The first three psychological thrillers in the award-winning Secrets of Redemption Series: It Began With a Lie, This Happened to Jessica, The Evil That Was Done.
A fresh start. That's what Becca hoped the move from New York to Redemption, Wisconsin, would be for her troubled family. A way to get her crumbling marriage back on track, and to bond with her difficult 16-year-old stepdaughter.
But instead of a new beginning, Becca is thrust into a mysterious past she barely remembers. A past that includes …
Complications from interacting with her old teenage crush, Daniel …
Struggling to regain her memory of the night 16-year-old Jessica disappeared …
Dealing with the townspeople, who are convinced she and her family are behind many of the violent murders and disappearances that have plagued Redemption …
Living in her aunt’s old house, which the locals swear is haunted.
But there's no such thing as ghosts. Right?
So, what IS the real secret of Redemption?
2018 Paranormal Romance Guild's Reviewers' Choice Winner for Book and Book Series
A USA Today Bestselling, award-winning author, Michele taught herself to read at 3 years old because she wanted to write stories so badly. It took some time (and some detours) but she does spend much of her time writing stories now. Mystery stories, to be exact. They're clean and twisty, and range from psychological thrillers to cozies, with a dash of romance and supernatural thrown into the mix. If that wasn't enough, she posts lots of fun things on her blog, including short stories, recipes and more, at MPWNovels.com.
Michele grew up in Wisconsin, (hence why all her books take place there), and currently lives there with her husband and Harvey, her rescue beagle, after spending nearly 30 years living in the mountains of Prescott, Arizona.
When she's not writing, she's usually reading, hanging out with her dog, or watching the Food Network and imagining she's an awesome cook. (Spoiler alert, she's not. Luckily for the whole family, Mr. PW is in charge of the cooking.)
Definitely a captivating story, joining Becca and the Redemption crew as they wade through some pretty tight spots, all with the help of Aunt Charlie from beyond the grave.
I saw this series on Facebook and when I saw that the author was offering the prequel for free, well who could say no! The prequel pulled me into Redemption and didn’t let go so of course I had to buy the series. The series didn’t let me down! I devoured each book in a day that’s how lost I became. I am so sad that this ended but I’m glad to see that Michelle hasn’t said goodbye to Redemption fully. This series is so great in so many ways, the setting, the characters, the twists and turns, and especially the ghosts. I will be buying The Reckoning and the Summoning for Christmas as a gift to myself. I will be keeping my eye on this author for a long time.
This three book series is very different yet and very hard to stop reading till you finish it. I found nothing to say that's bad as about these books. I love the ghost and yet real murderer that is so hidden it really makes it hard to figure out who did what.
Back and forth the story went. I am glad Becca finally stopped her over the top guessing. About - well-EVERYTHING. It was just too much in books one and two. Book 3 was like a new beginning to the story. I am glad I read it and found the writing of the story, very good.
I enjoyed the book, but there was a lot of repetition in descriptions. All of her favorite outfits were green, because it brought out the green in her eyes & red in her hair. If she wasn't sweating from fear she felt like she was gonna puke.
The protagonist makes so many bad decisions not to talk to the people in her life that could help her it gets a bit tedious. I found myself reading to the end to find out what happens, but I didn't much like the main character/heroine/narrator.
The first three books are well written with unexpected twists and turns. Every page keeps you wanting to know what is going to happen next, so you don't want to put it down until you have finished it.
I can really recommend I could not put down every second I had to read a bit more the story line is very good if your reading this review and thinking to get the books I really do recommend happy reading .😀
This is a three book set. It should have all been one book - it could have easily been condensed and not lost any of the plot/meaning, etc..... It's a mystery, pyscho thriller & some ghost/dream stuff thrown in. A decent story but just too drawn out.
It should have been a DNF, I was sadly disappointed, but due to curiosity I did skip read it. I don't think I will bother with the remainder of the series.
A great box set. It appears that moving to Redemption has been a bane for Becca. Is her aunt's house really haunted? Why can't Becca remember what happened sixteen years ago? What was the evil that was done? These books had me hooked. They were difficult to put down. Well crafted and the eerie atmosphere is well portrayed. Wholesome cast of characters.
I seriously couldn’t put these three books down. I read the first one and immediately got the next two. So entertaining with so much suspense and twists-definitely a page turner!
