I never asked to become a princess. My plan was to graduate college and take over my uncle's karate dojo. Instead, my parents dropped me off in a castle full of strangers to learn how to take over a kingdom. I'm bored, I can't kick anyone, and there's one major problem - I think one of my new teachers is trying to kill me.
In this Choose the Ending Novel, follow the story of Marina, reluctant princess and heir to the throne, as she meets the warm-hearted King Cyrus, the snarky Prince Julian, the cunning Prince Nikos, the wise Evann, and the mysterious Tai - five handsome strangers who are undetermined as friend or foe. Choose one of five endings - or create your own!
The story reads fast paced, starting off right when the action begins with Marina finding out by a King that she just met that she is Crown Princess and heir to the throne of another kingdom, and that her father shipped her there to learn how to be a Princess. She is of-course, as expected, angry and frustrated for being lied to her whole life, and unlike majority of girls who would love to be in her shoes, Marina is reluctant to accept the position.
We are a introduced to a series of strong male characters, all with completely different traits and personalities, that must guide and support Marina in her new task. It astounded me how the author was able to give chemistry between Marina and all 5 princes. They all had that intense connection to Marina, in different ways, and you could feel the tension and longing with all of them. However I did have a favorite between them, even though I loved them all. Deidrea is truly a master of character chemistry. I felt at times it sounded similar to a reverse-harem story, which I enjoy very much. Of-course, I am more drawn to brooding male characters and couldn't resist Prince Julian most of all. His ending was also my favorite between all of them, as well as his extra point of view part at the end.
The mystery behind the threats, poisoning, mental health issues of the King, her families secrets, and the Double Eights, kept the story action-packed and intriguing. I was glad to see the book talked about psychological issues such as panic attacks, it is good to see these mental health topics being brought up more in fantasy literature. The main character, Marina, was relatable and easy to connect to. I also felt her frustrations and anger towards her family and everyone at the castle for keeping secrets from her, I also felt the pull towards all the Princes, and I loved how bad-ass she was fighting almost every other chapter with her karate skills.
I found the choose your ending part super fun, I absolutely loved this in the Goosebumps books in my teen years. I had to read all the possible endings since I am too curious to know what would happen in all of them. I will definitely be looking into the other books by Deidrea, I love how she writes, you can feel the chemistry!
Love traingles? Common thing. Nothing new but, Love pentagon?? Well that is new. And the good was....wait if I say that it will be a very big spoilers. So if you want to know Mariana ends up with, you really need to read this book. It was really refreshing. Had me hooked from the start. Actually I was so hooked that I had to leave all my work aside to read this one. Yup. That much enjoyable.
This was indeed was different experience for me. Reading about female characters who knows how to give a sucker punch is always my favourite. I like it the main protagonist knows how to kick asses. Wonderful work Deidrea 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
4.5⭐️. Really, really enjoyed this book. It was such an easy read and i found myself getting lost in their world. I loved the characters, the author’s writing style and the story. And the cool thing is that you can choose the ending of the story (which i know sounds weird, as i first thought before i read the book, but it is actually really cool). Yeah, i really loved this book and i would recommend you read it.
Note: The author sent me her book in exchange for an honest review.
This was an amazing, fast paced novel with lots of unpredictable plot twists, incredible characters and interesting storyline. The main character was so lovely and the five princes were AMAZING! I honestly couldn’t my favorite because they were all so adorable. The storyline was so easy to follow which made me enjoy this book even more. As the author’s debut novel, this was so good, even better than I thought it would be. I am honestly shocked at how well written and thought out this story is for someone’s first written book. The characters were simple but complex at the same time. Just when you think you’ve figured someone out, there’s always something that throws you off the cliff. I found myself intrigued, worried, asking questions and sometimes even frustrated with the decisions some of the characters made. But that’s what a good book is supposed to make you feel. I honestly congratulate the author for doing such an amazing job. This is set in a modern world which makes it even more interesting. The best part about all this is that you can choose what ending you want to. There are five endings, depends on which prince you like more and of course I had to read all five of them. You can also write your own ending if you’re not satisfied enough with how it ends. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading about princes, kingdoms, betrayal and much more!
"Being a princess also means that you know how to stand up for yourself."👑🍇
A kingdom, a princess and five handsome princes. Even though Marina didn't want to be a princess I would loved to be in her place 😂. Marina, the main character was a beautiful, ambitious and strong girl that had her ideologies and I loved her karate skills. She was able to pass all the obstacles and fulfill her duty even though this was unexpected for her. The book has strong male characters, with different personalities. I was very impressed with the intense connection of all princes with Marina. I put myself in her place and felt her anger towards everyone at the castle for keeping secrets from her. Mystery, threats, family secrets, made this story very suspenseful and intriguing. The best thing about the book is the fact that you can choose your favorite ending or, even better, write it yourself! I really couldn’t choose between the princes because they were all amazing but I would like Prince Julian most of all. Thank you to the author for sending me a copy of her book in exchange of a honest review. I can't wait to start now the second book "The Rebellion".
