What do you do when your planet runs out of women? Send for takeout, of course.
Kash knows he’ll never be allowed to claim a mate. A lifetime of military service has left him too battle-scarred and broken to be considered for the off-world mating project his rulers have created to save their people.
His job is to make sure the more fortunate males get to Earth to retrieve their mates. All he has to do is pilot the ship, stay undetected, and keep an eye on things from orbit. It should be the easiest mission of his career…until he lays eyes on the one thing he never expected to find. His mate.
This book contains a hopeful romantic who is giving up hope, and a soldier who is about to discover that love doesn’t obey orders, and it can’t be bound by rules.
Susan lives out on the Canadian west coast surrounded by open water, dear family and good friends. She’s jumped out of perfectly good airplanes on purpose and accidentally swum with sharks on the Great Barrier Reef. If the world ends, she plans to survive as the spunky, comedic sidekick to the heroes of the new world, because she’s too damned short and out of shape to make it on her own for long.
Writing is her joy, her escape from reality and the only way she knows of to quiet the nagging harridan of a muse the universe assigned to her.

Both MCs have some insecurities and don't think they deserve a mate. Kash is a battle-scarred older warrior and Gwen is curvy and has already been rejected from the dating service because of her age.
Thankfully, they are able to finally see eye to eye and the remaining of the human three is mated.
I liked the epilogue and sets the stage for more Earth women meeting their perfect matches.
Kash is probably my fave of the trio Susan Hayes brought to the table for the Intergalactic Dating Agency, if I'm gonna be honest. I love characters who sport scars and have what feels like realistic relationships with them (even when they're bearded alien soldiers capable of bench-pressing small starships).
So, this third visit with the Pyrosians picks up more or less where the last two left things: the ship that brought an alien prince and an alien high-powered business magnate to come score potential mates is in the hands of the head of security, an alien former soldier (and somewhat scarred and dented) named Kash.
He's given up on having a mate—in a world where women are outnumbered seven-to-one by males, his imperfections knock him so far down the bottom of the list that he's just being practical. And he's very by-the-book and practical. And organized. And very bound by duty.
Which is why breaking the rules—and his orders—to go make sure a friend of the two women the aforementioned prince and magnate are mating with doesn't call the police and create a scene is a hard choice. But he goes. And he meets curvy and bookwormish Gwen and...
Zap. The spark. The spark that means they're fated to be mates. The spark that starts off 'the Scorching' (an undeniable mating urge).
Totally not a part of the plan, or his orders, or the mission.
Hayes's awesome humour is on display, the characters are both vulnerable and anxious in their own ways (I really dug that), and I loved—absolutely loved—Gwen's progression through the short novella. There's a tonne of growth and revelation to Gwen in the space of this short time. So much love for Gwen. (I may be biased towards bookworms.)
These first three Star-Crossed books have really been getting me through some rough days, and I'm gonna go grab the next three. They're as fun-and-comforting as the cookies and brownies Gwen bakes.
I highly enjoyed this writing style. It was captivating, fluent and had a very strong language.
Plot wise- I don’t hate it, but I do feel with a writing talent like this, it is a shame to write such a short story. I missed depth. A missed action. I missed emotions!
I feel like this author could really get a good and believable story to life, if she just took the time to build up the characters and the emotions. She really got talent here. It was pleasant to read.
Gwen was likeable, but didn’t get a deep connection with her. Kash seemed okay as well. Nothing really fancy there.
It’s insta-love/insta-mating, so I do think it is why I don’t really believe there are genuine in their feelings, but again that is really hard to accomplish.
It was good, but I am not screaming over how amazing this one is.

Cute read. He was a commander, that thought he would never have a female of his own, and she had given up hope to ever find her hea. Both of these two were rejected for the Star-Crossed dating service, due to age. Pfft, they showed them that no matter what age, everyone deserves an hea.
This was a cute and safe read, with some heat. An epilogue and a sweet hea. Good things really do come to those who wait.
