Abducted by aliens? Yes.
Mistakenly bought as a family pet? Yep.
Actually, unexpectedly starting to enjoy the ride? I just might be.
I've been abducted, sold, and then sold again, all before I even knew what was going on.
Luckily for me, I might just have been bought by the three nicest....guys....in the universe.

Maisy has to adapt to her new life traveling through space, lucky for her she has a set of three alien brothers to help her along...big, furry and very affectionate, these brothers only come as a set.

*Contains themes of a very adult nature, meant for mature readers only. Warning - alien biology.*

So this was mostly a fun uncomplicated instalove sci-Fi romance that I did enjoy but for me also had some slight issues which I will get into later.
I also should mention that the cover for this is absolutely shocking and if I was going on kerb appeal this would have been a sound no way, that front cover needs updating immediately along with the rest of this series, it's just so bland and uninspiring.
So this is a reverse harem type of scenario with a pack of lion-like alien brothers who share there mate.
They also originally think she's some sort of pet the equivalent of a cute household puppy.
so the Lion pack itself consists of playful Tark who is the youngest, serious and take-charge Pate the oldest and in the middle, we have the family mediator Abner.
Events unfold after Maisy awakens aboard the brother's ship, Tark has purchased her from a dealer mistakenly thinking she is some sort of exotic species of pet.
So this had a lot here that I did like, but then it also had some issues which I did ignore somewhat because I was enjoying myself.
For starters, the world-building itself was a tad lacklustre and could have done with some expansion and deeper exploration we only skim the surface here leaving me at times feeling not fully immersed in the narrative.
Also, the boy's appearance while imaginative could have done with a bit more of an explanation as it was very vague in nature.
We need details, and a lot of them regarding there overall appearance and colourings.
We also only skimmed the surface with the two tails and other appendages and visually I had a hard time picturing their overall appearance in my head.
Things like they couldn't kiss because of there mouth structure and fangs but then had no problem putting it to use in certain bedroom scenarios structurally this just didn't make sense.
Also if you're going to give them two dicks let them use the two together if you get my drift otherwise what's the point.
Maybe a more visual picture on the front of the book would help clarify an image to imagine them.
Their appearance that is not their below anatomy though I'm sure that would also make an equally imaginative and compelling visual hehe.
Another thing that struck me was that Maisy herself managed to acclimatise almost instantly to her situation and we only have a very brief mention of her loved ones left behind on earth and almost nothing mentioned regarding her background-story other than waking naked, caged and afraid with others in a similar situation to herself.
It just didn't seem that realistic to me that she would be so blase about her whole new existence in space with massive lion-like aliens she more likely to be scared shitless.
Despite the above, I still enjoyed this it was amusing and sweet and at times surprisingly heartfelt.
I adored the brothers themselves especially Pate with his super-dominant streak he is most definitely the leader of this pack.
I also felt the relationship dynamic between all four was well done with an equal connection between them all.
So yeh this was a lot of fun and despite reservations, It was an interesting experience though I don't think I will be reading the next in this series as I am just not invested enough here.
With some small tweaks, this story could definitely be improved on as this has a lot of potential.
would still recommend this as I did keep me turning the pages.

I'm getting really tired of incomplete novels!

Time and again I get into the story, identify with characters and experience the plot only to have the "book" come to an abrupt end with no resolution. Amazon needs to require that such works come with a disclaimer like "the author appears to have just gotten tired of writing this and published it incomplete".

That being said, the "book" is well-written (a couple of typos: 'too' for 'to' in one place and 'cubical' for 'cubicle') and the author handles the narrative through shifting first-person viewpoints well. Had the "book" had a proper ending or had there been any indication that it was part 1 of N, I think I would have awarded it five stars.

I see some real potential here, but the writing was a bit clunky.

I liked Maisy and how she was determined to make the best of her situation. Tark and Abner were sweethearts though Pate took some getting used to.

I wish the author found a way to make kissing possible. It would add more intimacy.

The story ends quite abruptly with a lot of unresolved issues...I'll continue with the series.

Looooost in Space

Maisy is having a really bad day. Or, series of days. Not exactly sure since she's been awake and drugged back to sleep a couple times now. One minute she's going about her day on Earth, the next she's in a room with a bunch of other humans and a toad like being, the next thing she remembers is waking up to a giant alien kitty. That thing about no one hearing you scream in space, though? Not true. Kitty's brothers heard her loud and clear. Bought as a pet, they were a little baffled at first when she requested clothes and used utensils to feed herself. But they figured out quickly when she started asking for names. Now she has 3 giant alien cats trying to learn English enough that they can explain that they're dumping her at the nearest space station... What?!

