Joining with my Alphas has changed me at my most basic levels. I can't seem to control my powers, but with Jeren, Kyte, and Ceredes at my side, I think I'll eventually stop with the accidental outbursts of lethal energy. Hopefully. But my powers aren't the only problems: I have an Omega who wants me dead, a Sentient who is still trying to kidnap me, and an undeniable need to mate with my Alphas.

The entire fleet is slowly reaching a boiling point as the Sentient threat grows, and when they attack and take someone dear to us, the circle vows to fight back. But as the council of regents begins to fracture, secrets slip through the cracks. When I discover the truth, will I be able to withstand it, or will the circle break under the weight of my past?

Lily's note: This is the second book in the Omega Academy series. Please read book one, Omega Academy, before starting The Circle: Omega Academy 2. 18+.

After fighting off the Sentients, the group form completes the Circle saving Lana from her threatening injuries. The group has yet to learn the Circles abilities on them. Lana has powers from her Alphas, channeling them and protecting her alphas or destroying the enemies. It's so heartwarming to see her so protective of her Alphas. Midst this there is a traitor. Half the Academy accuses them of letting the Sentients in then again there are few believing in them. Why does Bartanz and the Warverians want Lana? The circle is getting stronger but Lana has yet to learn how to control her powers.

There is war arising, and the fate to protect depends on the Circle.

IT’S ALWAYS THE QUIET ONES YOU GOTTA WATCH OUT FOR.

So, my prediction about a certain 4-armed medic was CORRECT.

You can call it a gut feeling, I call it my inner-seer.

Onin is the traitor. *gasp*
This is why we don’t give our blood away like candy!!! *furiously clapping*

The circle is solidifying their bond, one hanky-panky session at a time.
Lana is trying to control her powers.
... and doing a piss job at it
Kyle with a T (Kyte) loses his mother.
Daviti the Drunk Pilot dies *cue the tears*
And the boss people are covering shit up.

HMMMMMM......
*looks perplexed*
What ever could go wrong?!

That’s right, Lana gets taken.
I call it inevitable.
*deeeeep sigh*

Now it’s time to watch the guys as they’re flipping their collective shit.
Onto book 3 if it’s out, I haven’t checked yet.

If you haven’t gathered, I am liking this series. Lana isn’t my ABSOLUTE favorite at times but I do like her.... and really I’m starting to question is it authors just creating shitty FMC’s or am I just a judgy bitch? Out of ALL the RH books I’ve read, I’ve loved MAYBE 10 FMC’s. The rest are trash or decent but borderline ehhh.
Riddle me this, someone

Oh, hello. Three hot alphas, and one stubborn omega. What could be better? Uhhh... NOTHING.

description

Lily Archer did it again. Her first Omega Academy book had me impressed. The speed of the story was on point, the characters were lovable, and the thought of aliens from different galaxies meeting at one academy was seriously friggin' cool. It was a great start to the series. This book, however, had me wide-eyed and hypnotized. I was torn between drooling at the sexy-shmexy scenes (me-owww), screaming at the action packed ones, or bawling my eyes out during the several depressing things that happened.

And oh boy, do depressing things happen. Thanks, author. Really... thanks.

Buuut,
While I drool and scream and cry, I'll still be eagerly waiting for the third book to come out.

Why did I think this was the final book??
Well considering there is nothing to show there it wasn't, I thought this was a duology, but you can imagine my surprise when I finished this with a very big cliffhanger. I'm not sure if I should feel offended that the author did this to me, or if I should look forward to the next book.

Regardless, this was a fun read but preferred the first one. Yes this has steamy scenes (where the first book had none), but otherwise I wasn't as invested for some reason. I'll just say Lana really doesn't learn her lesson. I'm not surprised by the ending but at the same time you'd think she would think twice (alongside the three alphas).

I guess I'll wait for the next one to come out now....whenever that is.

Hmmm... My sentiments from book 1 still hold true. This is what I said in my review of book 1:

"I liked the 3 H's more than I did Lana, the h. And tbh, I like Lana's besties (Tilda and Uaxin) more than I did her."

