Sunny Springs Scandal

Rate this book
I'm in love with Bad boy Daniel Bellamy. Things were just starting to look up for a moment, but then my best friend Karen, who's been busy with her own love life, has come to me with fears of being pregnant!

Suddenly life is a whole lot more complicated! And on top of that, I overheard some boys laughing about a s*x club and when I see the video that they are all excited about, I freak. It totally looks like Daniel might be involved!

Now I have to figure out who is behind the club, help Karen through her fears, and hold on to Daniel while still managing to pass my exams, because I'm not about to give up my spot as valedictorian!

WARNING: Sunny Springs High is a Young Adult / New Adult series filled with everything you could want with laughs, tears, and angst. This series is recommended for mature readers because of cursing and 'certain scenes'.

If that bothers you, then stay far away. If not, start reading and enjoy!

Video Sex Scandal hits Sunny Springs High School!

Helena and her new boyfriend Daniel are just getting into their relationship after the problems they faced with football player Jay who turned out to be a really bad guy who set out to take advantage of Helena. Now Helena is helping her friend Karen deal with a possible teen pregnancy and she has overheard some underclassmen looking at a video of a website of some sort of club where a girl sounded like she was being abused in some way. Helena is determined to get to the bottom of it because once she dies it becomes apparent that it just might involve Daniel.

We hear a lot about high school and college boys playing stupid games with girls involving date rape drugs, bullying, videos, sexting pictures to more than just the intended party, and other forms of behavior like this in our culture. It seems so cruel and really stupid when you think about it since a lot of it is criminal and can be eventually traced back to the person who sent it, but people still do it. This is one of those examples.

The things the guys do in this club are almost ridiculous in their utter dumbassedness but guys do stupid things especially when they are young and to prove their sexual prowess to other guys. We have all seen it. So this book is not something that couldn’t or doesn’t happen. The ending might be, but it is a romance novel. BTW - Cliffhanger alert! 🚨

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

In Book #2 we read as Helena and her bully now turned boyfriend Daniel are heating things up and working out where they stand with one another and experimenting their newfound love and spending lots of time together. Thus has had a domino effect as it means Helena hasn't been spending a lot of time with her best friend Karen. Karen has started to hang around more with Payton who is known to be a bit easy and a party animal. Also, Payton in this story has her own little high school harem going on, she reminded me of a female John Tucker from the 2000's movie John Tucker Must Die. With Karen partying and drinking, she has found herself on the receiving ends of a few hookups and now she has come to Helena thinking she might be pregnant. A video surfaces around the school of a girl crying and guys filming her, this leads Helena to investigate with Daniel's help. It turns out there is a boys club going around called the CR Club. We later learn CR stands for Condom Removal which the girls don't know and it looks like Karen might have been one of their victims as she blacked out and can't remember having sex yet a video of her is surfacing amongst the other female victims. What will happen to Helena's trust in Daniel when it looks like in the past he was privy to the CR group. Who can she trust now? Sunny Springs Scandal ends on a cliffhanger that leaves Helena and Daniel's relationship in the air. Find out what really is happening to Karen and more in Book #2 Sunny Springs Scandal by Arlo Arrow and Elizabeth A. Lance today.

This is book 2 in the Sunny Springs High series. Daniel & Helena are a new couple with your typical boyfriend/girlfriend conflict. When a huge scandal rocks Helena can she trust Daniel.
This story has so much going on. Two amazing people trying to make it as a couple, drama surrounding them and putting their relationship to the test. Another amazing story written by an amazing duo!

There is no shortage of angst, romance, and mystery in Sunny Springs Scandal, the second book in the series. It is a great follow-up to the first book, Sunny Spring Secrets.

I really enjoyed the first book, but this one was even better. Helena and Daniel are in love and going strong. However, she notices that her BFF, Karen, is acting strange. Karen soon comes to her, panicked that she may be pregnant. As Helena listens to Karen, she realizes that a possible pregnancy is just part of the problem, especially when a horrible video emerges of a girl possibly being assaulted. If that wasn’t bad enough, she thinks Daniel might be involved, and how does Karen connect to it?

I already loved Helena, and I love her even more in this one. Her devotion to Karen just illustrates her loyalty to those she loves. She may be a senior in high school, but she is mature way beyond her years. In addition, she has a clear sense of right and wrong and isn’t afraid to seek justice for those she thinks have been wronged. She and Daniel make such a great duo, both as a couple and a team, solving mysteries!