Spoilers ahead.
While some parts were funny, some glossed over things too quickly to speed rail to that happy ending. I was glad to see the different cultures clash, the language barrier that took time to resolve, but the move to become mates seemed too quick. They had barely acknowledged her as intelligent before pouncing. Also, we get a description of her but other than vague alien cats with 2 tails (and other anatomical differences of the male variety) and mottled fur we get nothing. What colors are the fur? Are the claws retractable? Why 2 tails? Especially for cat like beings. Even arboreal cats, their tails aren't prehensile, just for balance, so why 2? For predators, which cats typically are, why not more arms, eyes, ...? Humans we don't need excessive details on, we know what those look like unless there's something unusual: scarring, lost limbs, ect. Why do brothers, born at different times, pair with the same mate? What evolutionary advantage or need did that meet? I have so many questions. And, the other humans, both the "pets" and purchased, why were they deemed pets? Anyone, anywhere on the food chain, is going to react badly to waking in a cage. The fact that they clung together, expressed emotions, should have warranted a 2nd glance and some questions. The staged accusations at the end, well, I'm not going to really go into those. We went from space faring, advanced beings, to "mean girls" scenarios that were entirely too contrived. And, for an advanced race, why were they not allowed to petition anyone? What the heck is their justice system like? Ack. I have way too many questions about what is probably meant to be a quick fluff read. But, I do applaud the premise. There's no "we need women", or slavery mentioned. So, a definite yay! I gladly give it 3 stars because of those and for a lack of major typos and errors. The other 2 are withheld because, for a series starter, we get no real background, no world building.

RAWR I want more!

I kept skipping over this book because of the bland homemade cover. But when I couldn’t find anything else in SFR I wanted to try, I decided I would take a chance on it. Luckily, the short book 2 was already out so I tried it also.
Spoilerish content
One, I’m glad I did try this series and I will look for the rest as they get released.
Few things though, I hope the writer puts more into the covers so that they attract more attention. Because while they say don’t judge a book by its cover, it’s kind of hard not to against all the flashy attractive covers in SFR.
Also, where is this writers social media? Email? Newsletters? Website? Some way to follow and get updates about upcoming releases would be appreciated.

As far as the book, the series appears to have some potential. Not too shabby for a new author. The books do need editing and grammar checks, but it’s not to the point that it lessened the experience.
Maisy, the human h of the story. Not a bad personality, we don’t learn too much about her life on earth and she doesn’t appears to have any unique hobbies or quirks, but I didn’t dislike her. I was fond of her being receptive to the H’s in this story. She was calm and collected and interacted rationally. No wallowing weak heroine stuff. I was super glad about that!
The H’s were Abner, Tark and Pate. All different personalities, but all really good with the h! Was a good story line how they thought her a pet, but after she woke up they quickly realized she was a species they didn’t know.
I enjoyed how they all responded to her smell.
All of the guys were respectful and everything was consensual. None of that captive crap.

Two things I didn’t like: the guys have two spines, two tails, TWO peens, and apparently a lot of internal sets of two. This was just kinda odd all the twos. Not a big deal, but the two tails just kept making me have kinda blah thoughts about their physical appearance in the rear with two. Like do they just lay on top of each other or what? They are a large cat lion type species.
Second, the hot scenes in the books were good. I’m glad she included them all at times and treated them equally. The bond felt strong. However, since they are packing two I kept thinking LET THEM USE BOTH! It felt like without letting them adequately put both to use at once that the human h wouldn’t stack up against a female of their species.

I recommend trying this series.

The sci fi stuff in this one was really cool! The spaceship, the aliens cultural practices and laws, and how the author handled the communication issues were really fun to read. The romance just ended up not being my thing. The h was the sexual aggressor because she’s so curious about their anatomy (they have two dicks) and the dudes are virgins because they don’t mate until they find their mate. Blah! Lol. I wanted passion and intimacy not curiosity. I prefer when the men are the aggressors too. I also thought the sex scenes were a little bland considering these dudes have two dicks and two tails. There’s a lot you can do with all those extra appendages, felt like a wasted opportunity.