I liked this one slightly more than book 1 though. And while I'm still not a Lana fangirl, she does develop more kickass powers here. So there's that!

I'm interested in how this trilogy wraps up. Keeping my fingers crossed for a great 3rd book!

The second book was spicier than the first one, but everything else was worse. A lot of things do not make much sense in this book, and the writing was less polished and a tad juvenile.

I was hanging out for the next part in this story and OMG it was worth the wait! Can you say steamy? *fans self* I can’t believe how off the charts hot this was!
And the twists and turns had my jaw dropping. I won’t give it away but I did not see that coming!

This picks up where the last one left off; Bartanz and Warvarian both trying to claim our heroine. Sentients attacking and our circle fighting them off. But who let them in?
The circle is stronger than ever, and though half the academy has turned on them, they’re in training to fight the Sentients in a war they know is inevitable.

Full of action with twists that will rock you, this next one will have you begging for more. More of the circle, more of the sexy times, and more of the truth about what’s being kept from them and why.

***

The Sentient threat is growing.

When one of them tries to kidnap Lana, the guys will stop at nothing to get their omega back.

They need to seal the circle, their bond.

But with their joining, they were changed.

They have a bond between each other, the alphas' powers increased and Lana gained access to a few of them and several of their own as well.

But controlling them seems impossible.

And the circle has to be ready.

The council is watching them and they may have to fight the Sentient at any time.

Notes:

🔸Nice read but vague

The world building is not very complex, there are very few details given regarding all the beings and how everything fits and interact.
Even the characters are very straightforward and direct.
This second book is an easy read with very few drama and angst. It is very vague on details.

🔸 Instant bond

No doubts about their bond, everyone accepts it straight away, no questions.

Moreover, they recognise, right from the start, their bond as something that only happened once before in history.

The whole bond thing was not really explained. Do every being has the ability to bond? Or are they just pairing?

🔸Bond/circle

I don't really get the difference between a bond and the circle. A circle is something that only happened once before but don't others (alphas and omegas) have bonds/pairings?
There is a lack of explanation. Even Lana was not given one.
What is involved? Do all of them gain power? Exchange powers?

🔸Instant love

They admit they are in love straight away. There is no getting to know each other.

🔸 Incoherent/unrealistic behaviour

- MMCs

Initially the males hated or barely interacted with each other but they overcame that from one moment to the other.
Even their behaviour changed, at least from what it was before Lana, but no one questions it.

- Lana

She instinctively knows how to work her powers. But it is vague on how she controls them.

Sometimes she is overconfident, then not. Struggling with bullying but then what others say don't bother her. Failing as a student in a new world but then instinctively knows what to do.

She is abducted and shown things she never thought were real but she is okay. She accepts everything very easily without questions nor doubts. She barely finds anything weird.
She stops trying to return to Earth nor tries to find out why she is the only human that was taken.
No one questions why she, with no training nor the knowledge, was put in advanced classes.

- Academy

Few information regarding everything.

Supposedly there are 3 academies?? Alpha, beta and omega. But then they all have the same classes, together.

It is said that everyone had prior training before going to the academy. I am not sure but I got the impression that some character said they trained and then applied for the academy. But then someone else said the fleet took people and forced them to attend the academy and be part of the fleet.
Lana was put in an advanced classes with no training nor explanation.

No introduction to the powers everyone has or can have nor how they can be trained/developed, with one or two exceptions.

***

My complete respect for the author and their work.
No hate nor hurt intended with this review.

Lana - FMC
💕Her Harem💕
Ceredes
Kyte
Jerens

What an awesome, cool and totally enjoyable twist on Omegaverse.
It’s a cross between an Academy-star wars- terminator- omega- alpha goodness 🥰
It doesn’t sound like it would mesh well but on boy does it! So good 🥰

💫This was a page turner from beginning to end not one scene was wasted on filler or endless dribble 🥳. I was so engrossed and entertained that I hated adulting. From the very beginning you feel like you staring an epic adventure. The world building is really good. The characters are developed really good and have lots of depth. All the men got equal time with Lana.

