Gremlins: Gizmo’s 12 Days of Christmas is a comical retelling of the hit film through song. Using the traditional carol Andrea Robinson recounts the story of Billy receiving a Mogwai for Christmas and the hijinks that ensue, causing chaos and destruction throughout the town of Kingston Falls. There are bits of dialog included as well to fill out the story and capture some of the memorable moments from the film. Additionally, it’s written in such a way as to let readers know how to carry it in tune. Also, the artwork by J.J. Harrison is really good; merging the children’s book aesthetic with the dark humor of the film. Festive and whimsical, Gremlins: Gizmo’s 12 Days of Christmas is a fun holiday treat.

Great Christmas book for fans of the original Gremlins, since it tells the whole story in the style of the song. Warning: Definitely not for little kids (neither is the classic film) since it even includes reference to the Santa in the chimney story!