The meet cute was my most fav part of this book. The aliens don’t know that she’s an intelligent being and bring her on board as a pet and put a shock collar on her beginning was a lot of fun. I just wish the author would have slowed down with the romance though. It was rushed for me. It was hard to accept that the h is just so accepting of her circumstances (being abducted and saved by cat men) and willing to just jump straight into bed. I would expect this type of speed from erotica and thought it was heading in that direction but then the last half was so plot focused. So why not just have the relationship development later on? Idk.

I may try more in the series to see how fast the other human FMCS relationships develop. Maybe this one needed to be fast so the author could set up the rest of the books?!?

Overall: 2.5

Needs so much work

I'm going to give this book 3 stars for having a very likable storyline, execution wise, it would be one single star. Editing needed bad! Also if you write a space read with aliens it had to read and feel so, reading one of these cat like aliens saying " what on earth " a plant they don't know of, or know that's where our heroine is from, those are big issues. Having no transplant yet but they are still having conversations like nothing, yes I think they are translating through a computer, but the human language would take forever to be able to do that, and we get this idea when she says "holy f***** s**** " it does not translate correct. The timing of human and alien relations moved way too fast, much is not explained, and so much comes out of no where. It kept me wanting to read on, but sadly I'm not sure if i want to continue the series quite just yet.

DNF'ed at 20%

I kind of feel bad reviewing this one because I honestly wasn't in the right frame of mind for this kind of book. I just came off a high from The Last Hour of Gann and Cottonwood, and let me tell you, any alien book I read after those one is going to fall flat. but anyway, I came into this expecting some relatable characters and dialog and story and thats not what this is, this is just meant to be the shell around an erotica.

An example being: We meet the 3 male characters instantly, but aren't told what they look like until 15% into the book. All we get is their fur color and that they are cat men. What does that MEAN? Cat faces? human faces with fur? do they have paws? what about claws? We know they have ear tufts and tails but what kind of ears? are their tails like a cats or lions? tufted human ears or full on cats?

So for 15% of the book 75% of the cast is just walking around in my mind as fuzzy blobs, and all we know about the MC is that shes human and has red hair. Thats it.

And its not just the characters that lack descriptions, its almost everything else. The entire book is just telling us what happens instead of showing.

I dunno, it really rubbed me the wrong way, I can read erotica, but not with so many holes in it. I get almost no descriptions of anything. Its just different POV's of them thinking about each other the entire time. Which you would honestly think would make it so easy for us to know what they LOOK LIKE, but no, somehow it doesn't.

None of us have ever been with a female. You get your mate, and she is your universe, and that's that for life.

Don't let the cover put you off from this insta-love sci-fi reverse harem romance. Maisy is bought by lion-like alien brothers thinking she's basically a dog, then they get a shock when they realise she's not like a pet at all - she's a human! You can't help but like Tark's lovable nature, be affected by Abner the mediator and purr at Pate's dominant qualities.

I enjoyed seeing the language barrier being overcome Then Maisy says something that the computer translates as “Holes mating excrement” but not a fan of the way Maisy was embarrassed about her period?! *face palm* She's a grown woman who's been having a period for years, why would she be embarrassed about explaining her body's natural biology to aliens who've never encountered periods before, especially when she's already discussed things from their biology like heat and having two dicks - which would have been nice to see that appendage get better action...

The ending was left on a cliffhanger but I didn't feel like it was a part of their story, would have liked to see their story not be left hanging.

3.5 stars honestly. I was intrigued the whole time even with the issues. It's not 4 or 5 because I'm not raving about it to everyone.

I enjoyed the premise and the characters in this book.
The writing could’ve been better, just some repetitive phrases. Maisy releases a lot of breaths she didn’t know she was holding.
There are some inconsistencies with the spice, like they can’t kiss her lips but can suck her nipples/eat her out but honestly that’s easy for me to overlook. It’s not important to me. They each have two peens. Obvi a fan of that too. Overall I enjoyed the spice.

I like the descriptions of their ears and tails expressing how they feel. Love that about tails.

The story was good until it ended. The ending was weird and fell flat. It just kinda ended. I was clicking expecting there to be another page.
I believe it’s setting up for the next book but it seems unnecessary to leave Maisy/her mates story unfinished. I don’t regret reading it though.

Enjoyed it but....

