Until she started writing fanfiction and readers encouraged her to publish The Beast And Me as an ebook in May 2014. That was the reason why she chose to do all the work herself, apart from proofreading. However, in addition to that, she enjoys writing women who start off as weak and grow through their experiences in her books and end up being their own hero.
The question "Why do you want to be my friend?" is meant seriously. If you have more friends than books, or your answer doesn't tell me anything, I most likely won't accept the request.

Loved this seductive, dark story. It reminded me a lot of one of my favorite horror films Dagon; which was a retelling of Lovecraft's The Shadow over Innsmouth. Ultimately, when you roll those elements into a story for me I'm going to heart it regardless. This was the first thing I've read from this author and despite the criticism I have, I'm going to try more of her work.
The only criticism I have is that the narrative became a bit lost in itself at some points. Almost like - the author was searching for words but didn't have the ones they wanted and got lost in descriptions that became a bit to wordy. If that piece was a smidge better this would be perfect.
I don't usually bother with this because.. dark story should be self-explanatory but trigger warnings for violence, gore, and rape-y bits for you sensitive doves out there.
I really enjoyed this different kind of story by D.S. Wrights. Original in its storyline, Angeline is a young woman out to help sea animals. She is a strong-willed heroine as are most in this author's books. This story takes place out in the ocean on a yacht with the author taking us on a wild out of this world ride. "She craved for the taste of his lips, yearned for his arms wrapping around her and pulling her close." "Who wouldn't be utterly awestruck seeing a mythical creature in the flesh?" You won't believe where this story takes you, I hope you will dive in, and take a chance on this story.
4.5 I really enjoyed this different take. The book had me tripping. I couldn’t put it down. This is my first book by this author and she is on my radar. The bad guy was so dang bad. The suspense and feelings of the heroine were so real. I loved the climax. I was so happy that she didn’t pull any punches. My only complaint was the epilogue it was just incomplete. It jumped up months ahead. Left all the good parts out. I do recommend this book.
I was extremely captivated by this story. Angeline and Maelstrom were strong in there own ways. What Angeline went through was odd but scary and came out stronger for it. Maelstrom seemed to possess a strong strength except when it came to woman. Love the ending.

This is a very dark, at times confusing, with over the top bad guys, a siren/merman, and an immature single POV. Please be aware there is also a sexual trigger in this story.
Angeline/Angie is an animal activist who along with her friends board a yacht thinking that they are going to save a baby whale instead they encounter something vastly different. Unfortunately their discovery gets them all killed and tossed over board with the exception of Angie.
Maelstrom is a captive of the captain of the yacht, which at times seemed to be almost as large as an oil tanker with all of the places that Angie was able to hide. It’s like every sleazy guy was on the yacht and worked for an equally oily creepy captain. Angie was in her swimsuit or pretty close to naked most of the story and it is brought to our attention ad nauseam.
Most of the story is told to us in narrative and we only get bouts of action with Angie being manhandled and used as bait to get Maelstrom to cooperate with their plans. Unfortunately Angie does not have what it takes to be the only POV for this story when the other lead only communicates telepathically. Not knowing what Maelstrom is thinking, along with him only saying a word or two makes this feel like we are trying to escape a darkened underwater room while trying to open the door as we are wearing mittens. The other only other voices we hear are their captors, with major sexual assault overtones or over the top bad guy speak.
There was an immaturity that I just couldn’t get past and was not able to connect with Angie. While I was glad she was able to regain herself after the abuse that she went through and wanted things to work out for her the ending left me as cold and disconnected as most of the story.

This book was fantastic! I ended staying up til 6am reading this, as I couldn’t put it down. It’s literally everything I’ve ever wanted in a male siren. The only thing I would change is I would have more scenes with the male protagonist and less of the graphic violence at the very end. It was VERY detailed and because I’m a weenie I had to sleep a few pages.
For me this book was what I thought it would be. It has the drama and suspense and a bit of horror in the mix. It has TRIGGERS! The authors definitely specify that warning! I felt empathy and remorse yet I also felt the horror and degradation. I found that the story was written very well. It is a story that will definitely keep you up and on the edge of your seat. You will get angry, you will be sad, you will want to throw your e reader. It will have your heart pounding and it will make you anxious! I know, it did me. I liked the characters and thought that these authors did a remarkable job at grabbing the attention of the reader and guiding them through the story. Would I recommend this book? Yep! Will I be BOLOing these two authors? You better B.E.L.I.E.V.E. it!

MEH. Thought this would be interesting cause I'm a huge (dark) siren/mermaid romance fan but this was purely human having sex with a merman smut. It wasn't that interesting mainly because they was zero wholesome connection between the MCs worth mentioning.
Personally, a good human meets other species romance only counts when they get to know each other on a more emotional level apart from attraction because....could you seriously that you'll fall in love at first sight with "a hideous beast" reminiscent of Alien Vs Predator without knowing the true persona of the beast?
NOT that the merman here was a beast lol. Predator, yes. But he was unearthly good-looking, so that wasn't so much as fair as he was truly scary.
OVERALL I wouldn't recommend this to any fans like myself.
I'm going to be honest this was a weird one for me. The book was quick moving and even though it wasn't short per say it felt like a novella.
The issue for me is this book just didn't really have any depth to it. Not in the setting or from the characters. It was just ok.
The book made use of time skipping and I feel that this really didn't help the above issue. I will probably forget this book before the week is over that's how meh I felt about it.
Writing was decent but honestly this entire plot & conflict could be surmised in a sentence or two.
A story to give aquatic activists pause for thought! Angeline and Maelstrom is a most unusual love story. I love how the story unfolds and how they are portrayed in this story. My only complaint is it isn't longer. Without giving spoilers all I will say is that I especially adored the 2nd last chapter. You go girl! This story, though short, will have you thirsting for vengeance and being lured too by the siren's song. I loved the pull between Angel and Maelstrom. The need to free him and the desire to be with him was magnetic. Great plot. Can't wait to read more from this author

I haven't read too many mermaid/mermen stories so thought to give this a chance. Its not bad for a short quick read though at times i felt the scenes jump around instead of telling the story. I also didn't like how they kept using 2 names for Angeline/Angie every other paragraph. Also more conversations between characters would help.
