Adam Lock’s debut novella-in-flash, ‘Dinosaur’, follows the lives of Rebecca and Erik, intertwining their stories in a way only flash fiction can. Although their lives are held close within the pages of this Novella-in-Flash, they meet for only a short, albeit life-changing, time.

No one chooses who to love, only who to be with.

I couldn't put this down - such an arrestingly brilliant novella-in-flash. Endlessly beguiling, passionate, heartbreakingly pure and raw...a masterpiece!

Supporters of independent publishers and literary journals will likely already be aware of Adam Lock, a master of the short story, and he excels here with a poignant collection of flash fiction that chronicles the lives and short-lived affair of Rebecca and Erik.

Each piece of this flash puzzle is loaded with masterful characterization and moments of simple, heart-breaking beauty. As a collection, it's incredibly addictive; try as you might to savour each chapter, it's almost impossible to resist the urge of 'just one more'.

This is the kind of novella you read three times. The second time is a revisit merely for pleasure; the third is to study the art of flash fiction. It's an art that Lock has near enough perfected. Wonderful.

This is a highly accomplished first novella-in-flash by Adam Lock, following the respective marriages of, and affair between, Rebecca and Erik. I have long been a fan of Adam's earthy realism in his short stories and flash fiction. 'Dinosaur' doesn't disappoint in any way as it tracks with great craftmanship the emotional journey of the two protaganists. Adam doesn't shy away from tackling all those difficult issues of love, intimacy, betrayal, doubt and resignation. For amateur writer's, this is a must-have addition to your 'homework', and for readers, a perfect book to dip in and out of during the summer - although I devoured it in one highly satisfying sitting!

Well written novella of flash fiction. The form is such that each story is its own entity so that gradually you're drawn into the relationship of his characters. I read it in no more than a couple of sessions. Highly recommended.
