Brooke From the moment I meet Matt, passion ignites between us. Unfortunately for me, he’s on my father’s fire crew and is strictly off limits. But Matt is a man too smoldering hot to resist. And once we start dating, it feels like nothing in the world can tear us apart. Turns out, though, there is something that might destroy us. I’m devastated. But I don’t see how we can keep our relationship ablaze.
Matt I’ve always had a single, focused aspiration: become a fire chief. But when I meet Brooke, a whip-smart curvy goddess, my need swells like a wildfire: marry Brooke, have babies with her, give her everything she could ever want…and become chief. But achieving all that isn’t as straight-forward as it should be. First, there’s the fact that she’s my boss’s daughter. Next, news from afar threatens to pull us apart. No way in hell am I going to give up, though. Not when I know Brooke is the love of my life.
Dear Reader, Fire alert! This little hot instalove novella is about an alpha firefighter claiming his curvy woman. It can be read as a standalone, but is best enjoyed with the rest of the Lighting The Alpha’s Fire series. Get ready for a smokin’ hot hero, a sassy heroine, and a lovey-dovey happy ending! xo, Kate
Matt is a firefighter and Brooke is a teacher and also the daughter of the chief. When her class visits the firestation and Brooke and Matt lock eyes for the first time, they fall instantly in love. But what will be her father's thoughts on them going out?
Honestly, everything about this story was bland and predictable. It's like the author was poking at themes without diving any deeper. We are just supposed to believe whatever the author is telling us. Both characters fall in love instantly? Believe me, they love each other. Doesn't show it. They get frisky? Trust me, it's hot between them, they can't hold back. Doesn't show it. Like...There was just nothing interesting about this.
The way her eyes glitter at me tells me nothing’s ever going to be the same.-Matt
The characters had no personality. They were just generic and uninteresting; He's hot and fit, and she's curvy and sexy. Wowser. And don't get me started with the choppy pacing. I understand it's a short and supposed-to-be fluffy love story but there was just no feelings in it. No passion. I didn't find it cute. I feel bad for being so blunt but I try to be honest in all my reviews.

