Music and longing collide in this ballad of unrequited love!
Nino Arisugawa, a girl who loves to sing, experiences her first heart-wrenching goodbye when her beloved childhood friend, Momo, moves away. And after Nino befriends Yuzu, a music composer, she experiences another sad parting! Luckily, Nino reunites with Momo and Yuzu in high school, but things haven’t played out the way anyone expected…
With Yuzu back in Japan, In No Hurry’s yearlong hiatus is over! As the band sets out with excitement and trepidation to perform on Rock Horizon’s largest stage, how will Yuzu reconcile his past with his present? There’s no turning back once everyone’s secrets are laid bare!
I don't understand what the author wanted to show with this story. Why make Nino go through all those thoughtful revelations (that she sang so focused on Momo that she didn't think about what she would do when she did have him, and that the one who helped her sing all along was Yuzu) and then make her end up with Momo and not Yuzu? It passed me the message that, despite me thinking Nino had changed, she went right back to the selfish girl I'd seen from the beginning of the story. I've never seen a protagonist as self-centered as Nino, which angers me a little. Not sure why I was so surprised by her decision, given that fact. Anyway. Other characters had some kind of development, like Yuzu himself (that was nicely handled), Kuro (a little shallow, but okay - not sure if it's worth commenting about that), Miou and Haruyoshi, and so on, but not the protagonist herself? In the end, Nino and Momo cling onto the memory from childhood throughout their entire story arc, without regarding that they might not be the same people they were when they were kids. Disregarding everything they lived in between. Forgive the comparison, but that's something Ao Haru Ride did well. Futaba and Kou liked each other when they were children and, when they reunite in high school, they realize they've changed. But, after trying to go back to the way things were, they learn to love the new versions of themselves. I don't feel like that happens in Fukumenkei Noise. Nino and Momo are just together because that was expected. I'm sorry, but I simply can't empathize with Momo. I tried. I don't like that character at all. I like a few things about Nino, but nothing about him. But I feel like things wouldn't go so smoothly between him and Yuzu if Nino had chosen the latter. Momo wouldn't have been so mature about the situation like Yuzu. So, yeah. I am glad Yuzu got to be happy and conquer the world. I think he deserved more, but at the same time Nino didn't deserve him. She and Momo deserve each other, because I don't think either of them showed much development. (They don't have any chemistry!!! They're just so shallow, sorry). As much as it sounds like I'm just bitter because "my ship didn't sail", I think it's more than that. I can live with couples I like not ending up together. What I don't like is poorly-handled plots and characters. If the rest of the story makes up for it, I'm okay with that. This isn't the case. Forgive the salty rant. I needed to get this out.

What a beautiful and amazing conclusion to this series!
After all the tears I wanted to cry because of heartbreak and such in these last few volumes, I was unsure how much I would love this final volume. However, it was perfect.
It truly was everything I had wanted and loved how it truly wrapped up (referring to those last few pages).
It was absolutely beautiful and I definitely cried a little bit when reading this one. Lots of good and new things on the horizon for these amazing characters. <3
I would definitely recommend this series! It will be a special one in my heart after reading it because I cannot get over how all of them grew so much and just how powerfully they impacted me.
I have to say I'm so disappointed. I never leave a review or comment, but I loved this series so much until this point. It should have been Yuzu, the development and chemistry was blatantly there. I never thought the author would do it so dirty like that. Everyone else made the progress and grew, then they just left all that behind with Nino. She made such progress and then dropped all of it for Momo. There is no chemistry between them, they are significantly different people from when they were children and they just don't fit at all. I had hope right until that last moment that the mangaka would give Yuzu what he deserved...

