The Secret of Chimneys precedes (The 7 Dials which takes place 4 years later.) I was nearly driven to distraction with the immaturity of the young people, but I guess that old time people grew up more slowly. In the end, this mystery redeemed itself with the ending making it as good its predecessor, though I had my doubts as I was reading most of it!

3.5 stars. I liked The Seven Dials Mystery more than Chimneys. Although, many of the characters were annoying but some grew on me. Hugh Frazier always does a great narration. Glad to have read both before the film adaptation comes out. As always a 3.5 for Christie is well above other 3.5 ratings.

Secret of Chimneys:
This is a such fun mystery! Even with dead bodies, it almost feels like a comedic cozy mystery. By the end you know what is going to happen, but you want to hear the characters say it for themselves. The narrator, Charles Armstrong, was perfect!

Seven Dials Mystery:
This was a nce mystery. I would probably have enjoyed it more if I had not already listened to The Secret of Chimneys. Some of the characters had personality changes, and it just wasn't as fun. Still it was an enjoyable listen. The narrator was very nice.
