TEEN AND YOUNG ADULT. Waking up in a hospital bed, seventeen-year-old Cassie has no memories of her past. All she knows is what she’s been told by the doctor and her parents: she underwent an experimental procedure for a cyst on her brain. Just as she begins to accept the explanation for her lack of memories, she meets someone who forces her to question what she’s been led to believe about why she’s in the hospital. If she has no recollection of events in her life, how can she be sure that any of them actually happened the way others describe? Are her “memories” actually real, or are they being formed for her? Is she really who she thinks she is?And if she can’t even trust herself, whom can she trust?
