Being responsible for the survival of someone you loathe really dwindles all hope for a fresh start.
Kelsey Young is ready to leave Rockdale--and the darkest parts of her life--in the past. After barely escaping the massacre of her foster family and taking down the evil behind The Experiment, she wants nothing more than to relocate and start over.
That is, until the fae leaders offer a reward too good to refuse, derailing her plans in the process. Kelsey agrees to put her future on hold to protect an arrogant creature with far too much charisma for his--or her--own good.
While she's no stranger to the rumors of Jackson Hawthorne, she is new to his charm. And soon, she finds it nearly impossible to resist--especially when he makes no effort to hide his blatant desire for her.
Tensions run high as Jackson's well-being is threatened by angry fae and humans alike with a mission to destroy his business--and him.
But temptations run even higher after Kelsey swears to safeguard his life--even on the days she wants to kill him herself. And what about his heart--or hers? When they find common ground in new territory, lines blur, defenses crumble, and devotion begins to outweigh duty.

The fourth installment of the Twisted series, Twisted Devotion takes us back to Jessi Elliot’s world of witty and snarky and bantering characters, both human and fae alike. I was excited to jump back into these characters and their great dynamic, along with some steamy action and a gripping urban fantasy plot that ties everything well. While it starts slow and seems to be missing a bit of the that spark the previous installments have, it’s a worthy addition to the series.
Twisted Devotion takes place several months after Twisted Desire and follows Kelsey Young, a fae who is still adjusting to the post-Desire life and wants out of Rockdale and to start over. However, she finds those plans postponed when she has to be a bodyguard to Jackson Hawthorne. While it took me a few chapters to get into the plot line, by the time we get to the 1/3rd mark, I was engaged and the back half of the novel had my attention that I basically read that section in one sitting with all types of twists and turns. As always, there’s a romance plot, with Kelsey begrudgingly protecting Jackson, but trying to keep her heart guarded, as well as dealing with her tragic past. There’s also an urban fantasy plot, but it’s mostly backseat until the tail end of the story, which is likely why I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the others. As a bit of a warning, read the other books first, otherwise you’ll be lost. But it rewards you so much if you read the other books with all the callbacks to events in the rest of the series.
As for the characters, what’s not to love? It did take me a tiny bit of time to really come back to them, but once they did, I remember all of the banter, the chemistry, the wit, it’s nearly perfect, with lots of comeback lines. Jackson is classic with his charming personality, despite the outer image of being a selfish jerk, and really has a deep character. Kelsey is great as well, as she’s trying to decide her future, dealing with her tragic past, and is put through the emotional ringer as things change quickly for her, but is fierce and fiery and fights through it. And their relationship is a bit different than Tristan and Aurora, but something I like, especially as it grows throughout. I love the other characters, new and old as well, along with how the world is changing by and around them at the same time, and you appreciate the growth that they go through and go through a flurry of emotions for them.
If you enjoyed the rest of the Twisted series, don’t wait to read this one!
I loved that we got more of this series and characters because it’s such a great storyline it kept me entertained from beginning to end. The war between human and fae has come to an end, but it has left some fae confused and wanting to leave their city or world behind to escape the bad memories, especially Kelsey. Kelsey is a fierce, protective, and loyal fae to her friends she considers family. She has trained with the best, fought against the worse, is looking to escape, but she has one more assignment she has to get through first. I loved that even though her past haunts her and she is dying to leave her loyalty keeps her from leaving without helping her friends first, so she swallows her pride and goes to protect Jackson Hawthorne. What can I say about Jax? Well he is extremely charming, funny, caring, and charismatic. I loved him instantly when we met him before but his personality really takes the spotlight in this book and we see that under his funny attitude is a guy that cares about every other human or fae. I loved these two together because Jax’s charm and Kelsey’s fierceness balance each other out. The story has many twists and turns that keep you glued to your seat wanting to know more. Also, getting to see other characters from previous books was so much fun and I loved it all. This author knows how to create a world that makes the reader entranced in with twists, humor, and steam.
It was really nice to return to Rockdale and the cast of the Twisted series while getting a whole new level of understanding for a few of the side characters from other books.
While the war between the human and the Fae is over and The Experiment has been ended, there is still a lot of healing and settling to be done in the Fae world. And with the science that the humans have created that allow a Fae to be turned human, there’s a world of possibility left open to Fae who may not want to live for eternity.
