I was expecting a little bit more of this small book. However, it sows the seeds of wanting to read more about the subject and I found really valuable the recommended readings.

All in all, it is a pleasant book on a polemical subject that explains with humour why we need to learn to accept and love our bodies.
Apart from that, you will need to figure out and look for other resources that study the subject in depth.

I can’t give this book more than two stars. Whilst I approve of the overall message I think it oversimplifies Eating Disorders, which often you cannot simply ‘mindfulness’ your way out of. Despite the illustrations containing a diverse range of bodies, both in size, skin colour and bodies with physical disabilities, the resources cited throughout and the further reading list are almost entirely from white women. It isn’t good enough to just say that BIPOC started the body positivity movement, especially when the sources you cite are almost all white cis able bodied women. Disappointing.

LOVED THIS BOOK! DEFO SUGGEST EVERY WOMAN READ THIS, TALKS ABOUT SILLY INSTA TRENDS AND DIET CULTURE AND JUST BOOSTS YOUR CONFIDENCE! ALSO GIVES YOU ACTIVITIES THAT REALLY MAKE YOU THINK AND GIVE YOU THE TOOLS TO BE CONFIDENT IN YOUR BODY AND WHO YOU ARE!
DIDN’T LIKE THE CHOPPINESS OF THE TEXT BUT THAT’S JUST MY PERSONAL PREFERENCE
Would have loved to have seen more references and representation from black and other ethnic minorities rather than just the illustrations too!
Sorry about the capitals I copied my text from my insta story 🤣

Personal rating: 4,5/5

I like this book’s visual. Hard cover, full of colored illustrations of people with sizes and colors. The only downside of this book for me is there are too many slang words and abbreviations, not really that easy to read for someone who has a beginner-intermediate level of English language.

This book is quite good for someone’s first time trying to do and learn self-love and self-acceptance to their bodies. This book may not automatically changed my mindset about body acceptance, or made me give up on diets and body goals thing, but it sure does give me a new perspective about the whole topic that is being covered in this book.

This book is a great starting point for people who are new to the world of body positivity, neutrality, anti-doet culture, intuitive eating and more. The illustrations are beautiful, it is a short enough read and Harri's words feel like they are being spoken by a friend. If you are already submerged in these topics, this book will not introduce you to any big concepts you haven't read before. I would highly recommend it to anyone beginning on this path.

this book is good, the visuals are pretty and the messages are convincing too

but why 3?

I keep skipping some parts and losing interest in the middle of reading it. maybe this is not for me because I think I have quite a strong self-appreciation on my body for now. But i think this will help when I'm having a bad day about my body.

However, this book is reccomended to people who are new to loving their own self , mentally and physically and appreciate the way God has created you.

Every so often you come across a book that is so beautifully illustrated and is filled with heart and soul to the brim that it emits love from the pages. Harri Rose has poured herself into this book, has taught readers to treasure their bodies and has indefinitely taught me to love my body.

So, in short, screw the diets eat the chocolate and dance a little. It's a fat world. Let's enjoy it.

Harri Rose has written a really good introduction to body positivity and gives lots of jumping off points for where to go next. Beautiful illustrations and easy to read. It's like a big sister speaking to you. Not written for anyone in Eating Disorder recovery but it is great for anyone who has trouble resisting diets and being kind to themselves. Made me feel more kind to myself. 5*

The illustrations and layouts made the book easy to read. The content is good and goes for acceptance to live a more freer life. While there's nothing new, the message is emphasized.

I like this book, there's nothing groundbreaking in it, but sometimes the simple messages are just as needed. The aesthetics of the book are gorgeous too and makes for an easy pick me up when needed

Short and sweet, I enjoyed the exercises in this book and it helped me further understand my relationship to my body. Additionally the artwork is incredibly inclusive of body types.

This book wasn’t for me unfortunately. The illustrations were the best bit for me. Really nice artwork.
