Ten years. Ten endless years I've waited to destroy the man who tore my family apart. But I never thought I'd get the chance... until his daughter walked into my tattoo parlour, looked me in the eye — and had no damned clue who I was.
I never planned on falling for Cassandra Deighton. She's silk scarves and manicures. I'm scars and rage. Yet I can't resist when she begs for more, my ice queen who burns with enough heat to sear the soul.
I need to end this. Before she finds out who I am. Before she gets hurt.
But I'm not the only one with secrets. We both have our scars, and if the truth comes out, we could lose everything...
Sherilee Gray is a kiwi girl and lives in beautiful New Zealand with her husband and their two children. When she isn't writing sexy contemporary and paranormal romance, searching for her next alpha hero on Pinterest, or fueling her voracious book addiction, she can be found dreaming of far off places with a mug of tea in one hand and a bar of chocolate in the other.
Beg For You is the first book in the brand new series, Rocktown Ink, by Sherilee Gray. This author has always been one that no matter what, I knew in advance that her book would check all my boxes. So I jumped in with no hesitation into this new series. And Yes, Yes, Yes! She did it again!
Cassandra (Cassy) Deighton lived in Springhaven on her family’s ranch. On the outside, it looked like she had everything. And maybe for a little while she did. But ten years ago, Cassy’s world changed when she lost her brother. She has spent the last ten years trying to make it up to her father. Trying to win his love. To no avail it would seem. Now she just wants to take back some of her freedom. To try to make something beautiful out of something ugly. So she drives to the adjacent little town next door, Rocktown, which is similar to being on the “other” side of the tracks so to speak. And she walks into Rocktown Ink, where she came face to face with a man who stole her breath away, and changed her life.
Cal is owner of Rocktown Ink and is well known for his artistic skills. When Cassy walked in, he knew right away who she was, even though she didn’t recognize him. Their lives were connected ten years ago. And because of what happened, her father tore Cal and his family’s lives apart. Cal has spent the last ten years dreaming of getting his revenge. The first thought that came into his head when Cassy came in that door was now…now would finally be his chance to pay back the man that ruined their lives.
“We were an extreme contrast. She was so petite, her frame delicate…clean. Day against night. We couldn’t have been more different.”
Cal thought of Cassy as the ice princess, holding herself above all others. He soon realized, though, that it wasn’t her at all. That when she let down her defenses, she was something else entirely. She was a woman he couldn’t get off his mind. A woman he wanted with every cell of his being. A woman he wanted for more than just one night. But if she knew who he was, she would hate him.
“I shouldn’t have feelings when it came to this woman. I couldn’t, but they were there just the same and I had no idea what to do with them.”
Cal isn’t the only one who is keeping secrets. Cassy’s father is manipulating her in such a way as to make her feel responsible to do his bidding. As a result, her time with Cal is all the more important. Because it might be all she has left.
When everything blows up in their faces, both Cal and Cassy are faced with their feelings versus their responsibilities to their families. Both are faced with losing everything.
I Loved This Book!!! Cal was damaged…but…he was also every bit an alpha hero with the ‘Mine’ mentality I love so much. This was super steamy, sweet, sigh worthy and swoony. “S” words that I love!!! I’m not sure who is next in this series but you can bet that I will be waiting impatiently to find out.
Beg For Me is a smoldering tale of the ice princess and tattooed beast from opposing worlds, who shouldn’t be together yet circumstances from their pasts connect them.
"I came to you because you....you made me feel alive Cal. You make me feel more like me I’ve kept hidden my whole life, the me I want to be."
Cassy Deighton carries both mental and physical scars from an accident that left her broken and her brother dead. With a father that demands the impossible from her, she can no longer deal with the invisible shackles that bind her.
Cal has spent years plotting his revenge against the Deighton family. In the span of one evening he lost his best friend and his very own family. Nothing or nobody will stop him from extracting his justice, or so he once believed.
When Cassie turns up at his tattoo parlor requesting his services, he is torn between his need for retribution and his attraction to the fragile girl. Instead of turning her away as he should, he unintentionally invites her into his world.
"Don’t do that Princess. Don’t play coy and don’t play the innocent when you all but begged me to do exactly what I just did."