Would I recommend this novella? I don't think I would. It just wasn't a good story to me. It lacked on so many levels. I felt absolutely nothing reading it. I believe this author isn't for me, but I already have the other books of this series sitting in my kindle, and I will read them. I'm just hoping the other ones will be better.
**Note that I do not rate novellas and full-length books by the same standards**
Brooke is the daughter of the Fire Chief and as a teacher has arranged for a tour of the fire station which is where she meets Matt aka Blaze, one look at the new Captain and she is smitten but with him working for her dad she knows that he is off limits and surely a man like him wouldn’t want a curvy girl like her but the way he is looking at her she can’t help but wonder maybe. But how would her father react to her dating a firefighter?
Matt has raced his way through to the top making Captain in just five years which is how he got his nick name Blaze, he is proud of his achievements and when his Chief reminds him that they have a school visit that afternoon and his daughter is coming he makes sure that everything is in order, but nothing prepared him for the curvy goddess that walks through the door he knows that she is the one. Can he convince Brooke to date him?
This was an enjoyable read. Matt and Brooke have an immediate chemistry that they can’t ignore. Brooke is nervous about dating a man that works for her father but her pull to Matt is too strong. They have a couple tiny bumps but fate is on their side.
Safety and Spoilers Completely safe. No ow/om drama. Both non virgins and their pasts aren’t mentioned. No abuse.
A cute, quick read where the fire is sometimes in the bedroom or elevator or... well, you get the picture. I enjoyed this as part of the Book Boyfriends collection.
Brooke brings her students to the firehouse for a tour. Her father's the chief and she meets Matt a member of his crew while she's there. When Matt returns from a call he notices a kids hat on the floor and grabs it to return to Brooke the next day. Sparks fly between them when he comes to her school to return the hat and even though she usually doesn't date firemen she agreed to go out with him. This progressed quickly between them and they even told her father about them But Matt never told her that he was looking at another firehouse to be chief at and that it was further away from where they currently lived. Will she move to be with him? Can they have a long distance relationship?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Blaze is the first book in the new Lighting The Alpha’s Fire series by Kate Hunt and all I can say is ..................... 5 Alarm Blaze on my Kindle!!!!
This is the story of Captain Matt, aka Blaze and Brooks Adams. Matt has been a firefighter for five years and has blazed a trail up the ranks from probie with his goal set on being made Fire Chief. He joined his current station a year ago and has brought a lot to his house and his men. Brooke is a first grade teacher who also happens to be Fire Chief Adams only child. One day she brings her first grade class to the firehouse to get a tour by the firemen. This is the first time Matt and Brooke have met each other and there are more than a few smoldering looks that pass between them and some super hot internal thoughts for them each. Even though Brooke is the boss's daughter Matt is not going to be deterred as he quickly realized that she is his future and will be the mother of his children. So he does what any determined firefighter does...............he charges ahead after determining his best plan of attack.
This story is sweet, romantic, fast-paced, steamy hot with a great story-line and wonderful characters that a believable. Blaze also introduces the reader to several other characters in the firehouse and the elementary school, along with Matt's younger brother, that you just know will be having their own stories in future books in the series. I really enjoyed reading this story and look forward to the next book in the series. A definite recommend read!!!
Romance trope: insta-love Series: Lighting the Alpha's Fire Length: 46 pages
Plot: Brooke is a teacher and Matt is a fireman, working under her dad, the chief. Matt has plans of his own, though, which include becoming the chief of his own firehouse and maybe convincing a certain lady that it's worth ignoring all the naysayers.
Commentary: Cute story - Brooke is a teacher who takes her class to the firehouse and Matt uses the excuse of a lost hat to go and see her. I thought the dad's reaction was a little weird - at one point, there was something about a kid staring at him and there was no explanation about that. And then I guess his general demeanor was explained by him wanting to retire. That was a good resolution to the story and I actually liked his book even more ( Chief).
Matt is the captain of the fire station and one day he wants to be chief Blaze is his nickname the guys at the station gave it to him because he’s the fastest one there he’s proud of where he is he’s worked hard and it’s only taken him 5 years to get where he is now. Chief Adams walks up to Blaze and reminds him that his daughter is bringing her class to the station today so Blaze got everything ready but what he wasn’t ready for was the chiefs daughter Brooke she’s all curves and Blaze knows that he has just met his future. As soon as Brooke meets Captain Matt she has this mantra going through her head stop thinking naughty thoughts stop thinking naughty thoughts she tries to ignore him and concentrate on the kids but it’s not easy she is also in her dads firehouse and Brooke knows that he is off limits but there’s no harm in fantasising, little does Brooke know that Blaze is going to persue her with everything he’s got. Fantastic story I loved it and I loved the epilogue at the end to me it completes the story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
Blaze is book one in the lighting the alpha’s fire series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Matt is the captain at a local firehouse. He loves his job and he hopes to move up to become fire chief. He has no plans to find love but that soon Changes. Brooke is a schoolteacher that is the daughter of the fire chief. When Brooke and Matt meet, sparks fly between them. The chemistry between Brooke and Matt is clear to see and I liked them as a couple. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.
I really liked this short instalove story. It was entertaining and who doesn't like firefighters? The characters were interesting and likable. I would definitely be up for keeping Blaze/Matt!
Brooke and Matt meet when she brings her class to the fire station for a tour. Matt works on Brooke's father's crew which should mean a relationship between them is off-limits. Their attraction though is smoking hot and hard to resist. They decide to start dating and soon feel like nothing can come between them until something might....
The instant attraction and feelings between these two were super steamy. I loved the dates they went on and the time they spent getting to know each other. The concerns about Matt on Brooke's father's crew were easily handled so the angst was low level. Their happy ever after made me smile. I recommend reading this book.
Well Brooke and Matt don’t do anything halfway. Matt’s nickname is Blaze as he attacks his firefighter job with gusto. Brooke is an intense teacher who gives her all to her students. They both are close to their families, faults and all. So when these two meet, it only naturally falls that their romance would burn brightly for all to see. It consumes them but in a good way. I thoroughly enjoyed this quick read and will definitely read more by this author!!

