Siamo arrivati al fatidico giorno dell'inizio dei Cell Game, dopo una lunga preparazione fatta di tensione e paure, Goku e compagni decidono di risparmiare gli ultimi giorni per rilassarsi dopo tanto allenamento.
La sfida inizia e nello stesso momento fa il suo ingresso in campo una vecchia conoscenza del mondo di Dragon Ball, ovvero Mr. Satan, che si rivelerà essere moralmente l'ultima speranza del genere umano.
Le carte sono in tavola, e finalmente Goku rivela a tutti i suoi compagni quale è la sua strategia per sconfiggere il nemico venuto dal futuro, lasciando tutti senza parole.
La sfida inizia e nello stesso momento fa il suo ingresso in campo una vecchia conoscenza del mondo di Dragon Ball, ovvero Mr. Satan, che si rivelerà essere moralmente l'ultima speranza del genere umano.

Completely EXCELLENT!!! This has the full battle between Perfect Cell and Goku in the Cell Games and the beginning of Gohan's battle with Perfect Cell.

Kinda makes too much sense Goodreads only has Spanish and Italian versions of this volume rather than the Japanese original....
The Cell Game begins in earnest, after a few more chapters of set-up. Much of this volume covers the initial battle between Son Goku and Cell, before Goku steps aside to reveal his master plan: letting his son get his ass beat by a monster so he'll get angry enough to power up further!

*Vegeta: "Piccolo, if you're in a damn hurry to use the room, use it! There are other people waiting to use it, you know!" Treating the RoSaT like a toilet!
*Chi-chi: "Ya look like a delinquent!" Bleached yankii Gohan!
*Full Power Super Saiyan Goku chilling at a picnic with his family in that nice jacket!
*the Royal Army tries to attack Cell, reminding us there still is a king, who is still a dog-person! Also, the "KG" logo ("King's Guard"?) on their uniforms is the same as the resistance against Zamasu in Dragon Ball Super, which saved me having to Google what the fuck that was about (lol). Also, the king recognizes Goku and Piccolo from their tournament days, which was neat.
*Dende is brought on as the new God!
*Mr. Satan is introduced to the series, being another display of the wide gulf between the ordinary citizenry and the Z-Fighters! Son Goku and friends haven't fought in a martial arts tournament since the defeat of "Ma Junior," so Mr. Satan has had the opportunity to make a name for himself, assuming he's just fighting weaklings like Giran and Bacterian every Budokai.
*Son Gohan: "All he did was tell me to look forward to it." Goku's secret plan to psychologically abuse his son!
*Cell: "How boring! Maybe 9 days was too much of a wait." While everyone is training, Cell is standing in the center of his arena the entire time :P
*Kuririn: "We still can't bring back those who died before." A hiccup in the revival of the Dragon Balls will inadvertently allow Goku to become Super Saiyan 3 later on!
*Roshi: "I hope he doesn't make it out alive..." Everyone wishing for the obnoxious Mr. Satan to get killed by Cell! See also, Kuririn's "To tell you the truth, I was rooting for Cell for a minute."
*No. 16's ghetto Capsule Corp. logo patch covering his Red Ribbon logo!
*totally forgot Tenshinhan decided to wear a white tee to the Cell Game, as seen on the cover for Chapter 395
*mastered Super Saiyans can stay in the form while in their calm everyday state, but regain a visible aura when charging back up to Full Power
*Cell's "Holy shi..." in the translation I'm reading, when faced with Goku's point-blank Warp Kamehame-Ha
**Cell's fucked-up face as the above attack starts eroding the top half of his body!
*Cell displaying a bigger, purpler energy field move
*Bejita: "It pisses me off to say this, but I admire him. I trained as hard as I can, but I could never surpass Kakarrot. He's a genius!" Prince of COPE figuratively KNEELing before GODku!
*Goku: "He's been fighting with us since he was a little boy." I never really paid much attention to Kid Gohan earlier in the series, as he mostly existed to fill in narrative gaps between Vegeta and Goku doing cool shit, but it's definitely true he was always exposed to much stronger foes than Goku was at a similar age, especially since at this point in time Gohan is about the same age as in Goku's second World Tournament appearance.
*Goku giving a Senzu to Cell for his match against Gohan
*Gohan's craned neck in Chapter 404 forming the basis for 90% of Toyotarou's artwork in his Super manga....
*Cell: "Oh, but this fight does have a meaning! I'm having fun, while you are trying to save the earth!"
