From the first moment they met, Tanner McCreary and Fitz Walker have always had a love-hate relationship. One that bordered more on the latter, much to the chagrin of Tanner—who knew from first glance that Fitz was his alpha. For some reason, Fitz acted like he wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. Even with the scent masking drug, Scentex, keeping them free, an omega’s alphas always seemed to sense something in the air when close.

But that wasn’t the case with Fitz.

So Tanner backed off, licked his wounds, and figured fate would lead them back together someday. Maybe then things would be different.

Someday came, but only made the situation worse. Tanner learned they shared a close friend in common—another omega—one Fitz eventually bedded. Brokenhearted, Tanner was sure the gods, fate, or whoever was in charge of binding an alpha and an omega together had gotten it very, very wrong.

His mate wasn’t the one apparently. Tanner lied to himself, saying he didn’t care, and kept his secret close. When the truth finally emerges, Fitz knows he has mountains to climb to make things right, and even that might not be enough.

This was a heartbreaking story and I just felt Tanner was a side note for his alpha Fitz. 😥
I understand that the author had to give us readers a history of Tanner, Fitz and Bellamy but I was beginning to think it was Bellamy's book all over again except with Fitz as the alpha.
It was heartbreaking how badly Tanner was treated that it made me ache inside for him, I never even got frustrated with Tanner for keeping his secret after all the history and abuse he took. When Fitz figured out Tanner was his true mate I would have liked to read about more tender moments instead of just rutting (word used in book 😉) even when Tanner went off the scent blockers Fitz never described how he truly smelled to him. I just felt Tanner got the shaft, his alpha in a sense got taken from him and his whole work projects got destroyed because some crazy beta was try to get revenge on Bellamy so again Tanner got screwed. Fitz did make up for his work getting destroyed but that was the only good point that was I truly happy with. Tanner was a wonderful and caring person and always thought of everyone else and wasn't the spoil rich omega Fitz accused him of.
This was a great read but I just wish Fitz did some serious groveling and Bellamy was there in every chapter and Fitz wasn't always looking at him with regret and longing. 😡

My body and soul weren't ready for the greatness this will bring. I thought it was going to be some light and dramatic story, like the first one, between an alpha and omega who can't seem to stand each other. And everything went up in flames when things started to get clearer as I read on. There were a lot of flashbacks that made the present puzzles to finally click. This was one big rollercoaster of tension, high angst, and heart breaks. I love Tanner and Fitz but more on Tanner. He was okay-ish in the first one but holy shit he was so much better in this. There were moments that I was leaning more on Fitz's side but when I learned everything I immediately switch to Team Tanner. This story is like the mother of all slow burns and it's worth it in the end.

Seeing every alpha ADORE the fuck out of their omega but yours can't stand you? Poor Tanner. My heart hurt for him.

"The way Fitz acts around me. He loathes me. Who knows if he'd even believe me. Even if he believed it, who knows if he'd even accept me." Baby😩😩😩😩

Watching him fall in love with your FRIEND? Yikes. And not telling either so that at least you could be near him in some way, in the hope that maybe, maybe something would spark in him for you? And it never happened? Lol Tanner is God's strongest soldier because I could neverrrr. Sadomasochistic fr.

I get him wanting his alpha to sense him without interference the way others sense theirs. I get it. But yeeish. Sucks to be Tanner.

Ordinarily I'd hate keeping secrets when an MC could just tell the truth, but in this instance, I absolutely get why Tanner kept this one. It got to a point where there was so much hurt between them that Fitz didn't deserve the truth. Not from him, at least.

"I don't need you."
Again, and again, and again. I wanted to cry so much for Tanner.

"I've been so terrible to him, Bell. And.....after what we did? There might be no going back."
He walked in on them? Christ. Tanner, man. He deserves to be put in bubble wrap and kept far the fuck away from Fitz. Jesus.

Fitz deserves ALL the lashings and then some.