🌟The Omegaverse is done differently and since I don’t read Omegaverse cause it not my thing. I love when I find gems like this that have a new take on it. No OW, no MM, no cheating, No degrading in the harem, no abuse. But we get the good stuff like the mating, scents, slick, Knots, and amazing Alphas.

✨Lana is on earth with no knowledge of aliens, Omegas or Alphas. She lining a normal life at 18yrs old she is school but has a horrible home life. One day as she is being attacked by a bully she is rescued by 3 hit alien alphas and they kidnapped her to take her to Omega Academy on a different planet. And that’s where her epic adventure of love and discovery begins.

❤️‍🔥The harem is super amazing ❤️ they all have reasons for not wanting to mate with and Omega and especially not a circle ⭕️ bond. But they each realize it pretty quick that she’s their mate and they immediately make the decision to change their paths and mate and protect the woman who they are falling for.

💕It’s not insta-love but it’s Insta-connection that turns into love over the time of them getting to know each other. But the story is fast moving so it might seem to happens fast.

❤️They are the first circle-mates in 300yrs and usually come in times of great need. As a circle they are very powerful.

💕I love love love that we know these guys have had sex but it’s not a focus point and there is no OW sex or Cheating ⭐️🥳💗.

✨There are lots of secrets and twist plots in the story. Tons of adventures and a galactic war against Cyborg aliens trying to enslave the universe.

💫I don’t want to spoil anything cause it’s one of those reads that keeps you on your toes. BUT……

⚠️Book 3 mild Spollers⚠️

😢40% before they reunited which I kinda hate when the group is separated. I didn’t enjoy that part.

😅The final battle was very much a redo of Luke and Darth Vadar I didn’t mid but it was kinda predictable.

So one ⭐️ reduced for the series cause of the Ending…..

✨The ending was rushed… why so rushed?
✨There was no after the war scenes!!??
There needed to be a bit of follow up after the war and how things settled or even how the Academy was in the after effects. Who lived who died…🤷🏼‍♀️😤I mean we get NOTHING!
✨We also have no idea where they lived in the Epilogue what roles they played on the universe. Nothing. That dropped a solid star for not having a good ending. All we got was a sex scene.
Where’s the follow up the WHOLE universe was upended. Highly dissatisfied.

But overall still a great read I REALLY enjoyed it. I would read more from the author and recommend this read regardless of the ending. At least we know they have a HEA and are together and in love💕

I have a hard time deciding if I like this series or not. After 2 books, I'm still not sure.

The idea of a YA/NA Omegaverse intrigues me—despite Academy elements, ick—and I like some of the little changes to the genre Archer has made here. What we think of as standard Alpha behavior in the Omegaverse (being overbearing and often pressing the Omega into submission for "her safety") is treated in this universe as Alpha instincts gone to a bad place. So there's none of the genre-cliched growling to mortify, coercion, overbearing possessiveness, etc. that one expects when reading these books that can be a real turn off to those wander in...because even the better Alphas in most Omegaverse reads are assholes, though lovable ones. Which is a nice change of pace... But. Without some of those elements at play, fully stripped out, there's really no way to differentiate Alphas and Omegas from Betas, and that's one area where this concept really isn't working. As far as I've seen in this universe, Alphas just happen to be larger and a bit on the bossy side and knot...while Omegas? Um. Have slick. That's it. Add to it that the super kick-ass sparring instructor who can beat down all of the adult and teenage Alphas is a Beta woman and well, consider me very confused about what meaning and specialness dynamics are supposed to have here. Why are there no Betas at the Academy then? What really makes Alphas and Omegas special enough to be singled out and trained on their own? Beyond sexual parts?

It's something that doesn't work for me, and I can't quite ignore it since Questions keep popping up as I read. Why make this about Omegas and Alphas at all and not just remove dynamics all together?

