When a man sees himself as damaged, imperfect, and flawed, it's hard to believe there could be love in his future. After a near-fatal accident stripped Blade of his confidence, he didn't hold out much hope … for anything.
Until Jenn—gorgeous, sweet, and kind—dropped into his life.
Raised in the south, Wall Street Journal & USA TODAY bestselling author MariaLisa deMora learned about the magic of books at an early age. Every summer, she would spend hours in the local library, devouring books of every genre. Self-described as a book-a-holic, she says "I've always loved to read, but then I discovered writing, and found I adored that, too. For reading...if nothing else is available, I've been known to read the back of the cereal box."
A member of Romance Writers of America, deMora has penned a variety of stories, with five established series that include motorcycle romance, veteran repatriation, and time travel, as well as a romantic standalone, dark suspense, and a legal thriller. Her website is filled with links and information, as well as extras like character interviews, playlists, poetry, and trailer videos!
Her short bio reads, "Plate-spinner / cat herder at work; totally geeked author; single mom in the thick of autism at home; hockey freak; wanna-be hiker; usta-be/on-again EQ gamer."
Another magnificent story in the Borderline Freaks MC series. Blade and Jenn were so sweet together. Sharing an instant connection after Blade comes to her rescue...more than once, their relationship moved quickly despite Blade’s reservations.
What i love about this series, so far, is how much story is included for such a quick read. This novella series has been fascinating to me. An MC created as a solace for vets. Another chance at the brotherhood they’ve come to rely on after so many years of service. The Borderline Freaks MC isn’t your typical MC romance. They’re not one percent ours out to control the area(s) around them. This group of men is there to support one another, their club and their community. So much of that sense of service is still ingrained in them, this club is their way of keeping that going.
More Than Enough is Blade’s story. A vet who was doing quite well until his accident. Now he’s trying to make it day by day with his recovering and dealing with a new sense of not being who he used to be. He’s been working so hard to get that part of himself, but its not until he crosses paths with the sweet Jenn that he finally comes to terms with the strong and wonderful man he still is. Their connection was instant and both fell so hard. It was quite beautiful to experience. And that’s what this story was for me...an experience. The emotions, all the feels - this had it all.
MariaLisa deMora always manages to transport me [literally] into the worlds of her characters. I’ve yet to meet a character I haven’t loved with all my heart.
Let's start off by saying this is a brand new author for us and we really enjoyed out first read by them and I have to say it is going to take a bit of getting used to the authors writing style but, I have to say that this story was heartfelt and endearing and emotional with flawed characters that feel undeserving.
We loved both the main characters Blade and Jenn from the onset of the story. This couple just clicked for one another right from the onset of their first meeting.
As the story progressed the couple grew closer in a short of amount of time and things starting happening for them at warp speed but, it just worked for them sometime you just know there the one and the chemistry was explosive.
Jenn's character surprised me the most as she was one tough cookie who had this huge heart and was beautiful on the inside as she was out.
Blade was a man struggling with some personal issues where he felt vulnerable and unworthy but, the love of a good women is about to change all that.
The story revolves around a bunch of ex military solider's who found a place in a MC and once again part of a brotherhood. Some of these members struggle more that others but, their feelings and fears are real and when they start to spiral their brothers are to take each others backs.
Overall I have to say we loved it from beginning to end and we are also so loving these characters the are all worming they way into my heart already.
This is book two in the Borderline Freaks MC series and it’s so good. It can be read as a standalone but as book one is a great read I recommend you read that too.
Blade is a shell of himself after a near fatal accident. He’s got no confidence in himself and believes no one else should.
Jenn is a delightful character. She is the brightness to his darkness. She believes in him but can she convince him that he is worth her love.
A fantastic read that I inhaled in one sitting. Can’t wait to read more of these characters.
You briefly meet Blade in book one but you do know that he was in a pretty terrible accident. He is trying to reacclimate himself with the changes that have occurred in his body and mind. When he steps up to help a pretty girl the struggle becomes a little bit more complicated.
Jenn is a hard-working waitress. She leads a fairly simple life until it is overrun by bikers. She has a lot of feelings for the Blade if only he could realize his worth.