Like.
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH Can't believe I finally finished reading this!!!!
Overall, this series had its downs, but I would like to focus on the good things this series had first. For one, I always loved the Rock Horizon arcs they do. In fact, the Rock Horizon art/story in this last volume is probably the best one yet. You can see the effort and the details Fukuyama-sensei drew and put into this. I'm also happy to have seen everyone developed so much throughout the course of this series (besides Momo who I felt only developed a little but more on that later). I said it during the first volume reviews I did, but I really hoped to see some character developments into these leads and I am glad I got to see them. One of my common issues with mangas as well is how sometimes you can feel the mangaka trying to elongate the story even though it should have been finished a few volumes ago, and while there were some bad volumes here, I'm glad she was able to pull through during the last 4 volumes to give us readers a satisfying conclusion.
Now time for the bad ones. I mean when I first read into this, I had a feeling that Nino and Momo would probably end up together. Nonetheless, I am pretty bummed at it happening. Throughout the story, it has always been Yuzu who has been supporting Nino. It has always been Yuzu besides Nino. And then Nino still chooses Momo in the end? I guess one of my main problems here is that while we do see that Momo has feelings for Nino, it was not as shown as much as how Yuzu really cared and appreciated for Alice.
For me, Yuzu was really the best character in this series and seeing him grow was probably my most favorite part here. I guess the second-lead syndrome was strong on this one, huh?
Anyway, thank you Fukuyama-sensei! And to anyone planning on reading this, this is not a perfect series in any means, but if you like angst and rock music, you might like this one as well.
It’s been months since I’ve finished reading this, and I’m still pissed.
It feels like the author got lazy at the end, or changed their mind last minute. That’s the only reason I can think of as to why Alice ended up with Momo, when the entire series built it up the other way. It would have been disappointing but still fair had Momo played a bigger part in the entire series, or had more focus/growth on his relationship with Alice, but it felt like he played a minor role the entire time. It felt like we were being led in one direction only to have the rug pulled out from under us. It felt deceptive and cheap, and that’s why I’m so mad (and I usually don’t get this angry over how series end, even if I don’t agree with it).
Alice showed immense growth whenever she WASN’T with Momo, and it seemed clear to me that their relationship wasn’t healthy for either of them. With Yuzu, Alice flourished. He encouraged her to push her boundaries, called her out on her bullshit, and was willing to let her go when he felt that would be what was best for her. Those are all the traits the main love interest usually - and should - have. I only saw her going backwards whenever she was with Momo, and didn’t understand her obsession with him. It felt like she was holding onto a dream from her childhood, and refusing to see who he grew up to be.
So yeah, the friendship arc was cute but it didn’t feel satisfying at all with everything the rest of the series seemed to build up to. It would have been more impactful had she realized that while she loved Momo at an earlier time in her life, they both grew up and grew apart and it was time for her to let that childhood romance go.

although I'm ultimately disappointed the author teased us about our mc ending up with another character, the way this story ended was actually incredibly perfect and I've realised this is probably the best ending we could have gotten. so fucking heartfelt and beautiful and just..... tender
A beautiful end to the series. I did still want her to end up with Yuzu...I just felt their connection so much more than the one she had with Momo. But, oh well--"First Boy Wins" again, I guess.
Still, it's very clear that Yuzu is even more dear and important to her than Momo...and bonds of love and affection don't always have to be romantic. So long as they can sing together, they'll be closer to each other than anyone else...and that makes it a happy enough ending, even if it might still be a little rough on Yuzu.

Ah, a good end to an awesome, addictive series. All the characters have matured wonderfully and have learned that they can be together but also be independent. Ah, so nice to see that in YA stuff.
While everything wrapped up happily in ways that I was hoping for, I can’t help but feel it was a tad anticlimactic. After all, there was so much angst and build up (especially with the three main protagonists), but there wasn’t much time spent getting that closure before the last chapter (which feels like an incomplete epilogue). For instance, when Nino and Momo finally get their make-up moment, it went by so quickly and didn’t delve into their thoughts as much as previous encounters. Then boom! Two years later everyone’s doing their post-high school stuff but wait! We’ve got an Inohari meeting! As I said, it’s all sweet but the rush left me feeling a bit unsatisfied.
Mostly, I’m unsatisfied that the romance didn’t get more attention in the end since it got soooo much attention throughout the series. I want to know more about Nino and Momo. Are they more open with their feelings now? Do they embrace more now? And I do like that Nino is set on living on her own first, what kinds of things have they planned for their relationship? I want to know!
I’m hoping somewhere down the line there’ll be some nice epilogue chapters, but until then I’m happy with this ending.
PS. I watched the anime series first, then binged all the manga in two days because I just couldn’t get enough!
PPS. Discovered the live-action film, and oh my! The OST's pretty cool too, and there were some nice moments that I really liked, but the ending! Aiyah! To be fair, it came out while the manga series was still ongoing, but the film gave the impression that she chose Yuzu over Momo... and it also made Momo seem like a butt. Oh well.

