A small town scandal is afoot in Rhinestone! Can Mavis sort out her own drama before the past comes back to haunt her? Can Reverend Simmons overcome his own demons to lead his new flock? Can Mona keep her family’s diner afloat? And the biggest question of them Why is Opal nekkid?
The characters are the backbone of this small town story. We have large-sized Mavis and her clients. She heals a select few men in town of their anxieties and woes. The long-suffering handyman forever has holes in Mavis’s walls at the Manor to repair. Mona at the diner. Maude and Opal. Reverend Jennings. And then there’s Earl Boudreaux who hit town and causes trouble four ways from Sunday. Well worth reading!
The book started out a little bit slow, but, then picked up nicely. There are still a bunch of gaps in the story. I hope following books will pick up where this left off.
I love small town books. This book makes you feel like your right there in that small town, Going to the diner, sitting out on the porch listening to the towns gossip! You will enjoy your time in Rhinestone!
I kept hoping to find positive qualities in the women. The male characters seemed to be better developed. The plot was shallow with too easy a resolution. My last visit to this community.