Okay - who doesn’t love a strong, handsome fireman that will make you swoon and your knees tremble? I, for one, do and this sweet instalove by Kate hit all the right buttons to ignite my kindle. A little bit of sweetness, a little bit of steam and a sweet HEA, all wrapped up in a quick (less than an hour) story that is perfect for right before bed or a quick lunchtime read. I loved it and can’t wait to read about the other guys of this firehouse!

I have to tell you, this book is one of those exceedingly sweet, romantic short stories. The sort of short story, everyone loves to read while you, are in long lines, getting gas.
Brooke and Matt, meet each other when she, has the children from her class, there on a field trip. It's an instant shot to the heart for both of them. But, there is one big obstacle. Namely, her father who is also Matt’s Chief at the fire station.
Matt was given the name, Blaze for a reason. He has moved up the ranks, quickly. See how this can affect the possible romance, forming between them.
Insta-love at it's finest. What I loved the most about this was that Matt didn't care that Brooke was the chief's daughter. He instantly knew she would be his and didn't beat around the bush. He went after her and didn't look back. It's refreshing to read about a man not waiting around or not knowing what he wants. This was short but sexy and just what I needed to decompress.

This is the first installment in a new series about firefighters. Actually, do I need to say more than that?!? Well... when Matt first meets Brooke the chemistry between the two lives up to his nickname of Blaze! The next installment is Brooke's father. I'm looking forward to reading more about him and Atlas.

Great book! Brooke’s dad is a fire fighter and the man she wants to date works for her dad. Them dating will never happen but when loves ablaze sometimes it’s hard to put a fire out. Will they be able to stay together or get torn apart like a fire?

I really enjoyed Blaze. Matt is the captain of the firehouse and he meets Brooke, the chief's daughter, when she brings her class in for a tour of the station. Their attraction is instantaneous and he determined to make her his. Their conversations flow easily, the chemistry is unmistakable and steamy. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
I loved reading this story. It had me smiling the whole time I was reading it. The instant mutual attraction was, breathtaking, and fun to read. I enjoyed the descriptions, bringing little aspects of the story to life. Loved the epilogue, with a smile and a longing sigh.....
Great story of love at first sight. But in this story She is the Fire Chief's daughter and 1st grade teacher at the local school. Blaze is the captain at her father's station. Will they be able to have a future together or will they have to break up because of him wanting to be a fire chief and expand his career. Or will they find a way to have their happily ever after.
Another sizzling hot read from Kate Hunt. I loved this book and it read so easily. The chemistry between the two MC's was so tangible. I highly recommend this book for those who love a steamy, quick-read with a perfect HEA.

I inhaled Matt and Brooke's Instalove short story. It's sweet and heartfelt. I could see and feel their chemistry just from reading the author's words, which is what I want. This is my first Kate Hunt book but not my last. I went and grabbed Brooke's dad's story. If you need a sexy bedtime story I highly recommend Matt (BLAZE) and Brookes' story. 5 stars!
1st half good n 2nd half I didn't care for. I didn't care for the fmc. She had no personality. Mmc, his personality came through a Lil. I felt she didn't care for the mmc like he cared for her. We will never know whether she would have chosen to go or not . I feel she would have said no. Characters didn't have tome to develop into anything. Boring in a way .
Love this quick read from Ms. Hunt. Brooke and Matt were so good together. Their chemistry was combustible. Good thing he is a fireman. Can’t wait to read more from this new series.

Matt's always had a single, focused aspiration: become a fire chief. Then he meets Brooke. This was quick, sweet, steamy, and romantic. Strong family ethics. First time reading this author. Won't be the last.

This is an insta-love story between two good people who are just right for each other. The plot has a little bit of drama but nothing they could not solve by communicating and knowing what their heart wants!

Matt is on duty when the Chief's daughter Brooke brings her class for a visit. He can't stop thinking about her and she feels the same. Things get a bit awkward when her dad finds out, but it's mostly in their part. Great ending.