I enjoyed the story a lot. The writing is excellent. The sex is hot. The formatting is the biggest distraction. It would be a much better read if I could easily see where the paragraphs began and ended. It did distract from enjoying the story. Still I give it 4.6

What do I remember the most about this story?
Cat aliens with 2 dicks.
3 male cat aliens with 6 dicks.
1 human woman, with 1 vagina.
That's all I got...
I finished this book, but I dont really want to read the next. Maybe one day I will, but not today.
High 2's and low 3 star rating. Listed in my "meh" goodreads list.

High 1/ low 2 stars.

This was easily one of the worst books I have ever read. I had thought that the premise was interesting, but so much of the execution missed the mark.

I don't want to attribute this poor writing to the fact that a man wrote this book from a predominantly female point of view (because I know that there are male authors who've written exceptional novels from a female POV) , but I do think it could have exacerbated some of the issues in the writing. There were of course overarching issuses like Matthews demonstrating a startling lack of interest in any emotional depth in this work, but even if we're only to speak about smaller issues that arose, there were narrative inconsistencies that should not have been an issue. An author should never have the heroine start her menstrual cycle, then immediately forget about it like a day later because it isn't convenient to the way he wants to write the love scene. Something like this could've been fixed with editor intervention, but several instances of grammatical and syntactical issues suggested that an editor had been largely absent from this work's production.

Almost all of the conversations and situations are written in an incredibly dry and shallow way, further, all emotional situations lack any depth whatsoever in both the expression of the emotion and in the reason behind it. Any trauma is almost immediately dismissed, and the female protagonist is immediately unlikable because she's also party to it. The second she meets another female character she dismisses that girl's trauma almost out of hand. I'd held some hope that Matthews might show some depth in the female friendship between Maisy and Poppy, if only due to their similar circumstances and shared trauma...but of course this novel failed the Bechdel test.

The love scenes also leave a lot to be desired because they're just as dry and shallow as everything else. The heroine doesn't come from a culture that largely supports polyamory, and yet it takes her all of 2 seconds to get onboard with a relationship with these 3 brothers (so she doesn'tbat an eye at incest either), and the way that she gets that decision across to them is not with any sort of in depth conversation-- it's with a hand on their genitals. And she repeats this with all of them, which is both abrupt and incredibly disappointing if you were looking for some sort of fulfilling sexual experience-- because that means that the first three love scenes have virtually no foreplay for her. The author just snaps his fingers and she's dripping wet. End of story, I guess. So long story short, it's a lot of telling not showing, and the series of events is so abrupt that even when Matthews does show us something we have no investment in it.

The major conflict also came across as incredibly contrived. the male love interests' mother arranges for them to meet with some randomly higher-up woman who is distantly in line for the throne. And in the same breath says that she also wants to meet the alien her sons have said they've mated. For one thing, who thought that having these 2 meetings occur at the same time would be a good idea? Also, if your sons said "no", why is this even happening? On top of that, when we do have the meeting, why is the other woman being deliberately antagonistic to the heroine when there is ostensibly nothing for her to gain out of this besides the men, and she's made it very clear to the men in question that she doesn't want them? So an asinine situation evolves to become some grand conspiracy of racism against humans to demonize them as dangerous. For what though? Where would this level of planning and vitriol have come from - worse, from a species that sees itself as evolved - when you didn't know, humans existed 2 days ago? Make it make sense.

I've read a lot of books that have made me more angry than this one, and I suppose it is a credit to this novel that I was even able to finish it, but it would have been difficult for Matthews to have disappointed me more than he did with this execution. And I have no desire to read anything else from him.

I prefer not to read without recommendations but I liked the blurb of this one and then just kept reading the other 3 books.
I found a few minor typos and send a note in my kindle I hope this helps.
I was pleasantly surprised by the flow of the story, the aliens are quite alien, green slimy flabs, then we have the tiger-cat aliens, that are both sexy and animal-like, they also feature some really fun differences as in two tails which bases are erogenous zones and take note - they have 2 penises as their women have to vaginas. The female character is adaptive, brave and kind of quickly gets over the fact that she has lost her family and friends.
The sex scenes were adequate and gave me satisfaction to read them.
The featured abuse and scheming were also good, they reminded me of the books from Kaitlyn O'Connor as they were harsh but objective.
The flow is nice. But some sexual descriptions sure irked me - during a penetration - there is an audible pop? The vagina is not a bottle of champagne, there is no pop at any point unless some air gets into the vagina and then you hear more like farting noises. The pop - was used for both vaginal, anal penetration and for taking virginity. I was rolling my eyes way too much reading those.
Then the size difference - great males - very tall, that means during a sex scene where they are standing up and use the wall, the female's head reaches his pecks, then in what universe he'd be able to continue to penetrate her and bend like a snake to suck her nipples? I would recommend for every author out there - use dolls and work out positions.

