When your back's against the wall, all you can do is fight. Or hit the bottle…

Haunted houses aren't supposed to have embodiments of pure evil living in them.

This one did.

With Amelia gone, taken by the Dark One—an entity composed of her parent's souls—I have to figure out a way to get her back. But in the meantime, an old enemy has shown up—trailing death in his wake and pinning all the murders on me.

Assuming I rescue Amelia and the Dark One doesn’t kill me, I still have to find a way to take down the cult that opposes the Order Of The Serpent, which means taking a crazy journey to a forsaken desert in search of the ultimate evil. And then hope that ultimate evil doesn’t destroy me before I find a way to destroy it.

Everything is at stake this time—the world, my soul and the lives of all the people I care about.

If I survive, maybe I’ll write a song about it all…though don’t expect to hear this one on the radio.

I’m N.P. Martin and I’m a lover of dark fantasy and horror. Writing stories about magick, the occult, monsters and kickass characters has always been my idea of a dream job, and these days, I get to live that dream. I have tried many things in my life (professional martial arts instructor, bouncer, plasterer, salesman…to name a few), but only the writing hat seems to fit. When I’m not writing, I’m spending time with my wife and daughters at our home in Northern Ireland.

This is the concluding book in this series, and I really wish it wasn’t. Corvin is ready to rescue his girlfriend, but someone from his past is killing people while looking like Corvin. Not only that, he’s blackmailed into being on the Council. How will he have time to do everything before someone else dies? I just loved this series, and I especially loved this last book. The books are well-written, have some great action, and the characters are fun. Speaking of characters, Corvin has really grown, and I have come to adore the side characters and would like to see more of them. I really hope we can get more in this series! Highly recommend, and I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Rising Son is Book 3 of the Gods and Monsters Trilogy by N.P. Martin (Neal). As stated in previous book reviews, Neal is an exceptional author with the ability to draw the reader into the story to experience what is happening with the characters and this book is no exception. This is a fantastic close to this Trilogy. Many of Corvin's personal issues are resolved while he was trying to juggle the events that were present that he needed to take care of. This is a fast paced, action packed, page turning adventure with twists/turns I did not see coming. I hope we will see Corvin and the other wonderful characters again in the future. I found this Trilogy to be one of the best I've read and highly recommend it. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.

This is an author I would recommend. The stories are interesting, entertaining and engaging. The main character is kickass, has power and is mastering them. Some personal issues are resolved all while trying to stop his nasty lookalike. Blackmail, Paranormal, action and adventure are all present in this well-written conclusion to the series. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

So the final chapter, god I hope not. Well there is enough action and things in this book to keep you reading right through to an ending you just don’t see coming. I just cannot get enough of this author. I hope we will see a sequel of some sort. Very highly recommended.

Action packed

Gods and demi-gods, strange creatures , murder and mayhem. The whole world is in danger, dark versus light. Corvin has to save the world. A fantastic set of books.

Awesome conclusion to this trilogy…

This is the third book of the Gods and Monsters Trilogy and, like the first two, is non-stop adventure from start to finish. Corvin, the main character, has developed so much over the course of these stories. In this book he finally gets to resolve some personal issues, gain some incredible new magical abilities, and face off with a malevolent being bent on global annihilation. Somehow in the midst of all this he also finds a little time to reflect and come to terms with his feelings for a certain young woman in his life. There is no shortage of danger, action, or unexpected twists and turns as the imaginative plot draws you in and demands your attention right up to the conclusion. A cadre of interesting and dynamic characters drawn from various mythologies and superstitions are deftly woven together to provide a fabulously entertaining read. I am hopeful that, at some point, the author might consider writing another set of adventures for these wonderful characters. I highly recommend this series to any fan of dark urban fantasy.

I received an advance copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily offering this honest and unbiased review.

If you find this review helpful, I would appreciate you so indicating.