There are also some gaping plot holes/missing plot points in this book that have zero reason to be revisited in book three, and that always irks me.

And I'm still not a Lana fan. I love Tilda and Uaxin (I still want more of her back story, though she's slowly opening up) and find them to be interesting characters, but Lana is really...bland. Non-descript White Girl™ Who Is Nice. And as this story progressed, I realized a lot of her plot points are simply Taylor 2.0, which I'm not sure needed to be redone in a Sci-Fi versus Fantasy setting.

I plan to ride this out and hope that the third book will surprise me, but so far—while an interesting and cute thought experiment—Archer's other works are better.

Lily has joined with her guys to form a circle. A circle hasn't been seen in years, and not everyone is happy about this one. This is made worse by the power Lily contains and can't control. She must learn quickly or there will be consequences.

Well, this was a mixed result. We did get more worldbuilding and background history which was good. Relying so heavily on the mean girl trope didn't make sense in this book. In book one, it was pathetic on Ilwen's part but after the circle was formed, it made Ilwen look pathetic which was out of character. Just as bad, Lana came across as weak each time they had an interaction. Forcing the characters to "break character "felt contrived. But the big plot twist destroyed a favorite character which was bad. This is a tricky twist to attempt. I understand an author sometimes wants to go for shock value but they need to weigh the end results to see if it's worth it. If you have a large cast of side characters with several beloved or respected characters then you can destroy one. When you have 2-3 likable ones and 1 respected character, be careful and make certain the reasoning is solid and the payoff is worth it. I don't believe it was worth it in this case. Again, contrived. The story also seemed erratic. It would focus on one area skipping over others instead of developing consistent story telling.

I did not see that coming (SPOILERS)

But it explains a lot. So firstly, Lana, Ceredes, Jeremías, and Kyte have successfully formed their circle and are now training together. Well, their doing everything together, including sleeping. We discover that Bartanz did not have permission from the council to Lana as his own. Shocker 😱. And they make some sort of hint at who Lana is. But nothing solid or concrete.

In the beginning we still have no idea who the traitor is. Just guesses. And I’m not going to lie Commander Bartanz is top of that list. The circle gain some allies and makes some enemies amongst the cadets thanks to Ilwhen and Dicknose. Ilwhen even goes so far as to challange Lana to a duel.

But before the duel a sentient ship takes out a fleet ship near Centari and it kills many including Master Daviti and Kyte’s mother. So much happens once this even takes place and things start to come together.

Now the true secrets aren’t revealed until the last couple chapters. We learn the traitor is none other than Onin. 😱😱😱 now that was shocking. And then you discover it’s not Lana’s father we needed to worry about but her mother. And the fact that her mother is alive and well when the council had everyone believe she was dead and the savior. Too much lying going on if you ask me. But we will see how it will play out in the end.

So I came to this book right from Book 1 (Omega Academy), which was a good idea, because this book functions mostly as the second half of that book. Of course, the first chapter could easily have fit into the previous book as it serves little purpose into the “plot” of book 2.

The book moved firmly into the adult romance category here. Still a lot tamer than a lot of omega verse (thankfully) but not YA anymore in terms of plot. The writing still works like YA - it’s clear and simple but the sex is definitely amped up.

The fanfic quality of the book continues - there is a dress up scene where the heroes’ jaws literally drop. It was so cliché that I had to grin - I love this sort of thing when reading fanfic - it's comforting predictability for me. This was all silly fun … it was better plotted but still OTT fluff. The plot needs to end now please …

Definitely worth reading in the end - a fun 3.5 stars. I am giving it 4 stars because the book knows that it is and does it mostly well - a fun romance with sci-fi world-dressing thrown in.

5++++ STARS

So this book picks up right where the first one ends. Let’s just say I did not stop reading until I was finished, well I had a short break to sleep.

I love the connection between Lana, Cerese, Kyte and Jeren. They all are so different but somehow they fit together so well.

From the beginning, it’s obvious that the fleet is hiding something from this circle. Now looking back, the end makes a lot more sense. It wasn’t until the last two or three chapters where everything clicked into place of why everything was still a major secret.

