman ready to fight back.
And so, as handsome and sexy as Nick is, as much as he makes my stomach flip just to see him, I’m ready to fight back. And when that happens, instead of me getting what he thinks I deserve, I’m going to make sure he gets what he actually deserves.
Rough Guy is book three of the Providence Prep High School series. While this book is a continuation of book 2, it can be read as a standalone. So, what are you waiting for - enroll in the world of Providence Prep and read now!
I have really enjoyed each book in this series and was so looking forward to Nick and Samantha’s book but there were times that I found it hard to get in to if I am being honest. It was still a really good read I just couldn’t gel totally with the characters.
Nick is the third wheel within the Board Street Boys now that Kevin and Adam have found themselves in relationships and as his life goes he finds himself in second place again. Nick has spent his life trying to meet the expectations set by his father and live up to the reputations of his older brothers only to fall short every time. Trying to gain momentum and find a college that will be willing to accept him on a sports scholarship is getting harder and harder each week. Feeling low and rejected he makes a move on the quirky nerdy girl in the group only to feel yet more rejection when she turns away from him, his anger knows no bounds and Samantha is the target but when he realises that he feels more for the girl that has always stood on the side-lines and who he has tried to destroy will she accept his apology or is it too late?
Samantha has had her high school planned out for her since birth, everyone thinks that she has perfect parents but if anyone looks closer they will see a lack of love and affection and a regimented educational programme and nothing but 100 percent is acceptable, their goal Harvard or Yale and nothing in between. So when Nick makes a move on her and doesn’t like the rejection his revenge could lose her all she has worked for. Samantha is unsure why she is receiving Nick’s wrath and as the star athlete of the school he could have the pick of the girls why would he choose her when she is looked upon as the awkward geek that no one wants to date. But as hard as she tries to fight the pull of Nick she always ends up in his orbit especially as her friends and his are interlinked. Will Samantha admit her attraction to Nick enough to let him into her heart and life or will she continue to push Nick and people away to carry out her parents dreams?
Although this is the third book in the series you can read each book as a standalone although I would recommend you read them in order and the end of this was perfect but I have to admit I am really hoping that Ryan gets a book he needs bringing down a peg or two. Overall I have enjoyed this series and the ending in this was perfect for the characters.
It was alright but how the heroine went from 0-100 real quick with the hero annoyed me. She distances herself and then WHAM! jumps into bed with him. Blegh.

I actually enjoyed samantha's and Nick's better than the rest. It was something about them, that I actually enjoyed. I will say they were both just wishy washy. One minute she wanted him, then the next she needed to focus on school. When he gets rejected he lashes out. Still nice read
Nick was my favorite of the three Broadstreet Boys. Love that he learns to accept himself as well as others where they are! Hope Ryan gets his own story!
Ugh I’m obsessed with the whole series so far ! I really hope there’s gonna be a book about Ryan , but I loved this one Nick was always my fave besides Adam of course and although Samantha was a little annoying she wasn’t bad either ! All in all it was a really great book and the send off was a perfect ending ! I hope there’s more !
This is the 3rd book in this series. You don’t have to read the first two but to get the full understanding of the characters I recommend it. Jacob Allen takes you back to high school days with the bullying. Another great read by this author