This could be read as a standalone but is definitely better enjoyed after reading book one. There is mention of what is going on in the first book during this one, so it adds nicely to the overall story of these brothers. This was sexier than the first book but still filled with sweet and tender moments. This was another quick page-turner and has the reader looking forward to more.
This is the 2nd book in this fascinating series, and what a great addition this is! After a near fatal accident Blade is a shell if the man he used to be, and when Jenn comes into his life she is a breath of fresh air. Can Jenn convince Blade that he is worthy of being loved? This is a well written flawless story which had me intrigued and hooked throughout, and I highly recommend for all MC lovers.
Blade loves being a part of The Bordeeline Freaks MC and after having been hit by the drunk driver he is still recovering what his body is allowing to be fixed when he meet Jenn at a diner they stop at on a run, when a couple of prospects threaten her well he steps up and that changes both their lives and their story touched my heart.
Aaawwweee. I loved Blade and although I felt sorry for him, going through everything he went through and still suffering the effects of the accident, I felt bad for feeling sorry for him because he is such a strong man and felt that I insulted him by feeling sorry for him. But then again, I also felt pride that he was able to overcome everything and was in fact living his life, even if he felt that he was unworthy of the beautiful Jenn. And as for Jenn; she is perfect for him. She accepts him and loves him just the way he is and I love her for that. These two are perfection. They are definitely made for each other and I loved them together. Jenn is a strong woman and just what Blade needs to help him see that he is worthy of her and she says all the right things to help him see that.
The story line is wonderful, and I loved how Blade made the right choice when it came to the two men who were out to get Jenn. His strength when it came to choosing the right thing to do for his club, his brothers and Jenn, makes him a stand up guy! He is worthy!
I am so loving this series, the men who wear the patch, the men who ride to honor the fallen, the men who stand strong with and for their brothers and the women who are coming into their lives. I love our Veterans!
This is an amazing series and one that I hope everyone who loves MC's and romance will give a try. I am so glad I found this series because it gives you more than just a read, it fills your heart with love and pride for our veterans! I cannot recommend this book or this series highly enough!
If you love a good come back story, Blade is the man for you!
Blade, or rather Nate when hes not with the club, lived through every biker's nightmare. After being hit by a drunk driver, even the most basic tasks became hard and Blade wasnt a man to admit weakness. After months of fighting to relearn so much, and having to admit he needs help, Blade is getting back into the swing of life. That is until a damsel in distress pulls his attention and his heart.
Jenn works, eats and sleeps. That about covers the excitement for her. That is until the diner she works at becomes the regular stop for a local motorcycle club on runs. The business is good and the tips are usually good. That's until 2 prospects try to tip her a little more than she wanted. When one of the patched members comes to her rescue, Jenn doesnt know that she'll be the one to save him.
MariaLisa absolutely nailed this book perfectly. Having experience with traumatic brain injuries and acquired brain injuries, I'm always worried of how they'll be depicted. And Blade is perfect in his speech trouble, in how stress or anxiety can affect the lasting side effects, how it feels when his speech or brain fail him. MariaLisa shows the damaged side of Blade while not allowing this to become his only character definition in such an amazing way.
I absolutely adored this story. You may think you know how Jenn and Blade's love come together, but I promise you it's a wilder ride than you could imagine! You won't regret picking this one up, because I couldn't put it down!!
I'm generally a pretty articulate person....I mean, my spelling blows but I can usually get my point across with no problem. I'm chatty like that. Welp...not anymore! I've seriously lost my ability to find new and better ways to adequately say just how friggin amazing MariaLisa deMora and ...... well basically every single word that comes out of her brain is. 'More Than Enough'. Oh My Stars! Blade / Nate ... my heart has still not recovered. Four pages in and the tears were free flowing and that was before I found out what a heartbreakingly, swoony, dreamboat he actually was! Jenn ... strong, smart, brave, and every single thing that Nathanael Murphy needs, wrapped up in so much pretty. Noone is ever so damaged that they don't deserve friendship, loyalty, Brotherhood, purpose, or love. MariaLisa deMora has a way of slapping us upside the head with that knowledge, time and time again...and she makes sure we never forget each and every member of her family that she allows us to make part of ours. I will forever be looking for new ways to say Thank you to ML...even if I just say the same thing over and over and over....... A Hundred Stars....Still wouldn't be enough stars...NEVER enough stars!
