Luke Drake is obsessed with his job. He lives and breathes it. He likes routine and being able to keep his world calm while chaos is all around him.
Every single morning, Kinsley Alexander can look at the clock and know when the next bell above the door goes off, it’s going to be Luke.
Kinsley thinks Luke Drake is a jerk. He doesn’t have time for the world around him and she’s pretty sure his most prized possession is his phone. It’s either glued to his ear, or his thumbs are moving a million miles a minute across the screen.
On a fluke, she decides to write little messages on his cup. Maybe it will make him come up for air and enjoy life. If anyone ever needed that, it would be Luke.
When that doesn’t seem to work, she gets up the nerve to talk to Luke instead.
Finally, Luke sees something other than his phone. What he sees is beauty so incredible it takes his breath away. What he sees is Kinsley and he’s not letting her get away. She’s meant to be his.
Tory’s back to wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day. Except she’s not bringing you candy or flowers. She’s bringing you an over the top Alpha that might be hard to wrangle, but is proof that when a girl whispers a few little words, while love is in the air, miracles happen. If sweet, hot, melt in your mouth heroes are your dessert of choice. Don’t worry, Tory has you covered with this one.
Tory Baker is a mom of two teenagers and a dog mom to one wild and active Weimaraner, Remi. She lives in a small coastal town on the east coast of sunny Florida. Oftentimes you’ll find her outside soaking up the rays with at least three drinks surrounding her, a wandering imagination, and a notebook in hand where she’s jotting down a plot for her next story. She’s a lover of writing happily ever afters with Alpha heroes and sassy heroines.
I was in the mood for a good, sweet romance and this fit the bill perfectly. Luke was a grouchy man who lived for his job, who barely looked up from his phone when he was out of the office. He was the true definition of a workaholic. Kinsley was pure sunshine. She knew what she wanted to be from a little girl and achieved her goal young with the support of her parents. She was also a bit of a workaholic but she enjoyed interacting with people and making them smile. Kinsley had thought Luke was gorgeous the moment he appeared in her shop but he never looked up from his phone and also seemed grumpy. This gave her the assumption that he was a jerk. Luke had been going to her coffee shop for months without really noticing anything but the moment he notices his girl she is all he can think about. He will do anything to make her his including becoming less involved in his work and making sure her life is filled with smiles!

Yeah...no, not for me! I made it to 18ish% and past sample but not going to continue. I'm glad I quit because I thought this was a full length book and I would've been upset when it ended so soon. Major insta going on and just felt choppy overal...
Looking for some fluff and low steam this is for you.
Kinsley has always seen Luke in her coffee shop always with his head looking down on his phone or always talking.. well he is always on his phone not even looking up or around.. she she starts writing messages maybe he would see.. but little does she know Luke isnt as snobbish or invovled with himself he sees her when he goes in but he has a hard working job and it takes up most of his time.
But he enjoys her little messages and he is going after what he wants now. Now Luke doesnt look like a workaholic now.. he less on his phone and spending it with Kinsley it's pretty fluff from there..
No ow/om drama, no cheating, slight secondary chara, sexy times, no virgins

Happy Valentine's Day and so much sweetness! Luke is a high powered workaholic who is constantly stuck in his phone and not quite as unobservant as Kinsley thinks. Kinsley is a hard working coffee shop owner who takes to writing sweet nothings on Luke's daily coffee cup. When these two officially meet oh em gee sparks fly all over the place!! These two move at a lightning fast pace that is perfect for them! Sweet Nothings is completely safe with no abuse, no cheating and no drama of any kind. There is no mention of previous relationships from either of them. A very Happily Ever After with epilogues 1 and 8 years out
Kinsley and Luke. Luck was the most cut-throat attorney around, and Kinsley was the owner of a coffee shop. They we both amazing in their own career. I like this one!!
“Good morning, what can I get for you today?” Her voice is smooth like a melody, when I look up from this God forsaken phone that never stops buzzing. Her gaze is on mine, her eyes are grey in color, but what really sucks me in is the depth that you see behind them.
Her smile is soft and sweet, her hair the color of honey, hanging loosely down past her shoulders. I know her name, I’ve heard the customers coming and going singing her praises. I’ve even rolled it around on my tongue, shamefully while fisting my cock in the shower, and once or twice in my office. Her looks are sultry, she’s dangerous, yet I haven’t even touched her, let alone interact with her very much. But, from what I can see, her body is one that calls to me like a siren’s song. She’s smaller than me, with breasts that are bigger than the palms of my hands, always bouncing when she walks. There’s nothing fake about her body, and what a figure it is. Hips I want grasped in my hands as she rides me, maybe even in a reverse style so I can watch her ass move with every downward stroke. Yeah, it’s about time I finally make my move on her.