Unable to maintain his distance, lines become blurred when Cal realizes that there is so much more behind the wealthy princess he once believed her to be. From foreplay masked as ‘inking sessions’ Cassy and Cal burned up the pages. This book was about two people that had suffered a lot of trauma and both carried secrets that had the power to tear them apart.
This was cute. It reminded me of a lot of Cherrie Lynn’s Rock Me, just not as good. Decent read though kind of generic. Very 2010’s bad boy tattoo book. Entertaining enough for the evening though. Thanks Leigh for bringing it to my attention by reading it lol.
Squee! I loved, loved, LOVED this book! These characters were exactly what I needed and their story was absolutely perfect!
Cassy is paying for past sins her father blames her for. With the scars of an accident years ago marring her body, she’s decided it’s time to stand up for herself and begin a new life, the life she’s wanted for years. Her first step in doing so is a tattoo designed to cover those scars, which leads her to the man known for being able to take on such a task. Unknown to her, he is a man from her past with his own agenda.
Cal recognizes Cassy as soon as he sees her in his shop. His family continues to pay the price for what her father did to them and now the tables are turned and he has the perfect opportunity for revenge. As Cassy’s scars are slowly transformed, so is his scarred soul, and now he must figure out a way to stop the pain that he knows awaits for the woman who has changed his life.
My first and always love is going to be the hero, especially when he’s as perfect as Cal. Big and brutal looking with his tattoos and scars, when under emotional strain he has trouble vocalizing his words. The fact that Cassy caused him to stutter and stumble made me fall in love with him. He couldn’t hide the fact that she affected him in every way. It also didn’t take him long to move into the “mine” mentality that I am a huge fan of. Loyal to his family, tender, caring and patient with Cassy, he is a hero that will be remembered.
Now I know that many readers will not be happy to learn that Cassy, 26 yrs old, is a virgin. But there are extenuating circumstances and I urge you not to discount this story because of this. She has been traumatized as much by the cause of the scarring as by others’ actions due to them as well. I personally loved her and the sweetness that permeated her when with Cal. In social situations she is the Ice Princess, but with him she is pure heat and honey.
There is a lot at play during this story and once I started I didn’t stop until I reached the end. This author knows how to pull me in and keep me grounded to the characters. The chemistry between Cal and Cassy was absolutely Kindle melting! You’re definitely going to need a cold drink and a fan while reading this one. The addition of Cal’s brothers makes my heart sing because I’m hoping we’re going to get more about them!
Highly recommend for those who love a “mine” alpha hero with a few flaws and a sweet heroine damaged by life.
Beg For You is a spicey opposites attract love story between a good girl and the boy from the wrong side of the tracts. Their worlds are so far apart and yet the connection is instant. Cal struggles with wanting revenge against her father who caused a lot of damage to his family and just plain wanting Cassy for the beautiful woman she has become.
Cassy doesn't care that Cal isn't someone her father approves of. She is tired of living her life for him and longs to be selfish for once. When she meets Cal at the tattoo parlor, she only expected to want to cover the scars that cover her back, not to fall in love with the man who has scars of his own.
Cal was an easy hero to fall for. He's big, quiet and more honorable than he gives himself credit for. Cassy is one of the sweetest heroines. She could easily have been a snobby woman with her background but she lives more in guilt over her brother's car accident. Her father has used that guilt for years to keep tight control over her.
Despite the obstacles in their path, I really enjoyed this pairing. I like to see how far a hero will go to to keep the woman he loves. If Bull's story is next, I expect it will be just as delicious!
total side note: spelling Cassy with a -y instead of an -ie does the opposite of scratching my brain

REVIEW I have no idea how Sherilee Gray manages to write shortish novels (novelettes?) that feel so thorough and well-developed, but I am not complaining!
Cal and Cassy were easy to root for, despite the “revenge” of his. In Cal’s monologue, he states he is using Cassy (just as he perceives she is using him) to hurt her father, but his other thoughts about her give away how he really feels.
Cassy is said to be an ice queen, but she is such a warm character that truly, I do not see it. Even when she puts on her mask, she is more polite and distant than she is “cold.”