Still believe it was written like a One Direction fanfiction circa 2012-2013. I can’t choose my favourite band member so they all have some redeeming qualities???? None of them were terribly likeable, except maybe Evann.
The conflict in this book wasn’t built up enough, every problem Marina faced felt like it was a forced issue, or was resolved within 3 pages.
Pick your ending was cool, made the book that much shorter. Skipped to pick the guy I hated the least.
⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 This book is one of the most enchanting and captivating books I have read. It's fast paced, so you don't get bored, and the plot is interesting in whatever way you look at it. It has gone and become one of my favourite books.
Each of the characters are very interesting and likeable. The best thing about the book is the fact that you can choose your preferred ending- or, even better, write it yourself! The plot is well written and devised as to produce five different endings with each of them being as good as the other in terms of connecting the plot to the final choice.
🔴SPOILERS🔴
The one thing that lowers my rating of five stars to four and a half is the fact that Cyrus, the kind and caring King, is held on what it seems like a tight leash for what he did at first to the main character. He sent threats to her, however he did not plan for her to get harmed, and the fact that she got harmed was not his fault- though he should have taken precise caution, even when he strictly ordered that no harm should come to her. His actions are seen as coming from paranoia rather than reason, the latter being that which my beliefs lay upon. As a King who has experienced how a cruel and misusing hand in ruling- especially monarchy- can play out. He, for the sake of his family and his country, must know whom he is dealing with should he marry. I know from first hand experience that not everyone are as they seem to be at first, so I know from experience myself that while he should have been more cautious concerning her safety, Cyrus did a rather wise thing a King would do. He did not wish a hand to be laid upon her and strictly ordered so, but on the other hand he should have been more careful.

This amazing debut novel enchanted me. It is faced paced, has unpredictable plot twists and lovable characters. And don’t let me start on the way the story was written. Simply amazing. I enjoyed it so much.
Before I started the book I thought the main character would be annoying, self centered, rude and definitely not a favorite of mine, but I was wrong. I totally loved her. All five of the characters were interesting and had their own personalities. Just as I thought I’d get a grasp on my feelings for one of them, the other would swoop in and woo the girl with his words. Quite honestly, at some points I wished I was her lol.
The best part of this book is that it has every ending you want, and getting a few pages of the characters point of view was a cherry on top. You can choose a different ending to which you can write it at the end, but I just felt too overwhelmed that I couldn’t choose one prince, so I think that the best decision is that we agree on five different alternate universes, for all five of them. Or six, if you want her to end up alone lol.
This author is a genius !!!!! This book was unlike anything I have ever read before and even just the idea of different possible endings for a book, all set together for the reader to choose… I LOVED IT !!! True to myself I ended up picking the one I fell for from moment one and despite everything happening in this book … nothing changed my love for him and I loved the fact that we got to read some scenes from the different love interests povs at the end of the book. A story that was interesting and innovative. A plot that was not static but quite real and ever changing. The narrative was fast paced and I enjoyed that very much. Marina, Cyrus, Julian, Evann, Nikos and Tai were so great it is hard not to love them all (some more some a bit less) !! And I’m so glad I had a chance to read their story and to be active part in determining their ending !!!
This book was so enjoyable. The main character was fun and quirky, and I absolutely loved the five princes. They each had unique characteristics, and as you learn about them throughout the story, you definitely favour one above the others. The plotline was solid and easy to follow, something that is super important to me. And choosing the ending was so much fun! I totally wanted to read them all, since I'm way too curious a person. Reading them all was lovely, but luckily the ending I chose was perfect :) Can highly recommend this book!
I had this recommended to me by a few family members and I was hesitant at how a “choose your own ending would go.” I decided to read it and … it was amazing. I feel like it had such a good plot it didn’t even need to be a choose your own ending to be interesting but I feel like the endings made it better! Highly recommend.
If you are looking for an easy read than “The five princes” is calling you. The writing was sooo good, the characters and everything felt real. Imagine yourself going on a birthday gift trip and booom you got the news that you are a princess isn’t it an opportunity to start living a new life ? I just couldn’t put this book down, I fell in love with all characters, they each had their own personalities that each of them were rare and kind. Sometimes i wish i was Marina she was strong, beautiful and so kind. I found myself having a conversation with Marina for example “giving her some opinions for what she should do” but she never listened to me🙈 And after all this the best part was that you can choose what ending you want to. For me this was an amazing read to start this month , I definitely recommend it.
4.5 Review Eng/Esp This was great, quite an experience! The plot twists, the romance, the humor, the mystery...
Deidrea did a good job of creating the psychological characteristics of each of the characters, I loved the development of these. The main character was very funny and the princes had very different and unique personalities.
The novel is well written, I loved the author's style, it is easy to follow if English is your second language.
At the end we can choose between five endings, if none of them you liked, there are extra pages for you to write your own ending! This was a very nice touch from Deidrea.

first I probably should mention that I’m normally not into romance at all but this book got me. (I read it in one sitting) It’s fast paced, easy to get into and the characters really grow to you after time. I enjoyed the action and the main lead who was a strong, independent Woman! The Word-building really makes this a page-turner. Im excited to read the second in this series, the Author has very much potential!
