Someone once said, “Opposites attract.” (Clearly, they’d never met these two.)
Mariah comes from humble beginnings. She’s worked her tail feathers off. Her dream is now at her fingertips. Her motto: Achieving goals requires sacrifice.
Patton works in the family construction business. When he has to. He’d rather hang out on his boat all day. His motto: Life is meant to be enjoyed.
As shifters, they know instantly they’re mates. That doesn’t mean they like it. Or each other.
Someone also once said, “There's no escaping destiny.”
This series, Cybermates, is a spin-off of the P.O.L.A.R. series. Although it’s not necessary to read P.O.L.A.R. to enjoy Cybermates, there are references to characters and places in Cybermates that first appeared in and are explained further by reading the P.O.L.A.R. series.
WARNING: THIS BOOK IS INTENDED FOR ADULTS.
This is a steamy paranormal shifter fantasy romance series with an HEA and no cliffhangers. Fans of Zoe Chant, Terry Bolryder, Harmony Raines and T.S. Joyce may like this shapeshifter series.
Another fantastic addition to this series by Candace Ayers! This was the ultimate enemies-to-lovers fated mates story, and I just loved the angry dynamic between Patton and Mariah. Patton was a real tool in the beginning, but I loved watching his redemption arc. The ending was brilliantly done, and I can't wait to read more ♡
I really love this author’s work. The POLAR series was great bd now Cybermates is just as good. This couple was undeniably opposites in every way...but they work. Good book.
Book four in the Cybermates series brings Patton and Mariah's story. The author once again delivers an entertaining story filled with drama, humor and love. It's a sweet and sexy opposites attract romance with a hot and steamy chemistry. The story moves quickly and smoothly and I loved reading. I'm looking forward to the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
She does it again! This is a fabulous series that brings humor, emotion, romance, and downright fun to a story that is guaranteed to leave you in a warm, happy frame of mind. Patton and Mariah couldn’t be more mismatched, and that is what makes them perfect for each other. But the path is definitely rocky, and you will fall in love with both of them as well as the crazy residents of this little bit of paradise. I’d move there in a heartbeat but will be satisfied with the glimpses this author provides in each of her releases. Bring on the next one, and I’ll reread while I wait.
Not my favorite of the series and I can't put my finger on exactly why. The characters were okay, but no bonding going on so I never became invested in their relationship.
Changed Mate is the fourth book in the Cybermates series, but reads well as a stand alone. Mariah is a hard worker with her dream within reach when she meets her mate. He’s nothing like she wanted, not that she has time for him anyways, but his easygoing ways are tempting. While their heads say stay away, will Mariah and Patton avoid fate and matters of their hearts?
This book had me laughing and crying and just feeling so involved with Mariah and Patton! I loved their romance, their rocky journey, their stubborn wills, and the trials they need to overcome. Mariah has been so driven by her dream, is a bit of a control freak, but the more time she spends with Patton, she realizes that she’s lonely and doesn’t laugh often. Patton avoids responsibilities like the plague, but he knows when to step up when needed, and I loved how his heart slowly became more and more engaged with Mariah! I loved their time spent together, charged with energy and tension and when they finally come together, there’s fireworks! Literally, I swooned with the ending, I adored how everything played out in the end, and I was flipping through these pages and did not want this book to end! I have really enjoyed this series and loved this addition!
Changed Mate is the fourth book in Candace Ayers’ Cybermates series.
Parrot shifter, Mariah Starr comes from rough beginnings and has worked her entire life to make dreams come true. Bear shifter, Patton James has never really had to work very hard in his life and would rather spend the day relaxing on his boat. Mariah and Patton both have strong, independent personalities and a firm since of what they want out of life. But when circumstances bring them together sparks fly! They say oil and water don’t mix, but opposite do attract and when they do the chemistry is explosive! Will the couple be able to find a compromise before both their happily ever after and dreams are destroyed forever? Read it to find out.
This is a steamy shifter romance that is written in first person, from the point of views of both the hero and heroine. Ayers does a fantastic job with all her books. She is a phenomenal writer and all of her books are quick, fun reads with steamy exchanges between the main characters that always bring a smile and blush to my face. I can’t wait for book 5!
This is an honest review of an advance reader’s copy.