Sweet alien romance story about Kash and Gwen. Both felt that they were no longer a candidate for love and a HEA, but the Scorching (something they feel after they touch their mate) had other plans. Great read. 3.5 stars
Commander Kash Denza is in charge of the mission to have everything go smoothly to get Vadir and Joran's date since they are a match excluding himself. Nothing is going according to plan. Kash realizes that the two women are friends and live together. He checks into it and finds out that there is a third woman and that Gwen who was denied. He finally decides to go down and visit her and explain before she calls the cops. She has a totally different response than her two friends. Ends up when touch they have the spark. More true mates. Great story, action some sex and romance.
DNF at 65%. The heroine Gwen is insecure, weak and intolerable. Nothing worse than a heroine whose self esteem is lower than dirt but does nothing redeeming except mope about her lot in life. The hero Kash is the complete opposite of her; he's courageous and accomplished and if it wasn't for the Spark and Scorching, they'd have nothing in common. Modern romances need more substance than insta-love to be believable and this book doesn't deliver.
FAVORITE LITTLE SNIPPET... “Did you see that spark? It didn’t hurt, but it was so bright!” “I saw it. Very strange.” That might be the biggest understatement of his life.
I am reading this series so out of order, it's probably a crime. :) I got Tarjen for free last year and enjoyed it, but hadn't come back to read the rest yet (I have a long list, as I'm sure many of you can sympathize) and now here I am reading one book back. I really do need to go get the first two. Anyhow, that being said, I can say that it is safe to read these by themselves, but it does seem like it'd be more enjoyable to read like they were intended as the leads are friends and the first three take place essentially in tandem.
Kash is about a race of Aliens who's female population is dwindling drastically, so they've taken drastic measures and started searching for compatible races to potentially interbreed with. Turns out, they found traces of their own DNA on earth (still not sure how it happened, just guesses) so we're their out! The first three books (Joran, Vadir, and Kash) are about the very first mission to 'test' this theory. As Pyrosians can only reproduce with a very particular individual (soulmate), it really is a hope mission.
Gwen and Kash are an awesome couple. Neither one felt like they were deserving, so most of the story is watching them come to terms with the reality that that's simply not true. It was heartwarming and I really enjoyed both of them.
This book is a very quick and simple read, with the main conflict being the characters' hangups. There is lots of steam, and plenty of sweetness. Totally a feel good read!
These are novellas in the same world, pretty similar but enjoyable. In this world, the Pyrosians have less and less females born, so they look to other societies to find their mates. There is a "dating agency" that matches humans with Pyrosians. In Gwen's case, she was deemed "too old" at 35. However, Gwen lives with the previous two heroines who were chosen, so Kash comes to solve the issue of a witness that aliens are real and finds his own fated mate.
Kash is a battle hardened soldier and Gwen is an orphan and both feel they are unlikely to meet anyone and are unworthy of mates. They have a cute relationship.
These stories are pretty short, and the issues tend to get solved relatively quickly, but at least they are all more standalone than other novella series I've read. I read the first 3 because the heroines were friends but I'll keep reading to see how the series goes.
These three male order bride stories were the first of this series, I read all three of them. I was hoping that they would get better as I went along. Sadly, they were basically the same format boy meets girl, argue, kidnapping, sex, forgiveness, and back together again, The epilogue was a year later when they were on the planet and that’s where the story should’ve been what happened when they got there the struggles that or the women were involved in. How did they mesh with the new planet? How did they grow as individuals as a couple. Just because you have meet your soulmate, doesn’t make the relationship automatically fantastic. the author just missed the whole point of stories. it isn’t just about meeting someone and having sex, that is speed dating. so if that’s your thing, then you’ll like it. If you really want more of a story, I would search elsewhere
This will be the last book from this series I try. It was just as ridiculous as the last two with an added element of female stupidity. Maybe I’m overly cautious, but it seems unrealistic for a woman home alone to let a stranger into her house in the middle of the night, even if they claimed to have info on people important to me that I hadn’t heard from in a while. Then, having just met him and learned the basics of the situation, she agrees to go up to his ship, without telling anyone or knowing it’s location. I just could t get past this. I will try one more book of hers from another series before I decide to never read any of her books again.
