The last in the Bittersweet legacy trilogy, this was an excellent story mainly based in the battlefields of ww1. All loose ends tied up nicely.

This is book three in the Bittersweet Legacy series, set during WW1. Olivia, or Livvie as her friends call her, has just attended her aunt's funeral. Now she must return to the frontline as she is a VAD, but first she must say goodbye to her friends and family and give them advice, as she always seems to. For such a young woman she has a lot on her shoulders, her cousins have just met their father, whom they had not seen for over ten years, Herbie Hunter has just materialized from the dead, what is he after and what is he hiding?
Olivia has now returned to St Omer Camp on the Western Front. She has two German prisoners to care for on the ward, are they as easy to care for as she first thought? After returning home for a spot of leave, Olivia spends most of it doing what she always does, caring for others more than herself but all the time she wants to return to the front to be as close to Lucas Black as she can. Before long she is back on the frontline and has volunteered to be transferred to a clearing station, which she knows will be even worse than where she is now, but Olivia is made of stern stuff and along with her friend Rose who is an ambulance driver, they put all they have into their work.
Full of drama, secrets and friendships between families and the troops serving in France, this book has it all and it's great to find out what happens to Olivia's family and the Keiver family back in London. I was truly sorry when I came to the end, this book kept my attention throughout, I loved it. A 5☆ read.

Fantastic reading again from Kay Brellend. I found it easy to get straight in to the story following on from the previous two books in the series. Looking forward to the next series. Keep up the good work.

4/5⭐️

I have given this book 4 out of 5 stars: I think if I had read the other two books in the trilogy I would’ve definitely given it five stars

This book really depicts the reconnected family, you would’ve thought that Olivia, Maggie and Nancy would’ve had a falling out but I think mistook their relationship as sisters.

Olivia and Lucas‘s relationship was really well written even though I hadn’t read the first two books in this trilogy I kind of figured out what their relationship was. Before Lucas was a very playboy kind of character in the last two books and that’s why that lead to Olivia marrying Joe. Lucas knew he wouldn’t be able to cope with his behaviour whilst being married to Olivia. In the third book whilst he’s in war he’s realised that he’s changed for the better and Olivia has also realised that and I think that’s why I really like the characters.

If you love a historical fiction and romance book that isn’t really emotional but also isn’t lighthearted and it’s in the middle this is a great book to read I would recommend to read the series I think it would’ve been a different experience but if you just like me randomly put the third book without knowing it’s part of a series it’s also okay but I think it’s recommended to read the whole series.

This appears to be third of a trilogy. Good on WW1 nursing. OK about poorer part of London. Was pulled into the narrative.

I did put it down to read something else.