What an amazing MC Book. If you’ve read book 1 of the series, Service and Sacrifice, you know this is not your ordinary MC book. Don’t get me wrong, there is plenty of action and lots of brother-hood and of course romance but these men don’t sell drugs, run guns or stuff a lot of clubs do. The Borderline Freaks are all ex-servicemen that banded together to help one another get through life after the service. Their number one priority to honor and remember those that have served and gave their all.
This is Blade’s story. This man served his country well only to return home and be nearly killed in an accident. The wreck left Blade feeling like wasn’t enough, physically and mentally. He has problems with words at times, problems even functioning at times but with the help of his brothers, he has persevered onward one step at a time.
Blade meets Jenn is at the local diner. She is smart, funny, sexy and beautiful, everything Blade thinks he doesn’t deserve. But Jenn knows better after seeing Blade jump into action when she needs him. Jenn believes in Blade and is determined to prove that he is worth so much more.
This storyline is amazing. It’s a perfect balance of heartwarming and MC brotherhood action. I can’t recommend this book/series en
Blade is his own worst critic. After struggling to come back to some semblance of his former self he's slowly seeing progress. Those bad days still happen. His mouth can't keep up with his brain, he still sneaks into sweep position on rides so he doesn't put his brother in harms way. He still thinks he doesn't have enough to give, or is worth it, but it doesn't always stop him.
Jenn is adorable. The super sweet waitress at a small town diner finds herself in the cross hairs of some unwanted attention and although she thinks she could have handled it... she didn't have to because Blade.
Crisis averted, Blade and Jenn suddenly find themselves with the opportunity to get to know one another, which puts Blade on a path of realizing he might just have what Jenn needs; even if he still has struggle days. While the two start something, someone else has decided to start something too. Only they've chosen the wrong person to mess with.
I loved these two. Especially after Jenn helped Blade see that what he considers lacking she doesn't see at all. They give a compliment that the other needs and deserves.
A sweet and gentle love story! Nate and Jenn are a match made in a real world of struggle. Blade, Nate Murphy, after returning from 3 tours “in the sandbox”, was hit by a drunk driver and lost part of himself. He struggles with speech, numbers, reading, and feels less. Jenn is a waitress at a restaurant stop planned out by the Road Captain, Monk, from Service and Sacrifice. Blade rescues Jenn from the Borderline Freaks’ own prospects and finds this beautiful woman fills voids in his life he didn’t realize he had. When Jenn experiences strange shenanigans, Blade has to find a way to keep her safe. This is a sweet story of finding one’s way to being “more than enough” with who you are. Being accepted with all the struggles and worries is a theme through this series so far. I do wonder about Jennifer Campbell. Her background was not fleshed out in this story. She gazes into the distance and imagines waves to calm her breathing and control the pain in her swollen feet. I immediately thought she had training for this “trick”. Where and why did she need it? I just felt there was more to her story. This, however, is no reason to not enjoy this sweet love story.
Sweet Love Store While on a ride Blade and the guys pull into a biker friendly diner. Jenn happens to be their waitress. When Jenn has to go to the storage shed, two FNG’s decide she is fair game. Blade hears them, and rescues Jenn. Men like that are not a good fit for any motorcycle club. When Jenn gets sick Blade takes care of her, and the magic happens. However, there is one thing Blade hasn’t told her. He was nearly killed in a drunk driving accident. A drunk drive hit him while he was on his motorcycle. He had a TBI and things were not going to get better. His mouth and mind didn’t work the same, and he had good and bad days. Jenn says that is just him and it doesn’t matter. Blade and Jenn are building a future, when stuff starts happening to Jenn. The guys start looking into it. They are happy Blade has found his one. Crisis everted, Blade and Jenn get their happy ever after. This is a very quick read. There was not a lot of backstory on the characters is my only problem. It is my problem, as I have read her longer books, and love the intersection of the characters and storylines. I am interested in how the other books are going to tie together.
More Than Enough (Borderline Freaks MC #2) by MariaLisa deMora 3 stars M/F Romance Triggers: TBI, harassment/stalking I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Jenn is working, just trying to mind her own business. But, with bikers who frequent the bar, while the tips are nice, the grabby hands are not. When two newcomers get a little too close for Jenn's comfort, Blade steps in and saves her.
