A very quick read but so painfully, wonderfully to the point. It gets at the heart cry of every young child and provides a ‘no nonsense’ call for parents to meet these basic needs that they are responsible for. There is no real fluff and the language is very plain, almost blunt—children are a grave responsibility and a parent is to rise to that occasion (and if they haven’t, start).

As adults we often forget what is like to be a child. This book uses the letters of children through The Mailbox Club to tell parents and child workers what children are looking for the most. 1. To be loved and accepted 2. To be treated like real people 3. To live in a god-fearing family 4. To have stability . This book makes good points and good advise briefly explained and shown through the eyes of children, some of which don't live in Christian households. Also it has a good reminder to parents that not all children are unhappy with their home life. It gave me a reminder of where I know I fall short as a parent even if my daughter can't understand it.