Much of this novel is spent waiting for Cal’s secret to come out, and when it does, boy, does shit hit the fan it all go awry. And then, because it can never be easy, when Cal goes to explain his actions, a conveniently timed answering of a door makes him draw his own (wrong) conclusions about Cassy. Love it or hate it, the miscommunication trope is going to create plenty of drama and angst.
Beg For You was a quick, enjoyable read. It was exactly what I was looking for, and I absolutely will be reading the rest of the series.

4.5 stars.... Great start to this Enemy ( on the hero's part) to Lovers story, one of my favorite tropes. This series is about the 3 men from the wrong side of the tracks whom on one fateful night 10 years ago, their lives changed in dramatic fashion all due to the car crash that killed the drug addicted young son of one of the local wealthy who just happens to be the brother of the heroine in this story and is also friend of the victim. He was also the brother's pot drug supplier for a short time until the brother went on to the harder drugs. When the son died, the heroine's father wanted to destroy the hero and set about to do so. There are 2 brothers and a cousin who is the eldest. The eldest cousin took the blame for the drugs found in their house and was sent to prison, the youngest was put into foster care and from what I gather in this story, suffered horrors, and has now made him darker and tormented .The hero was in the car when the crash happened and had sustained brain trauma(resolved, with minor repercussions)and scarring of the face and other parts from the burns. He had the hots for the heroine when she was 16 and used to fantasize about her, calls her the " ice princess". The heroine has severe burn scars on her back and side from attempting to rescue her brother from the burning car.She also has a deep ton of guilt as she knew how severe her brother was addicted ,but she did not tell the father . The story opens 10 years later and the cousin is out of jail and the owner of a bar,the young brother is now a 22 year old blue haired punkish tattoo/piercer artiste working with his brother, and the hero is the owner of the tattoo parlor. One day the heroine goes into the tatt parlour to have her scars tatted over and meets the hero, he joggs her memory, but she does not remember him,the hero of course remembers her and he puts his plan of vengeance against her father into play. Things gets sexual between these two right off the bat and a relationship of some sort starts .From lustmance to romance . Even though the sexual shenanigans started off very quickly,I felt it ways appropriate as these 2 had some scorcher sexual chemistry. I will be reading the next in this series as it is the cousin's book, and other trope I enjoy, bff's little sister.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Surprisingly enjoyable story about another martyred heroine and her extra-studly humongo crush who happens to have a backstory related to her unknowingly through her dead drug abusing brother. Geez, that sentence looked Kristen Ashley wrote it. Oh well.
Essentially a revenge story gone wrong as the H falls TBI head over tattooed heels for the heroine. The revenge story gets derailed but not before some angsty betrayal scenes.
And can I say that this is one of the worst covers ever? The heroine looks like a Kartrashian reality housewife instead of the dainty, fey thing she really is. All that’s missing is the trowel to take off her makeup.
Welcome to Grumpy ville! Where the men are inked, hot and grouchy And they will do everything for their women.
I'll be very quick because I have a shit ton of work today and I want to start the next book asap. This one? I loved it. I have a serious crush on big, grumpy men with ink. So it's no surprise I devoured this baby in one sitting.
This one is the story of Cal and Cassandra. He is a man on a mission to finally have his revenge on a man who destroyed his family. She is the daughter of a said man. But she is also a woman who is trying to break free from her father's iron fist, the man who controls her life and who blames her for her brother's death.
Step one is to cover the scars on her body with a tattoo. The scars she got after she tried to save her brother from the car crash. And that's how she meets Cal. And she has no idea that Cal is the man who was in the same accident.
But Cal knows who she is. Because he's been pining over her since day he met her a few years prior. And despite the hatred he has for her family, he decides to ink her. And daymn! The chemistry these two have?
I'm not gonna get into the details because I don't wanna spoil. Just read the book. You won't regret a thing. There were some twists and turns at the end that I wasn't really fond of but all in all, the story was absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to devour the others in the series. Highly recommend!!
Beg For You was another amazing five star read from Sherilee Gray! Anyone who knows me knows that tattoo parlor stories are my jam but OMG was this story on another level!! It was sexy and compelling and the connection between Cal and Cassy was so crazy combustible!! I loved every minute!!
