Michael Wagner’s lost his hearing and career. Andrew Conagher’s lost his dad, and is struggling to pick up the pieces. All they have is their soldier's support group..and each other.
Unexpected love meets helpless angst! If hurt/comfort, arguments, mini-golf, and steamy situations in precarious places is your cup of tea, Falling For His Comrade is the perfect gateway to the hot military men of Buckhorn, Missouri—if you’re willing to let them take control for a little while….
I actually really enjoyed this pairing and their age gap. Theirs was an interesting story and I really enjoy the surprise of a young, new, innocent guy being the one to teach his older boyfriend how to be in a healthy relationship. I'd listen to this one again.
I loved this story as it delved deeply into the PTSD problems of the veterans in the Armed Forces. Not being able to cope with his medical discharge from the military, Michael is referred to G-Mil, a military support group for gays. He meets Andrew, a much younger man, and starts a relationship with him until his PTSD acts up. Michael is in denial until he finds out Andrew’s ghosts and worries. This story helped me figure out some of the ways others cope with their PTSD.

Unprotected sex, especially without “the talk” first, always makes me a little queasy. I start worrying about what other dangerous decisions the characters might be making.
I had some trouble really getting a handle on these two. Andrew has some pretty serious, and unresolved, daddy issues. I makes his relationship with a man 15 years his senior and with the same PTSD issues his father had, feel a little unhealthy. He’s also very needy and felt even younger than his 21 years.
: The romance and connection was good, I liked the friendship dynamics between the characters. What I didn’t like was the misinformation about moderate unilateral hearing loss and the military. It was easy to find that the American military is accepting of moderate hearing loss. And they have other jobs for people to work on base in the event soldiers loose their hearing on tour. Other than that, it was a good collection of stories.
When I started reading this story, I could not put it down. I read the book in one day. This author is an awesome writer. I can not wait to read more of their books. Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.

Was it just me or was this story kind of a mess? My gaydar didn't go off with either of the main characters and I kept getting mixed up over which POV we were following. I also didn't see any reason for a long-lasting relationship. Not to mention that Andrew was the whitest black guy that I've ever met. The math just didn't add up.
I loved this book, it was so good. Michael had a lot going on and he really needed a helping hand, just someone to be there for him. Andrew was so strong and ao mature for his age, I loved how he dealt with Michael, he didn't give up, he was there no matter what. That's how couples are supposed to be, they fit so well together, I loved them
The chemistry between the two main characters was explosive, they were amazing together. Really well written book. It broke my heart but I really loved reading about Micheal and Andrew and their journey.
I read these from a bundle. Every single book was great. M/M romance, but it wasn't dramatic. It was never about them being gay but about them falling in love. There are sex scenes, but I believe it helps the story. Some books are just about sex but not these books. It is about romance.
AUDIBLE i loved how all 4 books revolve around G-mil a support group ran by Cory and Andrew. Book 1 is Andrew and Michael and deals with loss of hearing, PTSD and alcoholism and a HEA.
This is the first book by a new author. It took me a while to get into it. I was reading and listening to the audiobook and felt my mind drifting at times. However, the story became more entertaining as it went along. I particularly think the descriptions of Michael's PTSD are believable and well researched. I recognize myself in some of it.
The couple work well together. Michael needs someone like Andrew, but I was pleased to see Andrew realise that their relationship wouldn't be healthy unless Michael got help.
I like hot sex in my reads, but dare I say it? I think the storyline relied a little too much on these scenes at the expense of further development of their relationship.
The narration by Lance Adams is very good. A new voice to me, it took a couple of chapters to get used to, but I found him to be clear and expressive.
I will certainly read the next book in the series. (Hopefully, this book will have fewer grammar errors.)
Andrew is having a hard time getting over the death of this father. Michael is not happy that he is being discharged because he lost the hearing in one ear. Andrew and Michael meet at one of the G-MIL meetings. They see each other several times and finally agree to go on a date. Over the next couple of months they get to know each other. Michael gets 2 months before he is finally discharged, so they go on a trip to Michaels hometown. While in Gatlinburg they go watch fireworks. The next day Michael is different and does not want to be around anyone. Can Andrew bring Michael out of his depression? Can they make it work? What will happen when Michael is completely discharged?

Michael goes to an off base group meeting for military men and meets Andrew. Michael is diagnosed with having deafness in one ear after an incident with an IED which results with him being discharged. No knowing what the future holds he attends a meeting of G-MIL to try and get himself sorted with his new future. There he encounters Andrew the son of the recently pasted founder of the group and the two find themselves drawn to one another. As all the paperwork for his discharged is processed the pair get closer.

Michael and Andrew meet at a group session to discuss issues related to the military life and deployments. The chemistry is immediate. The relationship is developed realistically, and the characters’ emotional baggage makes the meeting in a group setting very credible.
For me the last third was a bit forced, as though a publishing deadline was approaching and everything needed to be tied up fast.

A military story of 2 men who are dealing with loss finding each other. Andrew is running his father's support group with Cory one of the original finders of the group, in honor of his dad who has just passed away. Michael is being discharged due to hearing loss from an I'd on his last deployment. He is lost what will he do without the military and his hearing. He goes to the group and see Andrew. This is their story. Enjoy.

Falling for His Comrade was an interesting book, which started with a lot of sensual heat, which was tasteful and carried through the entire story.
The storyline followed the ups and downs of a relatiinship , which began as a friendship but very quickly developed into a relationship. The story touched upon serious subjects such as PTSD and alcoholism, and it was tastefully intertwined into a story of love and friendship.
I recommend this book and look forward to reading more of Jamie June's books.
This is a well written book with strong characters and an emotional story and realistic line. The author does a great job building the story and developing the characters , bringing Andrew and Michael together at a group session meeting that deals with military related issues. They have an instant chemistry. This is their story. I enjoyed reading.

3.5 stars The beginning of the story was a bit boring, I almost didn’t give it a chance, but I’m so happy I kept reading. The sex was hot but unprotected, no discussion about condoms or tests, which I don’t like. But Andrew was a sweetheart and Michael really needed him in his life. The story started to get better when emotions came into play and the drama that followed. I’ll definitely will read the next book in this series, and I will ignore the cheesy titles ;)!
A well written story full of emotions and finding that one person who grounds you. Andrew and Michael met in a military support group. They had lots in common, both had baggage and they were drawn to one another. Will they be able to move on and have their happy ending?