Loved this book and the series. Patton doesn’t want a mate he likes his lifestyle too much laying around on his boat but his brother has to go away and he is needed to finish a contract. Mariah has worked her whole life towards her dream of opening a shop to sell her beauty products from last thing she needs is a mate but when Patton turns up to fit her shop they both realise they are mates. They both want to ignore it but it doesn’t work like that they keep getting drawn together but after Mariah leaves him in the night after spending a brilliant day together they have a massive row and end up ignoring each other really Patton ignores her. The day before the opening the shop has come together but her part time manager she hired hits her and ruins the shop the only person she thought to go to was Patton. Mariah turns up on Pattons boat and when he finds out what has happened he is mad but needs to make the shop right her friends turn up all ready to help while his brother and the builders sort the shop he finds the person who injured his woman. The shop opening goes brilliantly now she just needs to see Patton and accept the mating bond
Mariah comes to the island to rent a store to sell her homemade products. She came from the swamps very poor and determined. Now, at 32 it is about to occur! The bunny matchmaker is at it again…she has her eyes on Mariah to set her up with a man…and she has the single James brother, Patton in mind. Mariah hires James and Patton to construct shelving for her shop. When Patton and Mariah meet, they are mates! Neither wants a mate, especially now~ As the days move forward the two hook up and are beginning to change their minds about many things~ When Patton finishes the job and warns her about her new manager she takes it as an insult so he leaves the island with his brother out to sea. When she is attacked and her shop torn to pieces…the first thing she does is shift into her parrot and go looking for her mate! Does she find him? Can he help her save her dream? Will he get the person who did this? What will happen to her business now? I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
I've read several of Ms. Ayers books and have enjoyed all. However, in this segment the male's laziness, constant beer drinking and need to hide from everyday working life was such a disappointment. The female's compulsive need to be an island but wants success above all is just annoying. I am very disappointed in both characters that obviously were coping with mental issues were just plain boring. Early in the book I was thinking skip this one and carefully read reviews before starting next book in the series. I forced myself to complete what I started.
Thank goodness for Kindle Unlimited that I didn't shell out $10+ bucks on this disjointed and disappointing book. Am thinking to give Candace Ayers books a careful look at reviews before selecting to add to my library.
It starts out with Patton, a bear shifter who prefers lazing to work even though he can do the work with his eyes closed and his hands tied behind his back and a parrot shifter who grew up dirt poor and used her natural talents to get herself somewhere positive. I really liked this story. In a weird way, it kind of gave me hope for my current situation. It was easy to see many parts of Mariah in myself which made her really relatable, if a bit uptight. I wouldn’t have minded her skillset, though. You never know what it will take to make love stand up and to show you how many friends you have in this world even when you think you’re a loner. Overall, I enjoyed this story maybe a little bit more than the rest but I’m still looking forward to the next story in the series!
Loved this book. You cannot fight fate. Neither Mariah or Patton wanted or needed a mate. Mariah has been pursuing her dream for as long as she can remember. She came from pretty much almost as low as you can go and she has fought her way out. And now her dream is so close to coming alive. To bad she has to rely on Patton to finish her shop. You cannot get much more laid-back, relaxed, wants nothing to do with working, then Patton. But his brother has given him a Carpenter job that needs to be done in two weeks. What he wasn’t expecting was to find his mate. They both made it quite clear that they do not want a mate. It was such a fun ride watching them trying to deny what fate had set up. The book was amazing, I loved the characters and had a perfect happy ending.
Mariah is planning on opening her own shop and that is how she meets Patton. Parrot shifter Mariah Starr has been building up a business of selling her own handmade toiletries now she is planning to open her own shop to sell her products. After a few delays she manages to lease a property then she looks around for a construction firm to rebuild and fit out the property for her shop. She decides on local company James Construction and talks to one of the owners Jake James but when the time comes to start she finds herself dealing with Grizzly shifter Patton James who is annoying late for meetings and the most annoying her mate. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Once again we are her on this little island in Florida. Each book is a stand alone but characters from previous books are a vital part of the series. To say that Mariah is Lazer focused is an understatement! And that Patton only works when he needs to to get the job done again an understatement!! These two are oil and water and do both sparks and tempers flare when they are around d each other. I liked how focused she was but no balance in her life. I liked how she laied it on thick to Patton and you got her story all while she stands naked on his boat ! Patton's view of having a mate was what you think all single men think but when that little Parrot came into his life .... well this was a fun read to see how he changed. And how a realization of life changes her.