Blade is a leader among the bikers he rides with. But, after an accident, he's far less confident than he used to be. His accident left him with some lingering side effects and while he would love for them to just disappear, he's stuck with them.
This is a story about love finding a way among two very different people. Sometimes it is a challenge and sometimes it flows easily. When Jenn finds herself being stalked, Blade will stop at nothing to make sure she is safe and loved.
Lawd, even though More Than Enough is a short(ish) read, it packed a HUGE punch with all the feels. Blade is drowning in his past, and what he sees as serious failures, but luckily, the Broderline Freaks MC has his back. They continually make sure he knows that he's needed & wanted no matter what. But the person who gets past his walls, is Jenn, as even their first face to face meeting, she settles his mind down. He can't stop thinking about her, and believes he doesn't deserve her, but big part of him wants to make her his anyway. Jenn can see all the beauty which is Blade, and wants nothing more than to be his person, but it's gonna take serious work to teach him he deserves her & more. I absolutely love MariaLisa deMora's tortured soul heroes, who are alpha but with huge hearts deep down, and I'll never get enough of them to be honest. Did Jenn convince Blade that they deserve to be together?! You'll have to one click to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Blade has had a rough road. After. TBI things that were once easy for him are no longer easy. A drunk driver forever changed his life and how he looks at himself. Jenn's life could be called ordinary until a couple of prospects corner her and another man from the group they came with steps in to help her. These twin drawn together by circumstances neither of them liked are now drawn to one another. Blade feels more than just the need to protect this beautiful woman.
This is a really sweet, quick read that pulls at the heartstrings. MariaLisa draws you into the story and makes the reader feel the emotions of her characters. I highly recommend this story. It can be interchanged with the first book in this series as they have intersecting timelines. I can't wait for the next book in the Borderline Freaks MC!
After being hit by a drunk driver, Blade is still recovering and having a hard time, not being able to do the things he did before. Lucky that he has his MC Brothers who are there for him and keep lifting him up. Until he runs into Jenn at a diner and comes to her rescue , not knowing that he didn't just come her rescue but he might have just rescued himself too...
I think this series is going to have me bawling my eyes out with every book. These characters make me want them to be real just so I can meet them in person and hug them. Jenn was so strong and smart and just an amazing heroine. She was always there encouraging Blade and making him believe that no matter how damaged and bruised you are everyone needs purpose, they need love and they need family... Totally Blown away by this book and series, and its only book 2
This is the second book in this series and this is my favorite from this series so far. Blade has been damaged due to a nasty car accident. He is still recovering and doesn't know what to do with himself. He is not where he wants to be. Jenn works at one of the diners that the bikers go too. Some of the men with the MC try to do something to Jenn but Blade saves her. Days later he saves her again. Things heat up between these two instantly but Blade doesn't believe that he deserves Jenn. He thinks that she should have someone better. Will Jenn be able to show him that he is all she needs? This was an amazing storyline. A damaged man just needed the right person in his life to show him that he can be loved no matter what he has been through. Marialisa wrote such an amazing story with two amazing characters.
I loved this second book in the Borderline Freaks MC series. Blade came back from duty in one piece until a drunk did what the enemy couldn't TBI, traumatic Brain Injury when she crashed into him on his bike. He was recovering but would never be the same.
Meeting a gorgeous waitress on a run was more than he expected, an incident, and he was more than she expected. They both had needs and the feelings were mutual. Blade tried to hold back, thinking he'd never be enough for a woman like Jenn. She set about proving him wrong,
It's a story of hope, love, loyalty, and acceptance. Touching, steamy, with the company of his club and brothers could he have the love of this woman, too?
This is a short read that will draw you in and leave you feeling good.
I was pulled right into this short story. This story contains secrets, love, heartbreak, and pain.
