Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building.

I really enjoyed this twist on angels and shifters. Based on the title you'd expect this to be about an angel falling from heaven, but it is more about an angel being forced into the one place where all the worst evil nasties, the bad of the bad, are located, simply because she chose love over hate. Imagine being punished just for having different views than everyone around you and having a big enough heart to choose to love someone despite knowing it would never be accepted. The main character, Max accepts and loves the beings that are supposed to be abhorred, beings that are used solely for their magic. Turns out they treat people better and are way more trustworthy than first believed. I loved Cali's take on good vs bad in this book and that all wasn't what it seemed to be with the blessed and the cursed. She also put a nice little spin on shifting abilities as well as mates that I've never read before. I'm really looking forward to the next book to see what all happens with Max and her mates. I hope they get up to a lot of shenanigans and are able to figure out what exactly is going on in Cursed Penitentiary.

Max (a Blessed) knew she was doing something illegal with her Cursed bodyguard, but didn't care. When she is outed and sentenced to years in a prison full of Cursed beings, she takes it pretty well. Understandable, though, when the alternative was being stuck forever with someone truly awful, who she cannot stand.
I enjoyed this story, was super easy to read, and I got through the entire book in one sitting. The whole concept of the Blessed and Cursed, and the book being set in a prison was something new to me, and I thought it was great! Max is a strong female lead, and I liked that we got chapters from the main male characters, too. I can't wait to read the next one, there's still so much to see and learn!

I really enjoyed this book, I was hooked from the start. It's a really interesting 'world' and book 1 of the series.
Max is a royal Blessed and in love with Tony, a Cursed. She is sentenced to serve time in a Cursed prison when their illegal love is discovered. Once inside, she has to learn how to survive, and who she can or can't trust.
Max is a strong character, she is a princess but she fights for what she believes in.
The male characters are all different and attractive in their own way, and I'm sure here will be quite a few more revelations to come in future books.

This book. Holy.....
Phenomenal. I freaking love Max. Rebellious, but true to herself and her beliefs. She is a BAMF! Tony, I need to know more. I didnt get enough of him. Patrick, I like alot. I wasn't sure I would but I really, really do. And Noah. Just wow.
Fantastic plot. The story line is superb with the right amount of grit and raw emotion. The character development is flawless. This book is a sublime example of exactly what you can expect from Cali Mann!

This book was a very interesting and fun read. I have never read a story like this before. We meet Max who is a Blessed who has done the unthinkable and fallen in love with a cursed. She is sent to prison which is where we meet all different characters. I don’t want to give to much away. But this story grabbed my attention and kept it until the end. I. Annoy wait to read the next installment and find out what happened to Tony and Noah!

What a fantastic concept of a paranormal world! The blessed and cursed were intriguing and so unique that I was completely engrossed in the story from page one. Max is a strong and fiesty heroine and I loved watching her navigate the story and the characters that she meets. This story has twists and turns that will have you gasping and literally couldn't put it down! Fantastic plot, interesting and real characters and the scenes were brilliantly written. I need more!

Wow oh wow, this is my first book by this author and I can safely say I'm not disappointed. The story in whole blew me away. We have the woman who was punished for something she believed in and fought hard to protect it. In the process, a punishment happens, battles are in the horizon and mates are found. Now how will it turn out. Left with a cliffhanger. Ugh!! Now it's a waiting game for book 2. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy.

This wasn't as good as I was hoping, but it wasn't terrible either. I really didn't like the FMC very much. She is an entitled princess who expects everyone to bail her out. Then she doesn't an abrupt character change at the end and becomes self sacrificing. Same with Partick. One minute he hates her because she's Blessed and the next he's in love with her. I don't know that I'll bother reading the next one.

I love the characters that Cali Mann has created. The devotion of the MC that she will stick with her beliefs regardless of how hard those choices are going to be on her or the people around her. Is it stubbornness or is her moral code? probably a bit of both. There are twists that I didn't see coming so I am really interested in see what happens in the next book. And to see if she is able to mend some fences with characters and see other character development.

Great original story. Well deveoloped characters to go with this great plot. Just the right amount of secrets. And plot twists to keep your mind guessing what could happen next. Enough steamy scenes to have you sweating too. Will definitely continue reading this series, patiently awaiting the release of the next installment.

Wow. This book was too short, I need more!!!
If you like prison romance - read this! An upper class court girl thrown in a dangerous prison with the very slaves her people used. Gorgeous men, mythical creatures, magic and danger everywhere!

I thought this story was a new twist on shifters. The characters are very interesting so far. Max and the guys are all strong and loyal characters. I am looking forward to the next book. However, I'm not fond of cliffhangers. That is why I gave this very good story four stars instead of five.

Interesting
Good book. Liked the premise of the cursed who are slaves to the blessed despite the fact that they get their power from the cursed. Liked the gang hierarchy as well. Will read the second when it comes out.

This was a great book. I knew that she would be caught but I didn't think it would be that bad. Who knew that she would find the others in there. I just know she broke his trust but I hope that she can get it back.