He called Tanner's art shitty. He fucked his best friend. He denigrated him each and every chance they met for six YEARS, guys.

Honestly, I'm surprised it took him this long to totally shut down. It was a looooong time coming. You can only take so many hits.

"You're a terrible person. A terrible alpha. You pushed me away. You made me feel small and insignificant. You hurt me over, and over, and over again. Seeing you with Bellamy, it broke me inside. And I don't know if I can let go of the things I saw, the things you said, the pain I feel."

Whack this MF over and over again. Idc about the reason why he didn't sense it, Fitz had ABSOLUTELY no reason for how much of a dick he was to Tanner.

Honestly if this wasn't a romance, I'd NEVERRRRRR want this guy to get forgiven. There's things once you break you can never really fix. And let me tell you, this man broke Tanner.

The audacity of this BITCH to say their fights were all foreplay. He was calling Tanner everythingggggg but a child of God and is now rewriting history to make it seem like harmless banter. Shit like this is why I don't believe in unearned forgiveness and books with the fated mates trope are always victims of this. 🚮🚮🚮

The fact that Tanner told him that before he met Fitz, his art was where he went to find himself and after all their interactions, art became where he went to hide his pain? How do you forgive this level of hurt because this man says 'Give me a chance, I won't drop you?"

WHAT?! Tanner stayed giving this man chances. And Fitz used each and every one to stab him in the heart, and when he didn't? He'd twist the knife from a previously given stab. I swear to God my ears are STEAMING from this fuckery. There's no bloody way.

Fitz was so careless with Tanner. Picture every way in which the love of your life can treat you without care. Fitz did that shit and then some.

And this shit is EXACTLY why Tanner is still scared to ask about things that were important to him, like about pregnancy. And Fitz was scared to bring up marriage. These two got caught up in the happy chemicals and forgot that they didn't do any work to lay the foundation for a healthy relationship.

They have a really heavy past and they're both too scared to peek behind the veil but I don't know if there's genuinely any lasting happiness for them if they don't deal with it.

Also, fuck buying a building. It's not nearly close to enough for all the things Fitz did wrong in this one. This book deserved a grovel of epic proportions. And not having that honestly stopped it from being the exquisite beautiful mess it could have been.

I feel like the author betrayed Tanner a bit because the Tanner we got to know and love for 80% of this book would never have taken Fitz into his regard, his heart, his body without a more compelling reason than 'because he's my alpha'.

Our Tanner saw the dick Fitz was 6 years prior and noped tf out of that. So for him to go back there just because was a bit of a let down.

Anyway. At the very least, Tanner has a lifetime's worth of passive aggressiveness to call on whenever he wants for the rest of their lives and if he doesn't use it, he's a better person than I could ever be.

I stayed up reading well past my bedtime last night. The tension and hurt between the MCs was just too damn delicious to put this down any sooner…

“I know you feel lost. But there are too many people who care about you to leave you drifting in this sadness. And while I know it’s unbelievable, I’m one of those people, even if you don’t want me to be. So scream. Cry. Tell me you hate me. Tell me to go fuck myself. I have broad shoulders, and I can take a whole lot worse than whatever you can dish out.”

In the end, tho, I was rather disappointed.

Yes, a bit, because this was surprisingly low heat, but it kinda fit the story. No, it wasn’t that. What really bugged me were two things.

First and foremost, Fitz’s (A) and Tanner’s (o) love story didn’t feel genuine. It came down to them and their feelings being solely lead by Alpha/omega pheromones and their mating bond. I wasn’t believing the I-love-you’s one bit.

And second, the author should’ve focused more on the romance itself. It would’ve added to the intensity. But instead the tension was broken up constantly by unnecessary talk about stuff that wasn’t important or interesting. Like rehashing a lot of the Book #1’s story. So you def can’t read them out of order, you would be spoilered beyond belief.

