As one country tries to save mankind another does all it can to stop them, not for any reason except pride and money. Bobby Akart has taken us to a new high again, this time to deep space.
The Spacehopper, the International Space Station and the Moon Base are not figments of his imagination but are either already in use, are being developed today or deep in the planning stages right now. The depth of Mr. Akart’s research are absolutely astonishing. It never fails to awe me when a few days after I read one of his books, I see everything he has talked about on the front page of the national news. I have called him the Nostradamus of the 21st Century and nothing in the Asteroid series changes my mind.
But as important as his research and prophecies are, the characters and the action that he writes into his stories is what makes them great. Gunner Fox is a true American hero with a can do attitude that has made America what it is today. As the world looks to the heavens waiting to see if their world will go the way of the dinosaurs, Gunner straps himself into a space ship and charges forward to stop the coming inferno. What Gunner doesn’t know is that unseen forces will do everything they can to stop him. Enemies are hiding around every corner and some very evil enemies are hiding in plain sight. Gunner will let nothing deter him from his mission, including the strong possibility he will not return.
While Gunner flies toward his and the world’s destiny, Cam and Bear, the rest of his Spec Ops Team, head for enemy territory to see what the Russian Bear is doing. While all face danger Pop realizes he needs to prepare for what is coming after seeing stores being empted and fighting in the streets.
Once Gunner gets to the International Space Station and takes off in the Starhopper with a mixed crew of Russian and Americans he does not realize his whole world will be turned upside down and blood will flow while the asteroid continues it’s diabolical journey to turn earth back to a time before man first walked on her. While I should never be surprised that Bobby leaves us with a cliff hanger, this one is a whopper of a cliff hanger. Can not wait for the next installment.

Gunner is finally on the mission to bomb the huge Asteroid. Aboard the Starhopper, with his friend and mentor, Commander Chief Rawlings. With them at the controls of the Starhopper, on the flight to the Asteroid, things start to go bad. Unknown to them, the Russian Astronauts, have murdered murdered most of their crew. Artie, the control AI has been give a command from Gunner, that if necessary, Gunner will give Artie a command of "Stand Down" to allow Gunner to take over contol of the ship. The Russians attack Gunner and Rawlings, after the killing of the rest of the crew. In fact, the Russians tell Gunner, exactly what really happened to his wife and how she really died. An epic read, to the very end!!
Me? I'm off to read the next book, in this series!!
I'd give this book, 10 stars, if I could!!

Asteroid Diversion
Wow!!!! Only word besides Superb, excellent writing, and heartwarming characters...If you love reading Apocalyptic books, this is the series to start with...What started off as a means to destroy an asteroid turned into a bloodbath by the Russians aboard a spaceship...Not to give too much away , but thanks to Gunner Fox for being aboard...Mr. Akart has part has carved a niche for himself in Apocalyptic books...As far as I'm concerned, he is the number one author in this genre

This one shows just how horrible the Russians can be even if the fate of the entire planet rests in the balance. Gunner Fox and some others are going on a spacecraft to nuke the asteroid and hopefully avoid the worst of the damage that it would have caused otherwise.
Politics demands that Russians be allowed on the mission Big mistake.
The only question is if anyone will survive to complete the mission. Of, yes, one more question. If you blow up an asteroid what happens to the pieces? Will only a few of them hit the Earth or will a whole bunch hit our planet?
A very tense, good book.

An asteroid is heading to Earth. It's impact? Devastating. Literally hundreds of thousands and more people will be killed. Major Fox and a crew of Americans, French and Russians are on board a spaceship to engage the asteroid with nuclear bombs. Hopefully that can break it up and lessen the debris field. Unfortunately, the Russians have another plan. They have murdered all non Russian personnel on board. Fox and the Chief eliminated the Russians. Unfortunately, the Chief didn't survive his injuries. Fox has to accomplish their mission alone with the help of the ships AI. This is a incredible read!! Non stop action, suspense and treachery. An excellent read!!!! My highest recommendation!!

I had been a little disappointed in the first book of the series, but this one delivered the page turning action for which I'd been craving. The biggest weakness was the slow build up that lasted for over a third of the book. For well over the first hundred pages there was very little action, suspense or anything that interesting. That problem was even bigger in the first book. Both seemed to have "filler" in them as to make two books into a trilogy. I have to say that the second book was way better. This one, after a slow start, came back with a vengeance an I couldn't put the book down. Once I got half-way in I just had to finish it.

Super Exciting Book 2!
Looking forward to starting Book 3! Book 1 was very technical and almost lost me. But having read Bobby Akart before, I knew if I could hang on through the nuts and bolts details, I would be greatly rewarded! I wasn't wrong! Loved the story and how it all unfolded with the excitement that only Bobby can put on paper. Didn't see some of it coming, that's for sure. Thanks Bobby, for your research, your imagination and your ability to bring it all together for another unforgettable ride. I'm off to get Book 3 😊👍💯📚

Life threats in space
It's a good thing Gunner is resourceful so much is going on in this plot. I think the variety of unusual problems to survival make this such a quality story. You have the asteroid, deadly assasins, space, the rocket, jealous fellow Americans, getting back to earth, separation from your wife and team to deal with. it gets worse, welcome to volume three. I see there is a number four coming, super.

Book 2 Asteroid Diversion
Well this was just as exciting as first book if not more. Gunner and his race to the moon and then try to destroy the meteor heading for earth. Again a page turner didn't put it down. Excitement at every stage. Great explanations of the universe combined with a great thriller storyline. A must read.

Aaack! What a cliffhanger!!!
This book had it all: thrills, so much excitement, conspiracy by our enemies, life threatening situations, political gobbledygook, heart break, love, assassins, and a possible scorched earth scenario. Then Gunner, our hero, blacks out! Omigosh! Gotta download the 3rd book now!

Entertaining
Gunner travels to the moon base to board another craft to attack and hopefully destroy the asteroid headed for earth. But delays caused by the Russians cosmonauts assigned to the mission, almost thwart success.

It was a good sequel but the build-up generated in the first 60% of the book just lasted for 15-20 pages !! The whole diversion scene should have been the star of the book but it wasn't

Great book.
Full of twists and turns. Racing toward a destructive asteroid, with bad guys attempting to sabotage the mission. Gunner being the can do guys you will not put down this book. All of Bobby’s books are thrilling. Read them all.

Space…the final frontier… (said in my best Jean Luc Picard voice). Those words couldn’t be truer right now for the inhabitants of the planet Earth. A killer asteroid, 2029 IM 86, which is on a direct course for impact with Earth, an asteroid so large that it could mean the extinction of mankind. The same type of extinction that took place over sixty million years ago in which the dinosaurs that walked the lands, were completely wiped out. One man, whose prowess is well known is called upon to take on the mission to fly into space and destroy this monster. Gunner Fox…a major in the United States Air Force, takes on the mission without hesitation. What follows in the story after he agrees is totally phenomenal!!! I sat here with my heart racing, holding my breath, crying at revelations that had happened and for those who were lost, cursing at the author and most of all…thoroughly enjoying this book!!! People often say that a book is action packed, heart stopping, etc. Well, Diversion is all of that and then some! I kid you not! I whole-heartedly recommend this trilogy to anyone who enjoys one helluva an excellent story! Do not miss this one…seriously!
