Brogan loves Cade, he does; he just doesn’t like being an Omega. He’s assimilating, but he’ll never be the perfect Omega that society demands. After a year of hell, he’s still attempting to reconcile who he was with who he is now and the answers aren’t easy. Especially when Brogan spends his free time dreaming of subjugating his Alpha and have Cade bend to his will.
While everyone says that he should give up on Brogan, Cade’s heart won’t let him. This transition from Alpha to Omega hasn’t been easy but it couldn’t with Brogan fighting the change at every turn. Cade comes up with a plan to make things easier for his mate but is it too little too late?
This is a continuation of Brogan’s story From Alpha to Omega. This is not a stand alone book, part one should be read first.
In the first book Brogan & Cade meet and realize they are true mates. The problem? They're both Alpha's. Which means only one of them can come out on top and remain an Alpha and the other will turn into an Omega once dominance is established.
This book is a continuation of the first book in the series. The MC's are still trying to adjust to their relationship and still trying to come to an understanding of how that relationship will work. There are repeated misunderstandings and insecurities by both Brogan and Cade. It's kind of a one step forward and three steps back. (In fact if I remember correctly the author uses that phrase in the book.)
Jaden and Jackson make a reappearance among the rest of the crew from book one. For those who truly wanted to see karma bite Jaden in the ass for all he did to Brogan in book one... believe me he loses a butt cheek (metaphorically) and I laughed hysterically. Because face it people... He TRULY deserved it. Jackson is still sweet as can be and finds romance himself.
While I have no dislikes in this book Eric's storyline is the most heartbreaking. He does get a somewhat happy ending, but he deserved a much happier ending than that.
In a lot of ways I actually liked this book even better than the first. However I did give both 5 stars so I can't exactly do better than that.
**This is not a stand-alone book. To get the maximum enjoyment and understanding of their history together and the world-building 'From Alpha To Omega' needs to be read first.
Rereading this it feels like punishment for not having adjusted fast enough, then blaming this lack of adjustment on who he is rather than who he was and who he is trying to be. You can have a redemption without constantly punishing a character after all the traumatic things that happened during the first book. Because yes he did get rid of the baby but he was from my understanding was dealing with a drastic shift in life his access to most thing suddenly limited, control of his life taken, the way he was raised isn't an excuse for who he was and the things he did. Though it is important to note how his childhood and how his mother was treated would impact him and how he views himself and to not acknowledge that and to then on top of that add the pressure from his father an individual that carries a lot of weight in his life pressuring him into getting rid of a baby he wasn't completely set on ( tho he did seem to be warming to the idea) and a fresh sexual assult. I find the way this book didn't deal with or handle any of the truamas and fall out for him mentally, then blames him just being a bad person ( this is how it came across with all of the “ I'm not you’s. Or something you would do’s”) for the reasonable doubts and anxieties and fear surrounding his relationship is horrifying. It also negates the idea that bad and misguided people are allowed the chance to be better and are deserving of little to no empathy for suffering and should suffer more. I did in fact enjoy this read it was good and will be on my read again list, but these issues leave a bitter taste in my mouth. Like sure the ending is happy but this character has also suffered a lot and of this we have no healing so how we'll are they really?
I look forward to reading more though they really are pretty good books.
I absolutely love the journey Brogan and Cade went through for their much deserved HEA. Brogan was finally able to be happy in his new life, secure that Cade loves him exactly as he is. Cade was finally able to let go of his anger and hurt over Brogan's past actions. This was a beautiful story of redemption and repairing relationships.
4 stars. This book is better than the first one for me, here the society faults are worked out and it brings new hope for the omegas but still the MCs are not likeable enough and all the omegas thrown at their house were not helping with their situation, at least the new pregnancy went well and it was good to read about it.
I totally enjoyed the story. Just a few comments about what I would have enjoyed if it had been added. These are just comments and do not detract from my enjoyment of the story.
It would have been nice to have the main characters find out they were having twins and what their reactions were. The interaction between them once they knew about the twins and how Brogan felt as he started showing more and more, both at work and with Cade. What was the sex like once Brogan was big? Some women are hesitant once they truly are showing so just wondering how the author would have handled that aspect of pregnancy. How did the labor go? What was both Cade's and Brogan's reactions when they first saw their children?
Like I stated before, I totally enjoyed the story. I just believe that what I commented would have enriched the story. Again, I did enjoy the story and have read it several time, both books.
