Q - What makes The Hopeless Husband Series special?
A – When I started writing this series, I wanted to create something light-hearted, funny and fast-paced. Yet I also wanted the series to be based on a reality that at least on some level, long-suffering partners could either relate to or use to feel better about their own (sometimes frustrating) unions. Comedy is one of my favourite genres and I wanted to write something with a humorous look at relationships, that leaves the reader smiling.
What makes this series special is that while John Webb is the proverbial quirky, cranky old man with a perpetual midlife crisis, his wife Franny is a breath of fresh air who lends dignity and poise even when it is missing from all around her. If you love stories that are rife with satire and measured degrees of weirdness but still come together nicely at the end, in ways as unique and imperfect as the some of the characters, then this series is for you!
Q - So, why should readers give The Hopeless Husband Series a try?
A – Because the series is dryly funny, yet offers an unexpectedly heartfelt take on marriage, ego, and self-discovery, packaged in bite-sized novellas that are an easy read.

A – Each book (starting with The Anniversary) is a novella, full of twists and turns as John Webb obliviously navigates his self-created maze of social inappropriateness.

Blimey! There is no stopping John Webb! The man who thinks he is right about everything. In book four, we get to meet his mother and father. Has the apple fallen far from the tree? I won't spoil it for anyone but this bit is a good read. John and Franny are asked to adopt John's niece Breanna (also a great character thrown from the Webb gene pool) will this mean Franny's new and exciting relationship with Michael is doomed? Will it mean that John Webb will finally redeem himself? Ahh, such a great story! There is a beautiful twist towards the end, in 'Romantic Break' a previous instalment, John Webb's memoirs were stolen. What happens to them is just so priceless it made me laugh, and then smile to myself for ages.