All told a decent, low-angst alien romance. Decent writing, few typos.

Heroine is abducted and sold as a pet to a set of three brothers; the book skips the abduction part and skips to one of them picking her up. The "they think she's a pet" part barely lasts ten pages; after that it neatly diverges into learning how to communicate and forming a relationship. Heroine isn't hysterical or conflicted over her new life in space and/or relationship with three non-human aliens. This is a relief as this is often done poorly in similar books, but also feels a bit too neat - surely a little bit of additional internal dithering would be realistic. The three love interests are also fairly quick to get over any conflicted feelings about mating with someone outside their species, or the mentioned inability to have children.

Heroine gets with all three brothers by about halfway through the book. The end of the book is a bit of a cliffhanger as to the status of humans as a species in the galaxy, and felt like a bit of a weird place to end it - it felt like there should have been at least one more short chapter to put a bow on the storyline of this relationship.

Sequels are clearly flagged, but to be honest there wasn't enough cool alien world building in here to keep me going to the next one.

I liked the story and the characters.
Maisy was a very open-minded heroine, she got over the shock of being abducted by aliens and sold to the three huge kitties very quickly (maybe a bit too quickly to be honest). The youngest of the three aliens, Trak, bought her from a space pet store and was told that it was a rather intelligent animal. After she woke up on their ship he and his older brother Abner very quickly suspected that she was a sentient being and not a pet at all. The two brothers worked hard on making her comfortable and communicating with her, liking her from the beginning. The third of the lion-tiger brothers, the eldest Pate, was a bit of a dick. He actively avoided Maisy then when he couldn't deny his attraction to her he pounced on her in the hallway. Thankfully she enjoyed his attentions and he didn't do much more than lick her neck, so we didn't have to read an assault scene ;)
It felt a bit rushed with how fast she decided to pursue them. Who would do that after a few days knowing that their kind mate for life? That was unbelievable.
The ending was so abrupt, there was clearly some weird conspiracy going on and it just cut off without any resolution. I'm used to epilogues in romance novels giving at least a happy for now ending and here we had stressed, scared and suspicious, but with her three mates.

Pretty good

This book was pretty good. I really liked the alien-ness of their brothers. It was a fairly fast paced story I personally could have done with a little more lingering and digging into all the details. It is also told from all three of the brothers & Maisy's POV. The povs change at good moments; and much like my personal preference is digging into details I prefer one real main pov and am ok with occasional other povs this one changes povs a lot. And while it's not bad and doesn't detract from the story in any way because that is mainly personal preference. The brothers are each different and we'll developed and Maisy is resilient. There are quite a few creative hot times. And I would label this why choose\reverse harem because there are more than 2 love interest and as a group more than three. And while I would consider this reverse harem It is centered around the female. As far as an HEA goes its has a happy -ish ending but It is a little bit of a cliffhanger filled with some upset & mystery. It is a well written story and a great first book in the series. There are so many things left to discover and find out and I can't wait to see how this world and it's characters develop.

Overall a pretty entertaining story. Maisy and the guys get together pretty quickly, but that's what everyone is here for so I can't really complain (and not that I really minded). The word-building is pretty lacking, but I wasn't expecting much in that area. The lack of it is slightly bothersome, though, since some information is tossed at Maisy/the reader without much explanation and could be frustrating to some people.

There are some grammatical errors throughout the book, but not a horrible amount in my opinion. Some people will find it annoying, but I'm pretty forgiving of this stuff in self-published works, especially in smutty ones.

And can I just say WHAT was that ending??? I want to know more and the way it's set up, it's as if Maisy and the brothers are somehow going to be the ones doing something about it, but the next book isn't about them! I'm not sure how we're going to get more information about that situation in a companion book, but it sure makes me want to read more.

I really do not understand the low ratings. Is it because it’s a reverse harem? Can’t be that, because I’ve read plenty that were horrible and received higher marks....and I mean HORRIBLE! Is it because there’s an underlying story that requires you to continue with the series? Can’t be that, because the main story of the romance is complete. They have their HEA but with some open questions remaining. That makes it a suspense as well as alien romance. More bang for your buck I say. Can’t be because there are grammatical errors because they are consistent making it clear that the author is not a native English speaker and, hey, these are indie authors so live and learn.