Overall one of the most enjoyable reads I’ve had in a while, the last volume gets a 4 star instead of 5 because although most of the character arcs were ended really well the main love triangle didn’t resolve in a satisfying way for me personally. I felt as though the author put so much stock into the growth and love developed between Yuzu and Nino that it made no sense for Nino to not change. She still always went back to Momo for no real solid reason. He generally treated her like an object for most of the story. For her to not realize that her love for Momo was in the past, very superficial, and almost entirely physical blows my mind. Yuzu clearly not only loved her in word and song but in every action he took.
The deeper love she experienced with Yuzu should have ended in them being together based on how the story itself was told. I get that the author was trying to make Nino’s love for Yuzu transcend sexual attraction but it fell so flat. Physical attraction is so much less important than who the person is. Instead of elevating Nino’s love it did the exact opposite, it cheapened it. It was as if the story built up to a climax that didn’t happen. If Momo was to be the ultimate love interest then he should have been made far more likable from the beginning and had way more screen time to justify her decision which ultimately felt shallow, petty, and stuck in the past.
All that to say, I’m definitely team Yuzu and he needs a spin off manga all his own where he gets a girl who really loves him because man, he’s just stellar.

I was so conflicted when rating this volume because it was soooo much better to me than the previous few volumes. I will say that I don’t like the Momo/Nino relationship because it’s just so toxic but I also don’t like Nino with Yuzu because he deserves better so I guess it worked out. I enjoyed the flow of this manga until the epilogue. Everything felt too wrapped up & perfect considering how angsty the whole series was. Although I don’t expect them to necessarily carry all of these feelings into adulthood (because let’s admit it, we usually feel everything more intensely as teenagers) I also felt like they matured too quickly in such a short period of time. Overall a series I loved in the beginning, was incredibly bored by in the middle, then left with lukewarm feelings after the conclusion.

Honestly the series ends how I expected, not making sense and a bit annoying. The band gets back together and has the best show in the whole series, that was the good. Suddenly Nino doesn't sing bad, which was a major annoying point throughout the series. Nino sings great and at the end she does what she has done the whole series, suddenly leave the stage and go after Momo to confess her love once again. The lack of stable character growth in Nino, it does happen and then back slides, is annoying.

I can't believe it's over. I also can't give it a full 5 stars because even though it ended exactly how I thought it would, the missing star is for Yuzu. I loved this series overall.
An, ¿Para qué introducir un personaje a varios tomos a terminar?
Miou no me importa. Ni el we enamorado de ella, es como un capricho de él.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