Lucky for them Jackson Hawthorne is ensuring that those who might want to become human again have that choice should they want to take it – after being told the full extent of the risks that come with the procedure. But even knowing full well how things might fall, that a Fae might not survive turning human, surviving family members don’t stop from threatening him and his life in the face of their loss.
Which is why Kelsey Young is tasked with keeping him safe. Offered substantial compensation to keep Jackson alive as his personal bodyguard, Kelsey puts her plans to leave Rockdale in the rearview on hold to protect the arrogantly charismatic entrepreneur.
The ups and downs as Kelsey and Jackson spend several months together throughout the book keep the book moving. We learn a lot more about Kelsey’s past, how that has affected her now and why she really just can’t stay in Rockdale. And the budding romance between Jackson and Kelsey is a sweet contrast to the heat that they have between each other fro the moment he greets her at the door of his rather large home.
While this book focused on Kelsey and Jackson, it was great to be able to see the cast from the first three books weaved throughout to not just bring more life to this wonderful world that Jessi’s created, but also give us sneak peeks as to how they’re doing without taking over the story to do so. The world lives, breaths, and is this magically vibrant place that I would love to visit whenever Jessi wants to invite us back to it. The characters are just as strong developmentally as they were in the last three books, and my heart is all the warmer for reading Kelsey and Jackson’s journey.
Disclaimer: I did receive an arc of the book in exchange for my honest, unbiased opinion. All thoughts are my own and were not colored by receiving the arc.
I have to be honest, I didn't really remember Kelsey in the previous installments and I barely remembered Jackson but it's been awhile since I've read those books. However, I grew to like and care about these characters the more I read about them.
I enjoyed how the author wove the previous main characters of the series into this book and we got a glimpse of how life is for them afterwards while still focusing on Kelsey and Jax. That was nicely written. Most times, I find that readers barely see those characters again or get like a scene with them and that's it.
The pacing, store, and romance all flowed seamlessly together. As in the previous books, I had no trouble flying through the pages. The writing is clear and I always enjoy the banter between the leads. As my personal preference, I liked this book more than the 3rd in the series but I preferred the 1st and 2nd book more but this is still a good sequel and would recommend picking it up if you enjoyed the series so far.
The one thing that bothered me was that Kelsey was hired as a body guard but I thought there would be more of a need for her to protect Jax. We get only one instance. To be honest, it seemed like Kelsey needed more protection (even though she could take care of herself) than Jax as her past seemed to find her. She seemed to be in more danger than him which kind of made me laugh as I kept waiting for him to get himself in danger.
The conclusion was predictable for me but I liked it all the same. The end felt abrupt to me. I would have liked a little more detail at the end of what happened to the characters and what they decided to do or where to go at the end. Overall, a nice, enjoyable read and you should pick it up if you like contemporary romance with a side of paranormal.
3.5 out of 5 for me!

Just when I thought that Jessi couldn't amp up the love interests of Rockdale, she does it again. Now I have to choose between all three of them, but don't tell the others that Jackson is top on my list now. The Twisted series has to be one of my favorites of all time, and I am so glad that we continue to get more from all of the characters and learn about new ones along the way!
Kelsey, as narrator in this book, was so much fun to read. She is spunky and kick ass while also having a softer side to her. While Jackson is that classic charming and cocky guy, you know we all love to swoon over. Their playful banter made for loads of fun in this book. These two made me bust out, laughing at their comments, which made the entire book fun to read. Also, the plot of this novel kept me glued to the edge of my seat, and I couldn't put it down!
If you enjoyed the previous novels in the Twisted series, I would highly recommend this novel because it just adds a whole other layer to this fantastic series!
Jessi’s style has changed quite from the first book in the series, Twisted Fate. Her writing is more detailed and full of explicit hot scenes. Loved the characters and the plot.
The only down side for me that some scenes reminded me of 50 shades of grey and I don’t really like that book, I prefer equality in all areas of life especially in romantic relationships.
Nonetheless I think this book is amazing, I recommend it for everyone who loves reading hot scenes full of enjoyment and sensuality.