Gwen filled out the dating sites questions the same time as her friends but was rejected because of her she. She's home worried about Maggie and Lisa when there is a knock on her door. Kash has gone against orders and come to Earth to assess the situation to find that Gwen is his true mate. On Out of things have gone well so they have received permission from the council to open trade agreements and be allowed to pair more of their men to human mates. Gwen has an infant girl and Maggie is pregnant and die in 4 months
Loved these two! One tough and scarred soldier and the other a book lover and baker. I was glad Kash chose to be nosey despite feeling he wasn't entitled. Gwen prooved she could hold her iwn and enjoyed her constant question to learn all she could. They made a wonderful pairing and even had some humorous moments. It was lovely to read their story as they came together despite the little hiccups. But they were so well suited. A great read and looking forward to the rest of this series. Can't read the next book as my stomach is telling me I need to eat! :)
Light, fun read but only slightly different than previous two, with no angst. I generally enjoyed these stories. I listened to books 1-3 in Vol. 1 audiobook & the narrator was easy to listen to & follow.
I was disappointed that the epilogue skipped ahead a year, giving no details of the women traveling to another planet, their views on it & meeting the King & Queen. Also glosses over how they convinced the council to open up to earth officials and how earth accepted the news of other life in the galaxy. Still, I will continue with Vol. 2.
She was having a terrible day. She not only lost the job she loved but her two best friends are missing. The last thing she expects is having this huge, sexy man knocking her door with information about the whereabouts of her missing friends. When she agreed to go with him, she didn't know her life would change for ever. It was a ok read with a good plot. When you think about aliens you dont expect them to look like human.
Keeping in mind I am reading these out of order… this is my favorite couple so far. They had instant chemistry. He didn’t really push her away like in the other stories. (Just for a minute, not running away in the woods serious.) I also like that we have a working man hero, not one of these rich or royal heroes. Our heroine is curvy and likes to bake. What is not to love? I like nice guys heroes better than jerks that have to redeem themselves. Which is why I liked Kash.
I am loving this series of books. This one was different in the story line so I was surprised. It keep my interest through the whole story. I like the characters and the interaction between them. Reading all the books isn't necessary but they are worth the read. each story goes in different directions but are interconnected and I enjoy that.
Loving this series all the authors have their own special creative touches for the Intergalactic Dating Series. The books in Tasha Black’s series are very much Novella’s that are fun sexy heartwarming and large turners. I do wish these stories were a bit longer with the stories continuing into the couples lives on their new planet home and the brides reactions to life there.
Kash is only in earth 's orbit as commander of the royal vessel. He wasn't supposed to go to earth. And he certainly wasn't allowed to bring a woman back to his ship. But she is his mate and torn between his orders and his heart he has to figure out which is more important for him...
You might ask why did I read 3 of them if I'm rating the books so poorly? I'll tell you why. They were 100 pages each, so all 3 made up just one book. All three stories were connected, so I wanted to see how it all worked out. There was a lot "I was so mad, but so attracted to him I couldn't hold on to it". Not the best writing in the world.
Gwen and Kash's story was one of honor loyalty and trust. Even after they both thought they were to old for love. Leave it to fate to throw them a curve ball. The only problem is this is the last one in this series. Ms. Hayes we need more.
The third and final part of Susan Hayes contribution to this series a three book series about three friends and the Aliens they fall in love with I enjoyed them all but to me this was the best because it wasn’t planned
This is Gwen and Kash's story. It is the third book in the series and should be read in order. Gwen is a little older than her friends and was rejected by the dating site. However, date is on her side and she meets Kash. Loved this book!
