Back in the saddle, again.
Yee-Haw! Carr writes some lovely, smexilicious fun times. And yummy, breaking the fast with two colleagues who are hot and young studs. Tasty with a spicy threesome, and good feelings all round, even the unexpected assist in the DP department ;) Way to play nice, boys.

This was a good story but didn’t live up to my expectations. It had a great premise and the book was well edited.
The characters could have come across as real, but they didn’t; it was more soap opera than I prefer. And maybe I’m a bit impatient with wholly competent 40 somethings that can’t make up their minds/don’t know what they want, when it comes to relationships.
I also thought the BDSM parts of the book were handled pretty casually considering the woman involved was a BDSM virgin.
I’m not sure I’ll pursue any further books by this author - the writing seemed somewhat superficial to me. I will say that the threesome night was a flash of very good writing.

Quick read, scenes of MFM, but the happy couple get their HEA. The characters were all likeable, storyline ok, just a bit on the short side to really get engrossed.

Jamie, Trey, and Grace are all teachers at the same high school. On Fridays, they like to get together at the local bar for happy hour. It's April....almost graduation....and they're all about to go crazy. If it wasn't for their Friday night get-togethers, they all probably would.
Grace is 40 and has been single for quite a while. Her husband died in a car accident, leaving her alone with their young daughter who is now about to graduate from high school. Grace has devoted her life to raising her daughter and now that she’s about to be faced with living alone for the first time in her life, she realizes how much she’s missed out on. With the encouragement of her BFF (and fellow teacher) Cheryl, Grace is determined to make this happy hour a different one. She’s going to cut loose and allow herself to be that person she’s always held back from being. And Jamie and Trey both pick up on her new attitude on life. Jamie, who is secretly (or really, not so secretly...according to his friends) is in love with Grace. And he has been for a while, but he’s never bothered to act on it. He’s about 8 years younger than Grace, is Grace’s daughter’s softball coach, oh, and he also suffered a devastating loss of love when his fiance walked out on him. Needless to say, these two crazy kids have a lot stacked against them.
So, what will it take to get Grace and Jamie together? A little good, old fashioned jealousy. Trey, fellow coach at the school and best friend of Jamie, tries out a little bump-and-grind dancing with Grace and Jamie doesn’t seem to like it one bit. Then Trey admits that he did it only to put a boot to Jamie’s ass to get him to ask her out. What Trey didn’t count on was that he would genuinely get the hots for Grace. Although Jamie isn’t too keen on sharing a woman, Trey assures him that it would only be for one night. He basically just wants to tap that and move on. Trey knows that Jamie and Grace are meant for each other, but he thinks she needs to sow some wild oats before she settles down with Jamie. (Mind you - Jamie has yet to ask Grace out....so he’s making a lot of assumptions. But apparently anyone with eyes in their head can see the chemistry and affection between Jamie and Grace.)
While Jamie is initially hesitant to proposition Grace with their menage scheme, he soon realizes that his raging hard-on for the hot English teacher trumps any fears he might have about her saying no. And of course, Grace doesn’t say no.
The trio leaves the bar and heads to Jamie’s house for some, you guessed it, smoking hot-for-teacher sex. The thing I love most about Mari Carr’s books is her ability to write consistently hot sex scenes. Even if I don’t care for the characters, the sex is always super hot. Luckily for me.....I did love the characters in the book. So much. While Grace and Trey are obviously hot for each other, it’s also obvious that Grace and Jamie are meant to be together.
Menage stories are sometimes hit or miss for me. I loved this one because it didn’t aspire to be a “let’s live this threesome alternative lifestyle” type of story. No. It was just three people, having smoking hot three-way sex and then going about their normal lives. No trying to buck society’s norms. No, it was just some one night only naughty sexytimes. And it worked. So well. Jamie seemed just like the kind of guy you’d want to take home to meet your parents. You know, as long as no one brings up the threesome with his best friend over the get-to-know-you dinner.

This one was a really great read about an over 40 widowed woman coming back to herself after years of being alone. Her daughter's upcoming graduation and the realization that she will be alone prompt her to move on with some careful prodding from her friend. Jamie has had it bad for Gracie for years, but he also knew she just wasn't ready yet for what he wanted. He notices a change in her one night when out after work with all their friends, and is pushed into action by the possibility she could turn to someone else. Gracie ends up with a night straight from her wildest fantasies, and what she has always secretly wanted... Jamie. :)

I've read other books by Mari Carr and enjoyed them, and I wanted a quick sexy fun romp/not "~throwaway" read but ... you know.
Like an afternoon fluff cotton candy read.
And it had a lot of promise but ... ugh. The heroine just read as TSTL like "tee hee I'm so dumb" but ... not that exactly but ugh.
And the "oh I no know nothing and I'm just pathetic and read romance novels"
Also >.> I GET the set up but just like ... I dunno - that the Black guy (who only listens to rap and only "dances" with "hip thrusting" 😒) is the one who fucks and runs but it's the white guy who sticks around ...
I've also been in a super foul mood - and I picked up reading after 3 AM [started in the afternoon with a big break]
So ... I get to them at the house and about to start - but just the descriptions of the bar, the dancing, the rando stripper girl ...
Just some [a lot] of the stereotypes were 😒

Educating Ms. Wright is a fun contemporary romance by Mari Carr. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. It is a M/F/M menage though, so it may not be for everyone.

Happy Hour was a fun entertaining read regarding a group of teachers that would get togethr from time to time to celebrate and in the process became good friends. Grace hasn't dated in years because she was busy raising her daughter after her husband passed away. She and Jamie are skirting around each other although the attraction is there neither one wants to do anything about it until Trey starts flirting with her. It is an enjoyable fun read.

I like to mix up the types of books I read but this was something quite different. Wow was it steamy! I can see why erotica romance can be exciting. The story itself was very basic with very little complexity as the main intention was to the characters in bed with each other. I think it's good to read something that's not you normal read.

A heartfelt afternoon read…
I love the older woman/younger man trope and Jamie at 31 is mature for a guy. The added spice of a one night ménage ramps this sweet falling in love story to erotic. And a wonderful little story.