This story follows Kelsey as she takes on an assignment to protect Jackson Hawthorn, an arrogant dude with lots of charm. Humans and fae are on a mission to destroy him and his new business. I enjoy their journey and banter. It also has some steamy scenes. Jessi is awesome at creating snarky, witty, lovable characters.
It was a fun read and I would recommend to anyone who loves a steamy romance mixed with action.
I guess I should have stopped after the first two. I loved how this series started out, I loved the story of Tristan and Aurora and the battle between dark and light and everything about his face world but these last two books seem forced. It’s an easy read, but really I only worked through it so that I could complete the series. I can only read the phrase “you will be my undoing” so much before it gets old.
I've been in a reading slump for way too long and this book fixed that problem easily! There's a lot of love about this book, including the fact that things got a little more explicit, but I also loved that Kelsey was able to have not one, but two guy friends outside of the love interest without the story turning into a love triangle.
This book makes me want to re-read the rest in the series, and more onto Jessi's other books that are still on my TBR!
Twisted Devotion is amazing! I loved reading about Kelsey and Jackson. There were a few twists that I didn't see coming as well. I didn't want to stop reading it.
This fourth book swept me back into the Twisted world and made me miss all the characters all over again. I didn't want the story to end! Kelsey and Jackson are characters with depth and heart, along with witty banter and playful actions. And who can forget the steamy romance?! ;) The cameos of past characters was a delight and the easily digestible plot makes this a great addition to the Twisted collection. I devoured this book and enjoyed it so much that I wished it were longer so I could stay in this world a bit more. <3
Another Fantastic Addition to the Twisted World! Full RTC! This story picks up after the war from the last three books! I love the Twisted Fae Series!! This is another wonderful addition to the series! Kelsey and Jackso!! Also, I am so happy that Jessi SPICED this series up!! YES!
I’d like to thank Enticing Journey and Jessi Elliot for sending me an e-arc it is very much appreciated. So I loved Twisted Fate, Twisted Gift and Twisted Desire I loved all of them so I was very much expecting high expectations went it came to this book and it didn’t let down.
We met Jackson in Twisted Desire and all he wanted in reward for helping with the war and providing people, all he wanted was one of the clinics to keep so he can turn fae that went to be human. It has a lot of controversary surrounding him keeping a clinic so much so he has to have round the clock protection from the death threats. Jackson was hella charming.
Kelsey is the person chosen to guard Jackson, we see her very torn and wanting to escape for some time away, afterall she had a lot of trauma and she’s only been a fae for a limited time after Tristan saved her. I really liked Kelsey she was great! Kelsey really made me laugh a few times through this book she was hilarious.
So we start this book with learning that Tristan and Aurora had a little baby whilst they were gone and he is the cutest thing and I love the idea that they get their happy ever after with them and a baby and it’s so cute!
Jackson finds a way to annoy everyone in this book and he certainly knows how to press other people’s buttons and honestly it makes me chuckle so much.
So Jessi definetely stepped herself up in terms of her writing game especially when it comes to the sex scenes in this book because it was hot. There is a particular scene where Kelsey and Jackson are in seperate bedrooms and are masterbating to the sound of each other and honestly it was written so good!
Kelsey and Jackson were really cute together and honestly they made the cutest of couples and I loved the challenge that they set with each other. I love it when characters make a challenge with each other that you know they are both going to fail especially when the bet is if Kelsey is going to give in and have sex with Jackson.
I felt so bad hearing Kelsey talk to Jackson about her foster family and having them all murdered and then her being on her own and then waking up fae. Hearing her say it was so tragic and my heart broke for her that little bit more.
Jackson is great at seducing people, like the man is a bloody god. Even I would be okay being seduced by that man. Jessi is a great writer especially when it’s comes to sex scenes.
So we discover that Seth Kelsey’s friend and the person she walked with in book 3 is using Jackson’s services and actually wants to become human. This was such a hard istuation Kelsey wanted him to be safe but wasn’t sure how to support him knowing the risks that come with trying to be human. I really liked their friendship and that eventually she learnt to accept that he wanted to be human and helped him recover from the process.
When Kelsey discovered her foster brother was murdered my heart broke for her, the pain she felt I just wanted to give her a hug and hold her very tightly.
I loved this book, I love Kelsey and Jackson they were very cute together and I loved the ending that he was willing to give up everything to be with her. I think these two could possibly have taken over my favourite couple from the series. They were adorable.
