A terror from beyond lurks within a shadowy English town…

Reporter Denny Purcell is on the run.

After exposing the existence of monsters known as Interlopers, she has earned the wrath of their queen, Casandra. Implanted with an alien parasite in her spine, Denny has managed to fight the queen’s telepathic control for now. The slug-like symbiont grants her psychic abilities, but each day she fears she may lose her mind, and become Casandra’s slave.

When Denny travels to the Northern English town of Fordham, she uncovers massive Interloper activity in the area. But she is not the only one hunting the sinister invaders. A clandestine government agency known as the Task Force contacts her with shocking new intelligence: Cassandra herself is lurking in the shadows of the nearby Interloper nest.

Using her new abilities, Denny and the Task Force stage an assault on the terrifying monsters’ headquarters, hoping to end the nightmare once and for all. But Denny has a secret objective, one she has kept hidden from her new allies. And she’s willing to strike a deal with Cassandra to make it happen.

As human and alien blood alike is spilled, Denny must decide… How far is she willing to go to reclaim her humanity?

"The concept is hard to grasp," she said finally. "They exist in many places at one time, one being occupying many worlds, one mind in many bodies. They are not as us. Or you."

Denny Purcell is still battling the never ending war against her human side, and the part of her slowly fusing with the symbiote she affectionately calls Jabba attached to her spine. With every day it's growing smaller as she absorbs it further, and each day she's a threat to her friend on the Tash Force. Feeling the strain from the mental proving by Cassandra, she knows them finding a fair way to fight the Interlopers is getting slimmer. Hiding out from one small town to the next posing as a psychic, she's about to put herself on Cassandra's radar as both are staying in the town of Fordham. As Frankie DuPont is craving the words from her close friend, she's working closely with Gould and Harriet Zoffany to find the weaknesses necessary to bring down the Queen. Armed with soldiers provided by Trent (the leader of Task Force), they know where the hive is located, the only issue is getting in and beating the Queen.

If it destroys things, it's dangerous. If it somehow moves them someplace else, it could be even more dangerous.

Hiding under the elusiveness of a charity called Moment of Truth, Cassandra is managing to absorb the homeless, children, and people wishing to help donate to the less fortunate into her ranks. Taking troubled teens and children and swapping their bodies for Interlopers, she's spreading out faster than imaginable. Any adults close enough tend to fall to the same fate, their brains being used as fuel for the Interlopers who stole their identity. As Denny is homing her skills, both her and Cassandra find themselves equal stuck and confused on Trent, who Denny discovered has an empty void. Something not quite human that walks with the living, the group is begining to distrust the man who was supposed to lead them. Cornered and facing being taken for studying, Cassandra commits suicide but not before releases three more juvenile queens into the world. When Harriet Zoffany was kidnapped by Interlopers, she awakes to being on a ship where she ks the sacrificial lamb for slaughter to the three Queens. Faced with new issues, they could only do so much to prepare for the next battle with the Lopers.

Monsters! The monsters have come for me.

The adventures of Frankie and Denny continued. This is a must read. They have to fight the interlopers from one dimension to save all humankind. The storyline captivates you and you won't want to put it down. The characters are believable. Thom Bowers brings the book to life with his narration his voices and sounds. You will get drawn in and you can't put it down. I recommend this book as it will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Such an easy , non-confusing read for a teen reader. Younger if parents approve. Not really scary but just a little bit of goosebumps. The continuing story of the creatures who attempt to take the souls away from the host body. I recommend this story especially if you've been following the series. Other wise I would say go back to book 1.