Book 4 and I still laugh at Parker's antics when she thinks she has pushed two people together as part of her Cybernates matchmaking agency lol. Up next for Parker's treatment is Mariah and Patton. Mariah with dreams of owing her own product boutique and Patton a but lazy but sick of living in his brothers shadow. It's definitely not a match made in heaven , they both hare each other and they don't want mates. Fate wants what fate wants. But when Marriage life is put in danger and Patton isn't there we'll you need to read what happens. I love this series. I mean I love shifter books anyway and Parker makes me giggle
Changed Mate: Cybermates Book 4 By Candace Ayers Kindle unlimited purchase Mariah has hired James construction to help get her shop ready for her grand opening. When her friend recommends the company she had high hopes. But what she got, well. Patton is not like his brother, Jake they are the polar opposite. At first, I didn't like Patton. He was childish and rude. But as the book went on he grew on me. I'm looking forward to the next book. Lion shifters are my favorite shifters. I can't wait to read Dylan's book! Cherished Mate Charmed Mate Chased Mate Changed Mate Chosen Mate: Jul 16, 2020 Craved Mate: Aug 16, 2020
Goal oriented and controlling parrot shifter, cosmologist Mariah Starr has finally decided to open a brick and mortar showcase for her products and she’s anxious. Talented but self-indulgent contractor bear Patton James doesn’t get why people can’t just do what he wants when he wants when it’s so much fun to be on perpetual vacation.
When they first meet, it’s definitely fireworks! Not only is Patton more than 4 hours late to start work on Mariah’s shop that scheduled to open soon, they’re mates and neither wants that! But when shouting doesn’t work to make Patton get working on the shop, Mariah pleads while spilling her life story actually does since Patton’s intrigued. Rating: 3stars
Enjoyable and funny, Changed Mate is a great opposites attract story - Mariah is so driven to make her business a success at any cost whereas Patton epitomizes the laid back, carefree kind of guy. Yes, once they meet, they immediately know they’re mates, but how can they reconcile their personality differences?
Fun to read how they deal with those differences (and fight their physical attraction) and then heartwarming to see how each, in time, learns acceptance of the other.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, however, this is my honest opinion.
This is another great book in this series! It has romance, wonderful characters and lots of twists and turns. Mariah is very goal orientated and finally is opening her store which makes her nervous and excited at the same time. She hires a construction company to make the changes to her store for her opening day. In comes Patton, late on the first day which irritates Mariah to no end. The ride they take together is fun and romantic most of the time with a few glitches on the way but, in the end, they decide being mates is definitely what they want.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the different approach this book took to the whole "Fated Mates" situation. Mariah and Patton have huge differences to overcome in this opposites attract romance. I thought the story line was fun and the characters likable. The sparks fly with each clash of words, personalities or battle to resist their intense attraction. A very fun read. I am choosing to post a sincere, volitional review.
Oh what a disaster this is going to turn out to be, or is it? Mariah makes her own bath products and is opening her own shop on the island, and the only person available to help get the shop up is the carefree, laid back, no care in the world attitude Patton James. How in the world will these two handle one another when he doesn't seem to care about anything but himself? Read it to find out, you will be amazed.
Mariah and Patton were complete opposites. Yet some how they worked. This is book four in the series and each one keeps getting better and gives a bigger taste of the residents in the town. This is a great series with a fun cast of characters. Mariah and Patton thought they could outsmart Parker's matchmaking skills. When will they learn? Great book!
Neither are looking for their mate. And honestly want to run in the opposite direction as quickly as possible but fate doesn't care about your plans. And meeting your mate and protecting them and helping them achieve their dreams to become better versions of themselves. No shame in that at all.
Mariah has worked her whole life focusing on being a successful business owner. She's hot it big with her bath and body care line. While Patton on the other hand, lately has run has far from work as he can, plus neither wants a mate. So how is that going to work out? Guess you will have to read to find out. Good series.
I have devoured both the P.O.L.A.R. Series and Cybermates series, one right after the other. I’ve read Bears of Burden series as well as She-Shifters of Hell’s Corner. Candace Ayers is such an amazing author. Her stories are fun, fast, sexy, funny, frustrating and at times you want to smack some characters upside the head. I am definitely downloading the rest of her books.
..I read this book. Have to admit Patton is not my favorite character. I am more like his mate. Would be pissed at a grown man drifting (yes I meant in a boat) through life. And whining about his Big Brother. But I did grow to understand that they were good together.
