Jessica Wilson and her best friend Ruby have lived their early lives in the orphanage, but now war has broken out and two girls won't be missed if they run away to join the NAAFI will they?
Their lives dramatically alter and the girls find more happiness than they ever thought possible, even during a dreadful time.
Yet when she meets Tom, in whose aunty's house they are squatting in she begins to find out little bits about her past.
Slowly she begins to piece together the events of the night of her brith on Christmas Eve, 1923.
Things aren't what they seem and Jess is in for the shock of her life.
An absolutely brilliant follow on to the "Liverpool daughter."

A typical Katie Flynn book, a very readable story with believable characters and a certain charm.
This book is the second book of a trilogy, which I didn't realize when I brought it. It didn't effect my enjoyment but I would like to read the first book and get to know Dana.
Under the Mistletoe is the story of Jessica Wilson. She has grown up in an orphanage in Glasgow, the onset of world war two provides the chance for Jess and her friend, Ruby to escape.
I loved the mystery of Jess' parentage and the special bond of the friends.
Look forward to the last book in the series, when hopefully Jess and Dana will be reunited with their birth mother.

Just beautiful
1923 Christmas eve, Agnes McKinley is shutting up greystones orphanage in Glasgow when she spots a bald headed man leaving a bundle on the doorstep, a well spoken scouser he was chucking her a handful of notes and the little baby girl. Agnes pregnant herself no way could she give up her baby like that, just wait till Mrs Ancrum finds out there's another mouth to feed. Jessica Wilson was welcomed to Greystones a stepping stone to the poorhouse.
It's now 1939 and war is about to be declared, Jess finds a way out of this place hopefully to be evacuated with her best pal Ruby Alderson, but Brownhill where they are going to be sent is ten times worse finding their papers they flee ready to join up even lyng about their ages, a big adventure is in store ahead for Jess and Ruby as NAAFI's in Seaforth Barracks.
What a wonderful story, that I so enjoyed right through, so much of Jess life the truth are about to be told with the help of friends even during wartime. I loved all these characters coming together.

What a truly heart warming and uplifting tale of girls whocwere simply born into the wrong family and dumped liek unwanted rubbish in an institution that wasnt fit for purpose the strength of the two girls was lovely to read and to read ofnthem escaping the home and finding there true family and love was lovely perfect for this time of the year

This is the 2nd book in the Liverpool sisters series and I really enjoyed it. It is about a foundling girl called Jess who is left on the orphanage steps as a baby and what happens to her as she grows up. I'm really looking forward to reading book 3.

Lovely book , easy to read ,didn't want to put it down .
Loved the characters,whether good or bad they were well portrayed. Nice to read about the joy of simple pleasures like .. homemade Christmas gifts and snowball fights .

Interesting story about main character and her journey on finding the truth about her past and finding love over the course of a few years during the war. A real page turner and a book i found difficult to put down.

Another great story.
This one was more surprising than the last one.
The story itself starts quite rough and ends with a moment in time.

A great story. Although I didn't realise it was the middle of a trilogy set. I've not read the first one. Still, it makes a great standalone story but I would love to find out how the characters stories continue.