“Large, black coffee, please,” I order.
They both had crush on each other. Luke went to Kinsley’s coffee shop every day to buy his coffee. It was cute to see their feelings from dual pov.
“Luke, can I get you something?” her soft and sweet smile is aimed at me. The only thing I want is her, in my arms for the rest of fucking time.
“A date, tonight?” I question. The blush that I saw on her earlier, comes back full force, her porcelain skin is overtaken by it.
“Me?” She questions, pointing at herself. “Yes, Kinsley, you and me, a date. Maybe some dinner?” I reiterate.
“Um…I guess so, but are you sure?” She questions, like I’d change my mind. I get it, she doesn’t know me that well, yet. One thing for sure, she will after tonight.
“Positive, I’ll pick you up at seven” I tell her. “You don’t even know where I live though,” she grabs her loose hair, pulling it to one side, trying to conceal her nervousness.
“Kinsley, I know you live upstairs, that you close at four o’clock tonight. So, seven tonight, we can go for sushi?”
“Sure, I’ll…uh, be ready and waiting,” she mumbles. I move in closer to her, her scent is surrounding me now, it’s light and airy with hints of vanilla. My body wants to bring her in more, to feel her wrapped around me, but I know it’s too soon, she’s too unsure. Instead, I kiss her forehead, step back, and say, “See you at seven.”
“See you soon,” her head is tipped up, her lips pressed together. It takes everything I have to walk away from her before I do something like kiss her stupid in front of everyone in the coffee shop.
Super sweet and gentle hero. He was a gentle but arrogant alpha hero at the same time. Their story was simple but was interesting.
I’m in unchartered territory with Kinsley, I don’t do this, as in I’ve never done this before. The date, the flowers, wanting to have someone permanent in my life, but with Kinsley, I want it all, and I want to give my everything to her.
Epilogue was one year later and six years later. Kinsley was still the most beautiful woman for Luke after many years past, melt my heart.
“I love you, Kinsley. Thank you for the best Valentine’s I could ever have,” I say kissing her forehead as I try to catch my breath.
“You’re going to make me cry, Luke, I love you too, and I can’t wait to spend many more Valentine’s Days with you,” her eyes close and we bask in the moment.
Love it!!!♥️♥️♥️

At 23, Kinsley is living her dream. She worked hard in high school, took a part time job in her chosen career, and presented her parents with a business plan. When she graduated her parents turned over her college find and she opened Topped Off, her coffee shop. She partnered with her friends who owns a Bakery and offers her bake goods as well. Business is good. Luke at 37, is a successful attorney with his own firm. He stops in at Topped Off every morning for a black coffee. He has taken notice of Kinsley. A more stressful than usual day and Kinsley's hand written note on his cup has Like taking action. Sweet and steamy. Loved Luke's proposal. A great epilogue to wrap up their story.
OM/YW romance. Quick enjoyable read. Loved that Kinsley owns a book store/coffee shop. Luke and Kinsley were so good together. Once Luke actually paid attention to Kinsley, the chemistry and attraction was off the charts. Loved this story.

Okay, I give up on this series. It’s super tame and boring with no storyline beyond meeting and falling in love. In this book, the H mentions over and over to the h that she needs to remember to lock her door, he worries about her leaving her door Unlocked, babe you left the door unlocked again....so I keep waiting for a crazy person to show up and at least give me some kind of excitement. Nope. Leads nowhere. Complete snore. Frick, I need a good hot read. I’m on a bad roll.
Cute insta love. Luke is a workaholic and he finds his true love in a coffee shop. Kinsley is the owner and she gets his attention and they fall in love and get their happy ever after.
This is a wonderful story. Kinsley owns the coffee shop that Luke gets his morning black coffee at. Luke Drake a drop dead gorgeous powerful attorney. He spends his time working and working. No color in his life, even his expensive suits are bland. Kinsley on the other hand is a workaholic with a splash of color everywhere, she balanced life with work. They have both noticed each other and it is not until Kinsley makes the first attempt at a connection. Writing little sweet notes on his coffee cups daily. The first time Luke noticed it he began wondering if he missed any with his head always on the next client. When their relationship status turns romantic it is a beautiful thing. Dinner dates, sitting at home in peace and quiet, watching t.v., just being in the moment getting to know each other. When they set into a comfortable rythm things heat up. Kinsley teaches Luke to slow down and enjoy life, Luke teaches Kinsley to delegate responsibility at her shop. It is a definite give and take relationship. We get to laugh and enjoy their story with no negative drama or mystery. This story has family and friends coming together. The chapters may be short but they are effective. With a dual POV we read both characters thoughts and experiences. With 33 chapters thats a good thing but the two epilogues are what really wrap this story up to a HEA worth the wait

Plot: Kinsley works at a bakery and every morning Luke comes in for a coffee. He doesn't notice anything around him, so intent on his business and his phone. When Kinsley finally gets Luke to notice her, he can't stop looking. He's now hyper-focused on her.