SERIES DONE! I enjoyed it. Not groundbreaking or anything probably won't read again. But I do plan to watch the anime. I wanna see how the music is interpreted for the anime. I don't expect it to get the Nana treatment. But I kinda wanna hear these damn songs.
So Nino makes her choice and confesses. I honestly didn't care who she ended up with since I didn't care how Momo and Yuzu (I think the short ones name is Yuzu. I became unable to tell them apart after a while, since they look so damn similar. Both have black hair except one's hair is wavy/curly. One's taller than the other and one wears glasses and the other doesn't.) treat Nino as if she is some type of thing to own simply because of her singing. I hated the I only want her singing my songs shit they had going on.
I did like the little time skip. It went from Yuzu returning from his travels. Them playing their big show. And then jumps to them being 20/21 and in/starting college.
I love that ending. Nino and Yuzu’s friendship was so precious. I wanted more for them earlier in the series but then I realized that this wasn’t a love triangle. It was always Momo for Nino. She made that clear throughout the series.
Overall I give this series a 3.5/5 stars! It would be higher if the middle chunk of volumes were condensed lol. It felt like the story didn’t move much in the middle of the series. I also felt like the author wanted to piss everyone off by having Momo and Nino break up after waiting so long for them to get together in the first place. Gave us Yuzu lovers some false hope!!! Lol. I also think the concert scenes would be better if we could at least see the lyrics since we can’t literally hear them. There were snippets of lyrics but it wasn’t enough! Anyway on to the good, I have to say that the best part of this series is the characters and their friendships with one another. That’s what kept me reading.
Just finished the final volume of this series, and it was a very satisfying ending. It felt like a well paced ending that had laid everything out for the ending in the last volume and tied up the loose threads in this one. I really like how the characters changed and grew over the course of the series, and I feel like their endings were very appropriate and fitting for their personalities and for the way the series had been going. Over all the series was very enjoyable and I really liked all the characters and the general plot. I think in a way, when I get the time, I do want to read the whole thing again, in one go so I can really digest the series, but I don't think my opinion of the series would lessen by doing this. It is a series I would be likely to recommend to others.
This ending was so disappointing (spoilers ahead so don't read further if you don't want it to be ruined). I mean I'm glad the band got back together and managed to do a concert at the summer music festival and play on the giant main stage finally, which took up about half of the manga getting through that, but I am unhappy that Nino choses Momo to end up with (I frankly didn't think he was worth her time, despite my love of meganes and the fact he reminded me of my favorite one from OHSHC Kyoyo Ootori) and Yuzu to do music with forever. I mean they end up close friends but Yuzu needed her and was actually in love with her, whereas I was never sure if Momo actually was past when he was a little kid. Recommended for ages 14+, 3 stars.
"I'm shaking. The thrill of our return, the unexpected possibilities, the roar of the crowd... It's all blending together into the most wonderful noise."
Ah, the finale! This series has so many things I love about bands, concerts, and the way rock 'n roll can make you feel forever young! The chemistry of the entire cast was great. I'll miss reading about them.
It makes me a little sad that "Nosatsu Junkie" (another manga by the same creator) was never finished in English translation. Someone, please pick it up and release it. Because it was pretty special too.
Now I have the manga blues, like after a great summer concert ends. Electrified by the experience, but wanting one more song...
Two times I stopped myself from crying, in total. Its probably nostalgia actually. Feels like a while ago, when I started this series & now it's all over. I mean, it's not completely over mind you, because after finishing the series, I'll be watching the anime adaption, but... it's over in the literal sense of the books. I don't know what to think or feel, in terms of the way the story ended. I guess, Nino was always gonna end up with Momo, because she started out with him, but I guess as always, with choosing between second lead & main, I still hoped somehow she'd choose yuzu. But, it was never gonna be. I'm just happy also, that every character got what they wanted.

I listened to the music when reading this manga and I felt like I was at their concert watching them play. It was so emotional. And when my ship sailed, the tears that was threatening to spill over finally did and the emotions running through me was so great. And as I was reading the last few pages Wednesday beauty was coming to an end, which was the perfect song to end this masterpiece of a manga series. I hope everyone else that made it this far loved it was much as I did ❤ even if their ship didn't sail 😜
This is the final volume in the Shojo series Anonymous Noise. This is a story about a group of high school students who are brought together (and perhaps driven apart) by music, and their big secret that they are actually part of a real band. Their band personas are inspired by Alice in Wonderland which was also an extra detail that I really enjoyed. As this is a Shojo series, the ending wrapped up predictably but I really enjoyed watching the characters grow and seeing things play out. Maybe it's time to watch the anime now!
Fiiiiiiinally finished this series, and I’m actually really glad I went back to it after forgetting all about it for several years. Even though part of me dislikes how things end up (I would 100% pick Yuzu over Momo too!), something about it also just feels…really kind of perfect.
Well worth a read if you like band drama, weirdly thrilling rock festival performances, and some pretty major character growth. I probably won’t read this again, but dang, is a lot of it going to stick with me anyway!
4 stars My final thoughts on the series now that it's completed... Great story, art, and fully realized characters, the only problem was the pacing. The series started strong then fell into repetition for far too long in the middle, only to finally pick up in the last two volumes. If the story were to be tightened up four or five volumes could have been cut easily. The anime was able to keep that pace, here's to hoping they decide to finish it.
