I have relentlessly read my way through the Kindle Unlimited library. I came to this respected magazine by a recommendation from a friend. Unfortunately there was quite a bit I glossed over because it didn't interest me. My loss.

Alpdruck! by Michael Reyes - Urban setting. Paranormal fiction. Half way through I jumped ship.

Pour Down Like Silver, by Cynthia Ward - Interesting and driven character. Just when I was buckled in and ready for the finish, the story ends. Hmm.

Lest Darkness Wreck the Stars, by Robert Zoltan - Down on their luck adventurers discover a treasure that may be worth the fate of the world. I dug this duo.

The Golden Pearl, by Jim Breyfogle - Two adventurers search for the fabled Golden Pearl. The island aborigines are cut throat, self serving bunch. Didn't finish, next please.

Slave Girls for Sacrifice, by D.M. Ritzlin - Avok is back! Although trouble has found him again. Using his brain, rather than his brawn. Enjoyable S&S story.

Praying to Thasaidon, by Tais Teng - A very short piece concerning a Necromancer, debts, and the revenge of an angry woman. Quite a bit of fun.

Adeste, Fideles, by G. Scott Huggins - Did not read.

Return of the Dark Brotherhood, by Adrian Cole - A new Dream Lords story. The Dream Lords trilogy really wasn't one of my favorites when I read them many years ago. I read about half of this one and gave it up for DNF.

Outside the Outside?, by J. Comer - I don't tabletop game.

My Name is John Carter (Part 8), by James Hutchings - Never read the first seven, so didn't read the eighth either.

The majority of the content didn't appeal to me, and some of it I never gave a fair shot to. Maybe next time.

The lesson of this issue was "pay more attention to Tais Teng", a lesson made difficult by the dearth of English translations. "Praying to Thasaidon" is excellent, Vance-adjacent but a lot more of the morbidity of Zothique.

The variety on display makes me think that if you are into the _Sword and Sorceress_ style "Pour Down Like Silver", then you probably are not going to like the 80s-low-budget-movie-and-wizard-van-art "Slave Girls for Sacrifice", and vice versa. But that's what you get with Cirsova: a poetic rendition of _A Princess of Mars_ coupled with the continuation of the Dream Lords series and an overview essay about fringe joke gimmick role playing games analyzed more than they deserve.

Retro pulp.

Retro pulp short stories of high quality. Some of the authors included stories from a series and these are not always stand alone novels, the last story was a little bit difficult to wade through?