For the most part the book focuses on the relationship between these four. Wedges keep coming at them from everyone and from one best friend that just pops up a LOT to cockblock the males which was funny and frustrating all at the same time. Lana is struggling a lot with control. All of a sudden she has all this power built up and having to find the best way to control it all.

This book does end on a cliffhanger. A MAJOR cliffhanger. While I don’t mind them when the next book is out, this isn’t going to be fun waiting for the next book.. 😭😭. But wait I must!

I liked most of it.

Kyte was the first to mate with Lana which I was hoping because he is my favorite. My taste is more along the lines of one partner but I still enjoy the book.
There is more adult times in this book of course.

*Spoilers*

She finds out she is a product of the old circle in the middle of this book. I should have realized it sooner. Although not sure how Nox made her outside of her circle if her father was human? So now she's with the cyborgs and her Alpha's are trying to find her.

It also mentioned Kytes father was a hoe and liked both male and females. So I guess he was an equal opportunity kind of guy. And I say it like that because he was a very terrible person. For how he treated Kyte and his mom.

Anyway, I enjoyed the book but not as much as the first one.

Oh and B**** Pinky had her butt kicked.

Oh I also want to mention I like how Lana is a power house but doesn't want to fight and trys not to. Which isn't normal for female leads. They are usually more okay with fighting and don't resist it much. But she does. She doesn't want to hurt people and does what she can not to. It most likely due to her past trauma.

It felt a tad bit like a filler book, but at the same time, there was some desperately needed training time and the chance to understand her powers and the way the galaxy works a little better. Plus, the circle needed completing, and the relationships needed to be solidified before her subsequent kidnapping. I saw it coming and yet was still shocked that they were betrayed by Onin. It makes sense, and I hope she finds his son safe and sound in the next book. But it still hurts.

Losing Master Daviti hurt me far more than I was expecting, and having him just be blown to Ash so fast like that was both awful and the most humane way he could have gone.

The last reveal about Nox being evil is wild to me! Why would they keep such a thing secret this whole time?!? There has to be something else going on. I'm excited to see what happens next.

Cliff hanger

The second installment of this series was interesting. There was a lot of character building and development. New information came to light and the circles bond grew closer.

I dont think it was as fast paced or action packed as the first book but a lot still happened. The cliff hanger is pretty brutal too. There is not a ton of steam. I think most of the things that make omegaverse omegaverse are glossed over. This could pretty easily have been a fated mates trope or something similar and been the same book with the most minor changes.

It was a good book and worth reading but I had been hoping for a little more. I'm interested to see where the story goes so I'm hoping to see a release date for book 3 soon.

Wow!

This was my second read through, and I’m shocked I didn’t review it the first time. I’m happy to do so now.

Wow! This book was anxiety inducing, rage filled with infuriating moments with betrayal in the mix then there was the true happiness moments that comes from bonding through friendship, blossoming love between the male characters, to over coming physical and mental hardships. Of course I can’t forget to mention the fmc turns into a badass when her loves were threatened. The betrayal at the end is shocking, and hurtful. Her horror when they murder that person anyways shows how merciful she is. The fmc Has to overcome this… and I can’t wait till her true badassery comes out and she shows the entire galaxy what it means to threaten those weaker than others.

Really good sci-find reverse harem story

Lana almost died in the Sentient attacked but her 3 alphas saved her by not only healing her, but also by completing the circle. They are now extremely powerful and Lana has gained powers from each of them. Kate's mother dies from injuries sustained in a Sentient attack and Commander Bartanz takes over the Council. He attempts to cover up the Sentient attack and to have Lana killed. Then, kind On in whom Lana trusts so much betrays her and hands her over to the Sentients and her telepathic connection to her three Alphas has been severed. Can't wait to get my hands on the third Omega Academy book.