When Cassy Deighton decides to shed the strict restrictions imposed on her by her uber elite upbringing and live her life to the fullest, she never thought she would encounter Cal, the growly, imposing tattoo artist who makes an impression on her during a tattoo consultation. But when she fails to see the tragic connection between them, she falls into Cal's revenge plans against her father. Will their connection be strong enough for them to overcome the secrets and pain between them?
Ahhh!!! This story was amazingg!! I loved the chemistry between Cassy and Cal and the genuine feelings between them. I felt Cal's remorse and ambivalence for hurting Cassy but also loved his dedication to his family. I seriously can not wait for Bull and Dane's stories! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula
I think my main dislike was the constant use of the term "Ice Queen." I'm not sure why, but the hero was obsessed with calling the heroine by this term, which had me quite confused since at no point was she snooty or belittling toward anyone. In fact, I found her to be kind of sweet, if a bit anxious.
Then it started to hit me that this was going to be a book about clichés.
Long story short, I just didn't find anything in the story remotely new or interesting. I wouldn't call it bad, per se, just nothing revolutionary.
(PS: I read in some of the other reviews how it was a turn off for people that the heroine is going to beg for the hero, per the blurb. I'd like to point out that there was hardly any begging on her part -- other than the occasional use of "You wanna come?" "God yes!" that seems to be used in the often in romance novels -- which I don't think really stood out in this one. There was no demeaning "slave play" -- is that a term? -- used here. Honestly, their sexual encounters usually involved her running to him because someone has upset her and he's all she wants to see, he rushes her into his room to calm her, and they end up making out.)
Excerpt: Cassandra Deighton had walked in here tonight and had fucking thawed in front of me. She’d given me smiles, had blushed, had given me goddamn tears, and for some messed up reason, I wanted more. I wanted to know what else she’d give me if I pushed. So instead of asking, I let the tips of my fingers graze her skin and reached for the clasp. She shivered, and I watched in fascination as goose bumps lifted before my eyes. Was that a shiver of disgust? Did my touch repulse her? How did she feel having some ugly, scarred monster touching her rich-girl skin?
This book started off really great, I love the rough round the edges H and the prim and proper h trope. Especially when the H is a really filthy talker 😈 so I was loving the start.
However the main conflict kind of dragged and Cassy who I thought would grow a backbone just never did, she had to be rescued in the end and the villains of the story in my opinion got off lightly after doing truly shitty things.
It also ended quite abruptly and I wish there had been a bit more to it instead the conflict which you know is coming gets drawn out for longer than it should have.
Still a mostly enjoyable book and I really do like this authors writing style but just really wish some of her female characters weren't so passive.
I love how this author writes chemistry, it was good. But I really dislike how weak and indecisive her heroines are, always in the need of saving, always in the last moment.
I don’t know who I should feel sorry here for. Authors or readers who enjoy writing or reading about a woman who humiliates herself. I’m ashamed, ashamed of my own gender. I just can’t.
I devoured Beg For You in one sitting. It kept my attention from to start to finish. It's a naughty opposites attract that I simply adored. I loved this story and these characters and cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
Holy hot alpha. I loved every single word of this book. When I start a Sherilee Gray book, I know I’m in for a delicious ride. And with this book, that was 100% accurate.
Cal was all growly and muscly and scarred and tattooed…*heart eyes*…and full of spite. Yet he’s such a big sweetheart!! So protective and loving as well, his huge heart was in there somewhere. And seeing how big it was made me fall head over heels for him.
Revenge was the plan. But he just couldn’t resist those blue eyes and blond hair he’s thought about for the past ten years. Was she an ice queen or his princess? He needed to find out.
Watching Cassy and Cal go from angry and bitter to friendly and civil to passionate and devoted was a beautiful thing.
I. Felt. Everything.
Their story grabbed me right off the start and didn’t let go until the last word. So good, so delicious, so full of heart. And all the swoony swoons!!!
And the other characters from this story made me want to immediately dive into their books.
Loved the main characters separately. Cal was the misunderstood tattooed bad boy who fell for the “ice princess” Cassy was tortured by an event in her past and just wanted to grab some life for herself. The sex scenes were pretty hot. My biggest complaint is that I just wanted more. I wanted more scenes of the together figuring things out. I wanted to understand why her father could have acted the way he did. I want to know more about the gallery, Ted and even Gloria. This story just felt a bit superficial....almost like someone condensed a much larger script into a much smaller one. While I did enjoy Cal and Cassy, I can’t say that this is a book I would want to reread over again.
