Dr. Katrina Mason loves teaching college math. It's a rewarding departure from her past vocation as a stripper. When an abusive relationship forces her to take a job at a high school in another state, she's pleasantly surprised how much she enjoys it. That is, until she gets a lewd unsigned note to the school's Valentine dance using her old stage name. When handsome Principal Nate Thomas finds out about her provocative past, will he be inviting her to leave the job? In the end, what Nate teaches Katrina about love will have her feeling like she's dancing on the moon. (This is a short story)

Ebenezer!

Loved the characters, loved the interaction. Funny ,lighthearted clean. What a refreshing read. The past is not a reflection of your future and this book validates that. Find your Ebenezer! Read the book and you will know what I am talking about.

Short Story

I was hesitant to download this book because of it being a short story, but I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next in the series. I hope there’ll be a follow up to this one.

Dancing

The story was a quick trip for this couple to get acquainted and fall in love within the confines of this tale.. I guess it's possible, and so that's the story here. Let's give this one 3.5 stars.

A former dancer in her college days has started a new job in the South as a teacher. One of the other teachers knows of her past and attempts to use it to have his own way with Dr. Katrina Mason. While she is new on the job and not particularly looking for love, she has noticed that Principal Thomas is a handsome man. And his assistant has shared that Principal Thomas likes her. Katrina makes an offhand comment about dancing on the moon, if “sourpuss” Aka Principal Thomas would dance with her. He is attracted to her, and she him. Will he judge her for her past or give her a new opportunity?

The title of this short ChristFic romance story has a magical feel, and the lights and laughter on the cover made me decide it was about time to give this one a go.

For me, the read felt a little imbalanced in a way I think may be pretty common in romance: The story shows why she'd be falling for him, but I didn't see as much showing why he'd be falling for her. It's a little different if a romantic tale establishes early that the two parties involved already have a solid friendship or they otherwise know each other well, and now they're taking off from there. If that isn't really the case, it's all the more important for me to see characters who don't only have interesting backstory and inward thoughts but who also outwardly show, in their interactions with their love interest, why they're a worthwhile, equal match for that person.

The relationship here could have used a better balance of give and take and interesting dialogue on both sides. I also think some deeper development could have kept the declarations of love from feeling like such a leap. The state/progress of this couple's relationship felt more like the time to enter a conscious, mutual "liking" phase at the end. A good place to start going on dates.

But anyhow, I'm being pretty technical over this read that does deliver what most would expect when picking it up. It's a quick, positive story where two people with complicated pasts have the blessing of finding each other.

"Dancing on the Moon [Carver High]" by Linda Leigh Hargrove

"My Rationalization:

This was a sweet short read of A teacher [Dr. Katina Mason] who had a past that may cause her problems especially if it comes out about what she had been up to in her new job. Will she be able to make it on her new job as a teacher as it seems like her past may be catching up with her? What will Principal Nate Thomas do after finding out Katina's past as it seems he may have feelings for this special person. To find out how this turns out for these two you will just have to pick up this good short story to see how it all turns out for these two.

Grace and Love

This is a beautiful story of love and grace, both God’s love for us and the grace He shows us as well as love and grace for each other.
