FAKE FIANCE TO MY BEST FRIEND.
Who said it is love?

Nothing compares meeting up with your best friend after so many years,
But our meeting was ruined by his ex.
Ben was trapped.
His ex was serious trouble.
So, I offered to help.
A fake fiancé arrangement didn’t seem too bad.
But soon, the boundaries start to get blurred and the feelings that were supposed to be fake…become real.
The way he looked at me…
The way he inhaled me…
The way he touched me…
It was the kinda love I’d always wanted.

And when I thought our life was getting in order…
His ex is back again.
Claiming to be pregnant with his child!
Oh God, what I’ve gotten myself into?

Obsessed. I believe in second chances. And this book was a great read about that. Ben and Jessica are friends that haven't seen each other in years. Jessica comes back to town hopeful to start over. Hooking up with Ben again as friends was great but Ben had an issue that Jessica decided she would help him with. This problem brought more than they bargained for. A great read! Ben and Jessica were friends in high school until Jessica moved away but they always kept in contact. Now Jessica is back in the US and decide to meet up. Alicia is an ex of Ben’s and she doesn’t want to let go. Will a fake relationship between Ben and Jessica help get rid of her? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama. Ben and Jessica have great chemistry and the story is entertaining. I liked it.

This should be a good read.. but I couldn't seem to invest more in it while reading.. firstly, 'twas a bit too fast for me, hero and the heroine morphing into something from friendship to a romantic relationship.. they wouldn't be in a relationship, if it wasn't for the heroine initiating all the moves in the guise of helping him out.. sure at first but she was more into him, dreaming about him, non stop thinking, while hero was still rationalizing.. yes hero was attracted, but he wasn't planning on anything else yet since he just came out from a nightmarish relationship and he didn't want ruining their friendship.. but the heroine gave him all the feelers to move forward.. well this all happened in just a few short meet ups.

Well I guess this seemed to be realistic in this sense.. most guys anyway are dense when it comes to initial feelings because they're more focused on something lower lol.

Hero was kind of a wishy washy fool.. too gullible and weak for my taste.. how could he have just accepted the situation with ex, knowing what was she capable of.. how crazy and manipulative she could be.. knowing how much he wanted to get rid of her in the beginning.. just like that, without doing the math he accepted the situation?.. sure the shock was there.. and then what?.. they had been separated for about four months or more already.. the ex should have known her condition the first month she missed her period, if she was regular.. the hero should have thought of this, unless he only knew facts about horses.. the ex should be on her almost five-seven months, if we consider the weeks ex stayed away while hero and heroine were developing some kind of relationship.. the time element wasn't so clear here.. nonetheless, she should already be showing a bit of a baby bump, if the hero wasn't dumb enough to notice and question.. and her living situation?.. duh.. she had friends right?.. who were loyal to her and as bitchy as she was.. he could have acted responsibly in another way and taken care of her, not necessarily setting her up with him.. who would do that, knowing how she was, unless he intended to rekindle what they've had.

To say he already loved the heroine, being so happy with her but then without so much regard for her feelings, just outright believed a manipulative nightmarish ex, without talking to heroine right away, was downright stupid.. and offering his home to his ex right there and then, without thinking of other ways to deal with the situation, was more stupid.

How the hero handled the situation was like a headless chicken running around in circles.. I would have appreciated his noble intentions more and kind gesture towards ex, if the heroine wasn't in the equation yet.. whose feelings he had knowingly trampled and disregarded.. to think that heroine didn't matter anymore and he should focus in what was more important, because 'twas his baby and his heart sang when wicked ex put his hand on her belly, really made me want to smack this hero, if he was real.. but because 'twas not his fault, he was just an idiotic character put in some romance fiction, I'll let this pass😝.. but one good thing about this one, the author let the hero acknowledged his idiocy and let him work on it, to be a better version of himself.

I'd say heroine was smarter, doing the math in seconds regarding pregnancy and by standing her ground.. like I said, the hero taking on the responsibility for the baby was a decent and noble move, if only he thought of dealing with the situation wisely.. 'twas okay if he was just attracted to the heroine or certain feelings were just blossoming that could be nipped in the bud.. but author wrote he already loved her right and considering a future with her.. even if he didn't, he should have respected that they were friends first.. if I were the heroine, I wouldn't have spared a single feeling or thought to this kind of hero.. but as romance novels go, of course an HEA would be nicer.😝

Overall an interesting engaging read, despite my misgivings and typo errors.

Reconnecting doesn't always go smoothly when there is a stalker ex involved

*** 3 1/2 Stars ***

Obsessed by Brenda Ford is a fast-paced story about Ben and Jessica who had been close when they were in school together. But she has been living in London for years and now had to move back to her home town. Ben stayed in town and has made a good life for himself but never was able to have a long lasting relationship. When they connect again it is wonderful for both of them. But his ex Alicia has been stalking him and she pretends to still be his girlfriend to Jessica to cause trouble.
This is a nice story that was a good read. There is not a whole lot of depth to either the story-line or the characters but it is a nice light read.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

A Tear Sweet Romance

I didn't want to read this book, but glad that I did. I thought that Ben was a flake to keep falling for everything that Alicia told him,but in the end I realize that he just like everyone is looking for and most importantly needs 💘love. He is also missing his brothers and just reconnected with Jessica and moved from 0 to 100 at the drop of a hat. I really felt for him when his older brother called and they had that conversation and I was 😢crying with him. But despite the grammatical errors I enjoyed reading 📚this story. I recommend to all followers and romance readers a like even though it's to short. Oh and guys do get emotional, too.

Whoa.
That lady was crazy!
Not Jessica, but Bens ex.
Wowee.
Anyways...this best friends to lovers story was absolutely wonderful. I loved reading about ben after being introduced to his wonderfully laid-back character in Intoxicated.
The only thing I would change, would be to ADD an epilogue.
Otherwise, I would highly recommend.
Happy reading!

I loved this read. So Ben has an ex-girlfriend, who has a very hard time accepting the fact that she is an ex-girlfriend.
I loved Ben and his determination, yet hopelessness when it came to his ex-girlfriend. A perfect read.

Disappointed

I really love this author. It was a huge disappointment. The grammar was awful. Loads of errors. It didn't even seem like it was ever proofread.
I wanted to like this, but sadly I didn't.

A 3.5 star read. Fast paced. Ben, I felt bad for him. He was the abused one in the relationship with Alicia. He also wasn't good with math. Jessica, best person for Ben and she can count.