Lana finally completes the Circle wth her Alphas and she gains incredible powers along with deeper individual connections with her guys. The unimaginable power the Circle wields scares the fleet and intrigue deepens as the Circle tries to calm fears and persude everyone that they aren't a threat. Lana is kidnapped by a somewhat surprising traitor, Lana's parentage is revealed, and the book ends. I hope the third book tells us Lana's complete back story including how she came to Earth and about her kidnapper's son. I didn't name names for the sake of keeping the spoilers low. This is a pretty decent book but I'm ready to wrap the series up.

Has it all!

I am completely utterly in love with this series. I wish I had the talent to convey how wonderful this story is. I live for it!

The FMC and her guys are well developed and oh so yummy! The storyline is so invoking. You get lost in the pages from the very beginning. I was dreading getting closer and closer to the ending, savoring each page. It is truly heart wrenching to know that the next book is not out yet and I have no idea when it will be! I highly recommend this book. Whatever doubts that you may be having, don’t worry this book will exceed any expectations you may have.

Because I’m annoyed my rating is lower. If I would let things go & not hold grudges my overall enjoyment of the book would be higher.

Lana agrees to a duel with Ilwen. Ilwen cheats by fighting with fully powered weapons . She still is no match for Lana.

-“He wanted Ilwen to kill me.” I glance over at Ceredes. “I thought you said he wasn’t a traitor.” “I thought he wasn’t.” He shrugs, then lifts me onto his shoulders.

Ceredes reaction-WTF. After the duel there is no discussion among the harem and Lana about Ilwen using full powered weapons. They do nothing to Ilwen concerning the cheating. They do handle the one who helped her.

I said this was a space opera and that still sums up this second book for me. 👽🤖🤡💩👹🤮

This is touted and sold as a series based on omegaverse but tbh it plays such a small role here I feel like that is misleading in a way bc it also isn’t what we expect from that type of book. That is neither good or bad. Just an observation.
Knotting 💦is always a big part of omega books. There is very little spice in this book. Yes the society or galaxy is set up w alpha beta omega vibes but again, it just plays a small role. 🤷🏻‍♀️This entire series would work without any of that information.

Still a good read.

So we move on to book 3. 😶

Be still my heart!!

Holy moly what a ride this book was. I need so much more!! The cliff hanger tore me up and now I'll be waiting impatiently for sure for the next book. I've gotta say, the transition of events in this book were expertly handled. There's nothing worse than a lead character making a bad decision only for the continuation of the plot. This was believable, and well handled. Even though the reader was left going... not sure you should do that, it was a decision that fit well within the plot and the character development. Well done!

Oooookay. There's a few things that bother me when I read and I can look over grammar or spelling or even a missing word. My BIGGEST issue with grammatical errors is when authors forget which character is speaking. I can't remember if it happened in the first book too because I'm on the third and it's happened in the second book but I've read a second time where the author forgets.

I have to go back to the beginning of the chapter to double check because I'm confused in the sentences I've read.

I'm not into how much drama is added into the series. I'm still reading the entire thing because it's holding my interest, but I won't read them again.

Loved this series so much!! Definitely some twists I didnt see coming! That cliffhanger though. I checked the authors Facebook and there doesn't seem to be an update on it. Its been about a year or more. So just a warning that there may not be a book 3 even with the major cliffhanger. Which is the only reason I'm giving a 4 star instead of 5. I still recommend reading it.

I absolutely love this series. Lana and her men have formed the circle against the council’s decision. Lana has absorbed all of the talents from her men which makes them much stronger when they are working together to fight. Kyte’s mother’s passing takes him home to his planet and finds Lana taken to the Sentients ship. This is where we find out who Lana was born to and that is where the book ends so we have to wait until books 3 comes out.

I am voluntarily leaving my review for this book.

Finally we are getting some spice but these are honestly some of the worst sex scenes ever. Awkward and detached in a way.

Sadly the plot is not getting much better, because why shouldn’t our college kids suddenly face real enemies (and take down targets that have been missed by armies on a whim)?

Also not a fan of cliffhangers at the end of super short books. I know a girl has got to live, but this is just enraging.