Commentary: Sweet, short, to the point super possessive hero who finally figured out what he wanted. Super safe and sweet read, satisfying for a half-hour's entertainment.
DNF ~40%.This needs to be re-edited purely for punctuation. All of the commas that were either missing or completely missed the mark for where they should have been drove me a little crazy. Aside from that, I felt no connection to the characters and it seemed like most of the narration was about their jobs and describing their surroundings instead of focusing on their interactions.
Sweet Nothings is the perfect blend of a sweet, feel good read that will leave you with a smile on your face. Tory seems to do that with just about every single one of her reads. If you are looking for an author that knows how to right a good old fashioned romance that leaves you with the happiness of having read a good book. Try Tory Baker, promise you will not be disappointed.
Kinsley, is such an adorable character. I loved her from the start. She is so shy, how I feel like alot of us are. She is so sweet, and just the kind of person you just want to be around. That is how good of a writer Tory is. She creates characters that feel real. So the basis of the story is our shy sweet girl Kinsley crushes on Luke. But he has his nose in his phone, or to his ear all the time. She thought to get his attention, to at least look at something other than his phone, with notes with his coffee. When that does not work, or so she thinks, she finally talks to him. Now she has his attention. All of his attention.
I cannot recommend this book enough. Just a fun, sweet read that will make you a fan of Tory, that is if you are not already one. If you are, then you know exactly what I am talking about!!
Beautiful romantic story. Kinsley owns her own coffee shop and sees every day the man in the suit he comes in for his coffee but he is always on his phone one day he tells her his name while she leaves messages on his coffee cup. Luke is an attorney and is always busy he gets his morning coffee notices Kinsley but has never done anything about it until she starts leaving messages on his coffee cup he knows he needs to take action. On the week end he gets his coffee and stays and does his work on one of the tables he asks Kinsley out on a date. They hit it off straight away the relationship moving along quickly but they love each other and wouldn’t have it any other way they have both cut their own hours down at work and Kinsley makes Kate manager and Luke delegates more of his work out so they can make more time for each other. Luke asks Kinsley to move in with him it’s the next step in their relationship they also gets all the parents together and hLuke asks Kinsleys parents permission to marry Kinsley. Keep reading the book and you will find out how he proposes.
ONE FANTASTIC VALENTINE'S TREAT!!! Breathtaking! Tory presents one unbelievable, heart pounding, pulse racing, sweet treat that hits the right spot every time, blazing this baby to life brilliantly. A raging tempest thrusts those swirling emotions into a tizzy with outstanding, fun-filled results. Sparks fly as drama, intrigue, mischief and an over the top alpha male deliciousness, comes into play. Exhibiting thrilling well rounded scenario's ramping up the exuberance and adrenaline with such intensity, testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. The undeniable attraction and intense chemistry sizzles as each layer is peeled back exposing a deep connection and amplifying affections, binding them together perfectly. The characters are authentic and realistic with depth and qualities that transform into amazing personalities. The scenes are so abundantly detailed and descriptive to give you a full understanding and realism that balance and blend smoothly. Magnificent job Tory, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
The blurb of this book was really awesome. Unfortunately it is not at all what the book is. The characters are so sugar sweet that it was just too much for me. The possessive and protective man was not in the story. How she wins him is not an issue because she does not - he contacts her. We do not hear anything about was the blurb says. The chemistry is okay but there is not one thing that came as a surprise. Everything is just plain boring. The story is written in dual POV which I normally find the best way to tell a story, but here it results in that the story is told in very small pieces. It feelsl abrupt at times and has no depth in it . Sorry, but this story could be so much more than it is. A lot of pages without action, some steam (very poor written) and just plain boring stuff. Several times there is a mention of the heroin does not lock her door so I was - stupidly - waiting for some action because of that. But it never came. It was just a teaser that was not used for anything.
I kind of loved this story. The characters were great, including the secondary characters, and they were relatable. Kate needs a book too!
Kinsley is the owner of a coffee shop/bookstore called Topped Off. Every morning, a hot guy comes in and orders a black coffee. Kinsley thinks he's kind of a jerk. He doesn’t seem to be interested in anything except his phone. On a whim, Kinsley decides to write little messages on his cup. Maybe it will make him stop and re-think his attachment to his phone and enjoy life a little.