I loved this book and think i’s an awesome beginning to a series. I do agree that the cover is rather bland but somehow I think the typical photo enhanced male alien with muscles akimbo wouldn’t work with this series. I also agree that it’s hard to visualize some of the scenes anatomically, if you get my drift, but all-in-all, I can’t wait to read the rest of the series! Well done.

This is one of those instances where you should NOT judge a book by it's cover. Because this whole series has garbage for covers. S.M.--lemme' know if you want to change that. This illustrator has some ideas.

But anywho. Fabulously revolving book series. Bad news: they all have cliffhangers, EXCEPT the last one. But they only have two hundred pages max, so you can't be mad really, because the author just wants to spread the love to as many unions as possible within a small time window.

There are grammatical errors, and a couple consistency issues from the overarching plot--but overall these are all really, really well done. Especially with the underwhelming covers, gotta' say.

The thing I liked the best? The women featured in these books are ALL SO DIFFERENT. For real. So many personality types and attitudes. It's outstanding. No carbon-copy heroine here, and I LOVED that. I can't wait to see what Matthews produces next in the series, these really hit that 'unique jive' for me.

Highly
recommend.

This book was clearly written by a man and I was thinking about it long before seeing S.M. Matthews is, in fact, a male writer.
The sex scenes were crude and a little off putting. There were 3 males but the only time there was a semblance of foreplay to help the h was at the last sex scene at ~85%. The males had 2 c*cks for no reason at all (maybe just to compensate someone's lyric self?).
I hated the older brother (Pate, if I'm not mistaken) and couldn't understand why the h would even consider having a relationship with someone who is clearly just looking to f*ck and leave. Not one time he tried to carry a conversation with her. Also, he's first sex scene made me sick, for me the way he conducted himself was rape-y.
The world building and characterizations were lacking.
Plot got a little boring.
So many typos.
Honestly thinked about DNFing at ~88% because I realized I couldn't care less how the book ended.
Definitely won't try the next installment.

I didn't think I'd ever come across an incomplete novel that wasn't from an online platform like Wattpad or AO3. The book ends very abruptly and while you can see what the premise for the rest of the series may be, there was no closure for the first installment. It would have been okay to have a cliffhanger if the story was going to continue with the current characters but true to the niche genre that's not going to be the case as it follows other pairings.

Also, there were random chapters that were only a few paragraphs long if so many which made the reading very choppy. I can see that it was a matter of a quick insight into someone else's perspective but it didn't feel necessary.

It's a good story, it just needed an editor to keep things in order.

Also, I struggled to picture the princess as anything other than bougie Angela who cast Tom aside. I'm so sorry

-1 star for the unnecessary cliff hanger
-1 star for the choppy experience

DNF

The mfc took about 2 days before deciding she's totally fine with being abducted by aliens & "with" 3 males. I didn't mind this too much even though it was a superficial immature read. I was willing to tolerate it - until about halfway in - another brother pack has a human abductee & it's a teenager. Our lovely leading lady (while friendly to this CHILD) is judging the poor girl as "petulant teenager" because she's understandably flipping the f#@k out. That was it for me... big o' nope. So the next book is about 3 adult cat men with a total of 6 d!@ks & 1 young girl & what our "heroine" is a human slavery trainer/conditioner? I'm gonna pass. Apparently I have limits on what I find entertaining.

Fell in Love With this series. Giant sweet protective cuddly Aliens. Who love and care for their mates. I’m on board. This story has a good flow and it’s full of cute funny and quirky Moments. Romantic scenes are well done. Characters are interesting and funny. I like that it’s told from all of their perspectives. It’s a reverse harem style story When it comes to the steamier parts but its done in a unique way that makes the characters relatable. There is also this interesting underlying plot that gets revealed further in each book. Looking forward to more from this Author on this series.

I enjoyed this, but wish it was more complex.

The book starts off with Maisy being bought as a pet after being kidnapped from earth. The space brothers (who resemble cats) quickly realize Maisy is intelligent and go about trying to find a way to communicate. This is where the pacing is extremely off. One moment they're thinking she's a pet the next they are considering mating her. These pacing gaps happen a few times in the book and left me scratching my head looking for logical connections. That being said, the book was surface level enjoyable. The book ends with a setup and a mystery... Maybe in the next book more details will be given.