The authors also took on a highly sensitive topic and did it with sensitivity. The could have been more graphic, but they weren’t...thankfully. Yet, I still felt all the emotions they wanted me to.

The book does end in a cliffhanger, but I will be back because I can’t wait to see the direction that Helena and Daniel will go!!!!!

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this continuation of Daniel and Helena's story as they grow as a couple and face new drama. The story picks up after the craziness with Jay. Karen thinks she's pregnant but doesn't know for sure, to top it off, she doesn't know to whom. Now Helena is trying to get thru midterms and dealing with Karen not feeling good but she refused to go to the doctor. When coming home from school one day Helena overhears a couple or younger boys taking about the CR club and the hears the video they are watching. It is disgusting. As the weeks go by Karen still not feeling well she eventually passes out on class causing a panic. Whole researching the CR club Helena makes a few shocking discoveries, one the guys blur out their faces and the real reason it's called the CR club. Intense story with lots of passion and strong feelings.

Helena and Daniel are going strong but when she hears some guys laughing and mocking something while looking at their phones, she decides to look into it a little more. They continue to write for the school paper and their online tabloid. When Helena uncovers a huge SCANDAL, she knows that she needs to uncover the truth but as she digs deeper, she finds that Daniel might be part of it. Will the truth come out? Will Daniel be able to prove that he's a good guy? What will the scandal do to the kids of Sunny Springs? Will Daniel and Helena still be able to be together? This is a great second installment. Buckle up, it's a bumpy ride.

More scandal in Sunny Springs
These just get better and better!! Helena and Daniel are on the case again. All while navigating their young love. This time they stumble across a story of a sex club where the boys are having dubious sex with girls (in some cases they're drunk or drugged) recording them without consent and loading it to the club site. Although, the guys identities are blurred Helena sees a video and the boy looks like her Daniel from the back. It can't be her Daniel, can it? Read the story to find out. You won't regret a minute spent wrapped up in this story. Can't wait for more.

I liked the added drama of the mystery in this story. Convinced something terrible is going on when she overhears a conversation, our main character decides that a bit of Nancy Drew resides inside her and goes after the answers. It was a great second book that involves more that just the drama of a high school romance, it provides something that moves beyond the romance and into something that might be relatable and realistic in real life unfortunately. The story was horrifying regarding the mystery but also entertaining regarding the evolving relationship and friendships for our main character.

If you read book one then you know all about Helena, Daniel and Sunny Springs High. If you haven't started this series I highly recommend you start from book one so you don't miss out on anything. In this book we get the typical high school drama, gossip, teen problems and young love. But when scandal hits Sunny Springs everything gets complicated. Great writing, an entertaining story and a great group of characters make this a must read. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Very enjoyable great reading

I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters. I can't wait to see what will happen next for them since Daniel's foster mom wants to move to San Diego. Helena and Daniel have done good work for the school paper and their website with some of the scandals they have uncovered at their school.

My first impressions looking at this Sunny Springs High school series was that it would be teasing and teen drama in the high school newspaper office... what we got was must more in the same vein as Veronica Mars but presented like 90s Sabrina solving crimes with Harvey. Helena is a fantastic heroine, shes supportive of her friends and her empathy for the plight of girls in her school coupled with her determination to get justice and balance the scales was done in a way that didn't make her unlikable or air-headed. When her best friend is possibly the unfortunate subject of a heinous video on an underbelly club run by guys targeting the girls they either drugged or hooked up for sex shaming and humiliation. She is all systems go to solve the case and it all gets complicated when Karen reveals she may actually be pregnant, and Daniel, her boyfriend bares a strikingly resemblance to one of the jerks in a video on the CR Clubs secret website. Its deals with hard topics without getting gritty or dark.

Helena and Daniel are such a wonderful teen couple! Not only are they caring and considerate of each other, but they also extend that consideration to everyone else too. When Helena hears a girl crying on a video, she is very affected by it. She is so bothered by it that she goes digging to find out who it is and what it's about. She is also very concerned about her friend and tries to help her when she suspects she might be pregnant. I was very frustrated with Karen, but her desperation to hide it from her parents was realistic for a girl her age. Most of the characters in this story do act like real teenagers, which is something I really appreciate after reading so many books in which teens act like jaded adults.

This is a good sequel to the first book, and I'm looking forward to listening to the next one.

The second book in this series and is just as good as the first. Loved the characters and their friends. She is trying to help her friend with her fears of being pregnant and being with Daniel all while still trying to do good at school. Now she has other things to worry about and how to fix them.