Luke Drake lives and breathes his job. He is used to a routine and keeping his world calm. On his way to work, he stops and gets a coffee. But he also gets to see Kinsley. Once he sees her beauty it takes his breath away and he’s not letting her get away. She’s meant to be his.
I loved how great Luke and Kinsley were together. I loved their happy ever after. I definitely recommend reading this book.

The minute I realized this story was about a coffee/book shop owner I knew it was a book for me. I was right, I adored this book and how Tory managed to write an amazing story without having to have any drama or conflict.
Messages on a coffee cup are all it takes for Luke to notice the stunning barista he sees behind the counter daily and finally make a move to ask Kinsley on a date.
I really enjoyed that their relationship moved like you'd expect one to do, naturally with no rush to jump into bed together...it happens of course but not at the first date or even second. I appreciate an author who can show character depth and relationship development without resorting to physical intimacy as a way to do so.
Also, Tory manages to write amazing books without requiring there to be some sort of drama, disagreement or misunderstanding. Most authors consider this a must in their books and it's one more thing that I think helps Tori stand apart in the best way.
Kinsley runs a coffee shop and every morning like clockwork Luke comes in for his coffee. Everyone stops to stare at him but he's usually busy on his phone to really notice anyone. Then one day he comes in and isn't on his phone Kinsley actually gets to talk to him. Sparks fly between them and he can't stop thinking about her. When he gets to his office and opens his coffee to drink it he sees a message she put in his coffee. He wonders if he has missed this before or if she just started doing it. He went in the next day and got another message in his coffee. Its not long before he makes his move and asks Kinsley out. Will Kinsley change his workaholic ways?
This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Kinsley has noticed the gruff and mysterious Luke coming into her coffee shop. Same thing just a different day but there’s just something that draws her to him. But he’s never given her a reason to believe he’s interested.
Luke visits the coffee shopped owned by Kinsley, the only woman to hold his interest. He’s not a friendly man, hardworking and focused yes, but maybe it’s finally time to make his move on her. And his resolve is strengthened with one little note.
Luke goes to the coffee shop and stakes his claim. Dinner and more. What Kinsley didn’t expect was to enjoy the dominant side of Luke. When dinner turns into more than eating and a need for forever, they both give in willingly.
Luke just hits all the buttons for our ideal book boyfriend. Strong, protective, and loving with his woman. This is a sweet HEA perfect for Valentine’s Day!
This is the third book of the Sweet Enough to Eat series and like the other books, it did not disappoint.
Kinsley owns Top Off coffee shop. Every day she swoons over grumpy Luke, an attorney, when he comes in for his coffee. He is always so busy and on his phone though to interact with her.
Kinsley has been leaving notes on Luke's coffee cups, and this one day, he actually notices it for the first time and it makes him happy. He has been thinking of Kinsley since the first time he saw her.
One day, he decides to ask her out and she agrees and is beside herself with joy. The two have an insta-love connection right off the bat and together they find their hea!
This is a sweet little 86 page Valentine themed novella. It's the story of a whirlwind romance. Luke finally gets his nose away from his phone long enough to ask Kinsley out on a date and they go from zero to sixty in no time at all. That's the only date they go on. After that it's carry in, Netflix and chill. Soon they're meeting the parents and it can't be more than a month before she moves in with him. That's the basic storyline but the joy is in the details that you should discover for yourself.
Take this for what it is—a story that's not supposed to be serious or even necessarily believable. It's just a cute little fantasy meant put you in the mood for Valentine's Day. Have fun with it.
Sweet Nothings, Tory Baker's contribution to the Sweet Enough to Eat series, serves up a pretty realistic love story. Workaholic hero finally notices the pretty coffee shopkeeper and asks her out. While a short read, there is a definite progression to their relationship. No drama, just a genuine portrayal of two deserving people falling in love with one another. Very much recommend this read!
I received a free ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was another great read by Tory Baker. In Sweet Nothings we meet work obsessed Luke and Kinsley, also a career driven coffee shop owner. Kinsley watches Luke come in every morning for his black coffee. If only he would stick around for a bit but he is always in a rush. But when Kinsley begins leaving sweet messages on his coffee cup, Luke makes a point to get to know the sexy barista better. Things heat up quickly between them and Luke and Kinsley know they have found their soulmate. 5 stars! Hoping Kate gets her story!
A very sweet romance by Author Tory Baker. We get to meet Kinsley & Luke who has a crush on the owner at a coffeeshop. Luke is a lawyer, and grabs his coffee each morning and realize that a sweet message from Kinsley is on his coffee cup. He takes notice and asks Kinsley out. This then turns into a sweet romance who can't imagine life without the other. Totally sweet and sugary! Short story with all the feels! Grab this book and don't forget your coffee too! ***5 stars all the way***