If you have not already read the below I recommend reading them first: Service and Sacrifice (Borderline Freaks MC #1)
This is Jenn and Blade‘s story. Blade’s lost all confidence in himself after an almost fatal accident. He does not believe in himself so why should anyone else? Jenn drops into his life and proves that she has enough belief for them both. But can he let her in and love her like he should, or should he just let her go?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
More Than Enough by MariaLisa deMora is another great story. The second book in her Borderline Freaks MC. Blade and Jenn are so sweet together. Blade is with his brothers on a ride when they stop at a diner. Jenn is a waitress in the diner. Two prospects give her a hard time and Blade is all over them. From that moment on, Blade is it for Jenn. Blade survived his tours in the military, but has had a motorcycle accident that has left him feeling damaged. Jenn doesn't see the damage at all, Blade is more than enough for her. I loved how Blade and Jenn find each other and don't let go. I also loved how More than Enough is told with little easter eggs dropped from Service and Sacrifice, book one in the Borderline Freaks series.
I didn’t know how this author would follow up her first book of the series but I don’t have any words for this book. It met and exceeded my expectations. Who doesn’t love a comeback story?? Blade wasn’t injured in the line of duty, it was a drunk driver who took him out and after suffering a TBI he is feeling less than adequate. After stopping at a diner he meets Jenn, a waitress at the diner, and saves her. their relationship progresses from there. Even though this was a short story their relationship didn’t feel rushed or forced. Jenn is determined to have Blade see that he is worthy. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!!
I just had to get into this one as soon as I could throwing a pun out there because I had not had enough. Blade plays on many of our emotions with if you could you would want to give him a good shake. When Jenn comes along I thought none too soon with now I am fixed on them both. Healing is in order with the right formula being involved, so when it begins we are slowly loosing our mind to the ahhhs. There has to be strength with her having it. There has to be acceptance with us watching for it. It is not just all about him she has her part also. So this author has us mesmerized by these two with have devoured it leaving you well satisfied.
Perfection is in the eye of the beholder. Jenn, a sweet caring woman sees past the rough exterior of a man who survived war, to only need to fight to get his life back together after an accident. His strength allows his physical self to heal, however TBI is a tough road to travel. Jenn only sees him as perfect...
I love ML's charters, she pulls the feels right from you. Any book dealing with the Military and their struggles and the women who love them is a must read. Especially MariaLisa's...
Another wonderful addition to the Borderline Freaks MC series. Blade and Jenn's story is sweet, emotional and just has such a realistic feel to it. After Blade has a deadly motorcycle accident he struggles with daily life with things like speaking and thinking. Not only that he struggles within himself feeling less and so flawed. Meeting Jenn was the best thing for him. She fills something in his life he never had, accepted him the way he is and leaves him with a sense of peace. She shows him that he is more, definitely more than enough. Can't wait for more.
I am absolutely loving this series. In addition to this being a great sexy read, there is a lesson in this story as well. It teaches us that no matter how broken we are, whether physically or emotionally, we are worthy of love and worthy of loving others. I've read MariaLisa deMora for several years and I know what awesomeness she is capable of producing. With every new book, she raises that bar even higher with her ability to create imperfect characters that find perfection in the love of another person. I'm very excited to see where else she will take me with her next book!
This story pulled me in right away. Blade/Nick felt he was too damaged to find anyone, but he was so sweet that I fell in love with him. Jenn was so willing to follow her feelings with this instant attraction. Her acceptance of everything Blade made this quick read more interesting. This story had me smiling and wiping the stray tear, and falling in love. I look forward to the next in this series, and I recommend this book and the series.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Blade is recovering from almost dying after being hit by a drunk driver. He feels he's lacking because of two brain surgeries he has trouble with words. Words, and other things don't always come easy for him. But he saves Jennie while on a run. This is their story. Love these shorter Borderline Freaks books. But again, don't care the length, short or long never long enough because MariaLisa DeMora has wordcrafting down to a science. She's one of my favorite authors.
In the second book of the Borderline Freaks MC, Blade is a character that the author has captured as a veteran with past and current difficulties that are amazingly real. He fails to see his worthiness but when he stumbles on Jenn she sees man he is despite his problems and past. Eventually his club brothers make him realize she is part of his strength. She sees his value and eventually helps him realize just how much he has to offer. Another strong couple made stronger by being together.
This new series is so emotionally beautiful, I didn't want the story to end! The series is so much more than an MC. It's about Alpha men with big hearts and insecurities, and yes even disabilities that make them even better men. Blade, aka Nate, and Jenn's story gave me wicked evil, feelie good, goose bumps! Hell I wanted to hug Blade! Absolutely amazing new series and I can't wait to read the next one!!!