Because this is a thing with me, I’ll start my review with telling you I have no clue why this story is titled Beg For You. When I read the title for the next story, I thought to myself wait, that should be the title to THIS story LOL I mean if you look up the word sin in the dictionary it will basically tell you the bones of this journey so …. But let’s move on.
This story pulled all kinds of feelings from me. As it should have. Cassy and Cal are connected by their past, however, this is not a second chance romance. It’s more of a revenge plot gone wrong. As you can read from the blurb, Cassy’s father is the target of revenge for Cal and Cassy has no clue. But it just so happens, he might just be her target for revenge as well. Okay, maybe not revenge, but Cassy wants to take back her life. The life her father has had a choke hold on for a very long time. Not gonna lie, he’s not one of my favorite people.
So that’s the gist of the story LOL now add to that a whole lot of chemistry, heart and swooning and you have two people so perfect for each other it just made my heart sing. The history is brutal, imo. The man behind both of their miseries is not a good person, but they muddled thru it and came out of the fray together. It was a magnificent thing to read.
Cassy is trying to turn over a new leaf and attempting to drop her ice queen facade. Her first step in this attempt is going to a tattoo parlour across from her hometown. When she gets there she hesitates, but finally pushes through. Cal is the guy she is looking for.....but she gets more than she ever bargained for. Trying to escape what’s happening at home and guilt from the past, she finds something far more valuable😍 Will she grab that happiness with both hands or do what is expected of her?
Loved this story and Cal and Cassy just broke my heart into pieces💔 A great story and I can’t wait for more in this series❣️ Thank you to Sherilee for my advanced copy for which I voluntarily leave my honest review.
Had little moments that reminded me why I like Sherilee Gray. But overall, it was a lackluster book. Nothing memorable or wow. That being said, I blindly one-clicked the other two books in the series so will most likely read them.
Cassy and Cal were perfect together! He poured his pain into his art ~ She into her horses. What an emotional and heartbreaking first in series. The guilt, the lies, the facades... They were from different worlds originally. Both believing the stereotypes. Both hiding their true selves behind false fronts.
Cassy's life was a lie. A facade created to appease her father. Under the ice queen exterior, she was an innocent ~ lost and drowning in guilt. She had dreams, she loved wholeheartedly.
Cal was fighting each day battling his own demons. Emotional and physical scars ~ reminders of a night that forever changed his future. Cassy was put in a pretty tough position ~ Someone(s) wanted something from her and had no qualms using one of the few things left in her world that held any value as leverage to get it.
Cal was still searching for peace. Unable to let go of the past. He wanted payment for the crimes against him.
Spencer just made me queasy.
Dad... well the man needs to get his priorities straight!
Bull and Dane? I want their stories!
I enjoyed the dual perspectives. A bit of speculation(?) led to a bit of misdirection. I think that was the point though. We tend to judge first. I hope we get to know about how Spencer's family earned their place or lack of. I know it isn't really important but I am really curious about what his dad did. There are a lot of little things scattered throughout the story line that brought the whole puzzle together. All in all This was one amazing ride 🤠
Cal is the owner and tattoo artist of Rocktown Ink. He wants revenge on the man who destroyed his family ten years ago. Cassy is tired of trying to please her father after her brother was killed and just wants to do things for herself. She meets Cal when she goes to his tattoo shop. The two have instant chemistry but she doesn't know who he is or why they shouldn't be together. Will they be able to let go of the past? Will their family responsibilities tear them apart? A wonderful story and I can't wait to read more!
I received a copy of this book and am leaving a review.
This one has been sitting in my eReader for awhile and with nothing to do during the quarantine I have been slogging slowly but surely through my TBR pile.
But as for the story it is a rather enjoyable revenge gone wrong story. A quick read with characters that weren’t hard to read about. And while it wasn’t terrible I really have no desire to read the rest of the series at this time.
On a side note that cover? It is TERRIBLE. The heroine is described as this virginal little waif not some sexpot.
