With the defeat of the Elemental, Arbor should be hailed as a hero. Instead, he is shunned, turned away from the Defiants by those seeking power and fearing his own. Having little choice, Arbor sets out with his force of gremlins toward the slave city of Fivora in hopes of finally being reunited with his sister.
Meanwhile, strange things are happening in the elven capital of Srila. An Infiltrator is stalking the streets and leaving death in its wake. However, the Infiltrator isn’t the only one with its sights set on the elven homeland. Karria soon finds herself tested in ways she could never imagine. As enemies close in on all sides, she must find the strength to push through.
The denizens of the underworld are stirring for the first time in thousands of years. Although their individual battles may have ended, the war has only just begun.

Mr. Oster has continued this series with another fun, well written, and intriguing book. He continues to introduce new elements into the book that hint at what is to come with future books. His characters’ development continues unabated and well constructed. While I am no fan of profanity as it detracts from good reading, he uses it less than many of the LitRPG writers. He has such potential it is infuriating that he bothers placing any profanity into books that teens and younger might enjoy. Unfortunately, this proclivity encourages me to warn away younger readers as it is a negative influence to the way one thinks.
This series continues to be fun and ends with a bit of a crossover to another series the author has advanced. Well edited, the books remain hard to put down, the romantic aspects are interesting and there is a lot of subterfuge where it is sometimes hard to tell who is on who's side. The hero is overpowered but is given folks to fight that are even more so making for some incredible battels. I highly recommend this!
A really well-written and thought out series I really enjoyed it and looking for many more books in the series hopefully more than a trilogy I love the main characters Arbor and his sister and definitely enjoyed the whole book and its entirety it was fun from start to finish
Oster is knocking it out of the park. Second book is fantastic. Great character development, story progression and does a great job tying together the different story arcs beginning to reveal a larger picture. Can’t wait for book three.
I really enjoy the different characters and how their stories interact with one another. I love the mystery of Silver and I can really respect the development of Arbor. Can't wait for the next in the series.
It was a great sequel that continued the character development of arbor and karia. The only that I didn’t like was that the side characters took a backseat and weren’t as developed as in the first novel.
Fun fast paced book. Sturdy characters. Can't wait for the next one on all of this authors series. I saw some foreshadowing that has me pretty excited as to where everything is leading to. Well done Aaron.
Full of mystery and fight scenes that build up well into a entertaining tale. Though I was a bit distracted y a number typos and misspelled or missing words I think it is a good continuation and worth the read if you enjoyed the first book.
Excellent sequel. I really enjoyed the plot lines of this book. The noble competition was the highlight of this book for me. There is good progress in the characters’ power. Thoroughly enjoyable book.
I find this series the best he has written do far. His skills are improving to the point that the flow is very smooth. Story is captivating and action action bound.
Arbor is moving up and Karria is getting to the ass kick stage as well. Bringing the characters from the other series in at the end is really cool. On to book 3!
The book was......ok. Usually in such a circumstance, I would give the book three stars. However there were certain pieces of the story that seem to be kind of odd and unrelatable.
For example the character of Sylvester in this story is not at all consistent and the twists and turns in his personality are...odd for lack of a better term. Some of the added antagonists in this story seem to be half developed but we may learn more about them going forward. The demon in the story seems like a Robert Jordan delay tactic. The random both kids are extremely powerful but no one knows why deal is still not explained but that may change in the next book.
The final reason why I downgraded this book from ok to 2 stars was the love interest. It's insane to me that all of the sudden thay switches for no other reason than......the author feels like it. Look I know women are fickle but when you save someone and then change their life, which by the way happens, they don't all of the sudden say "Nope, I don't really want to get busy with you". Yea that doesn't happen. It just seems stupid to be honest. Heres also a secret.....if a big, strong handsome guy with a lot of power turns a girl down who is attracted to him....they get more into him. Its like no one who knows relationships writes these things.
But alright, the author decided he wanted the guy to go a different way, just doesn't line up with how people work.