Anyway, I was skimming a lot. And while I was initially drawn to book #3 in this series I’m already too aware of these guys’ troubles and the page-count is already too high I can only assume it’s packed with filler to the brim, too. Not sure, I’m still intrigued enough to want to read it. We’ll see…

aaa the angst here is just *chef kiss*

such a good read even tho it hurts more than joy.

but.. i'm so disappointed that we dont see Fitz earning or making an effort for Tanner! i didn't feel his love for Tanner at all, other than "he's my mate thats why." so bumped about it, i'm so unsettled. i also wanna see Bellamy regretting and apologising, and idk, somehow making it up with Tanner?? Tanner deserves more..

also the timeline is kinda confusing (for me atleast)

So I really gave this my all, because I was excited to see a new book by this author but, ultimately, this didn't work for me. I really hate 'misunderstanding' tropes that drag a book on and on and on. Technically, this wasn't so much a misunderstanding as it was Tanner withholding information that Fitz was his mate, which was understandable at 30% and possibly 50 but not 70. I get it, I just needed it resolved already. The book was too long. The time hops were interesting at first and then got distracting. By the time I got to 75% I didn't really like anyone in this book, including my darling Bellamy from Book 1, and was ready to be done with all of them. Everybody was just getting on my nerves. As always, this author has an immense imagination, and the idea that an alpha felt uncontrollable anger towards an omega was intriguing, especially since we knew the omega to be his mate. The explanation of the why was great, but the part about why he was initially attracted to Bellamy felt trite. I have literally never read a resolution to a problem by this author and felt 'Oh come on, really?' This time I did.

It took so long for Tanner and Fitz to get it together, especially with Tanner being given so many opportunities to come clean once Fitz started trying to make amends that, by the time they got things resolved, I felt literally nothing for this couple. I had zero interest in reading their love scenes, and I eventually bailed at 84%. I literally couldn't go on. Really I understood Tanner's predicament. No one wants to feel second best, or get involved with an alpha who can't seem to stand the sight of them, but I think he would have worked in a shorter story. The length of this, and the overlong history and detail, gave the reader too much time to begin to lose empathy especially once a) Tanner knew the WHY, b) everyone else could see there was something between him and Fitz, and c) Fitz was trying even as Tanner continued to be a jerk to him. Nope. Pass.on.that.

I liked this story, but I didn't love it. Honestly, as the story progressed my heart ached for Tanner he really got shafted in this book. Kelex spent too much time rehashing the past that by the time we got to present day there was maybe 30% of the book left, which - in my opinion - was not enough time for Fitz to grovel at Tanner's feet.

So the first 60% of this story is mostly flashbacks, Tanner's first meeting Fitz and Fitz instantly being angry and rejecting him; then the flashes continue on for the next 6 years till present day. It was just Fitz saying the absolute worst and most hateful things to Tanner while Tanner would try to dish it back but he ached and his heart broke. Then there was the whole Fitz is in love with Bellamy thing and honestly it was too much and in the end, I don't think Fitz deserved Tanner. Especially when it is all revealed that Tanner was letting Bellamy borrow his clothes (which is why Fitz was even drawn to him to begin with) and Tanner offered to send Bellamy somewhere to come off his meds so the whole friends-with-benefits thing never should have happened.

I think this goes a lot back to Bellamy's pride and honestly I don't think Bellamy was remorseful enough for how he treated Tanner. Whether he new or not, he was not apologetic enough for essentially stealing Tanner's alpha. Then there was a secondary plot of an arson occurring and I am confused as to why it was even added in the story considering Kelex threw it in there and then there was zero closure on it. So that just added to my frustration.

The last 20% was literally Tanner magically forgiving Fitz, Fitz feeling guilty for being forgiven (AS HE SHOULD)....and them f*ckin into the sunset. Tanner deserved more...and that is all I am going to say. Oh and I will probably read the next book if one comes out.

Ohhh....all the angst!! 😍

This was like 70% angst and I loved it!! It wasn’t soul crushing angst but the good kind of angst, at least to me, ya know? 😉

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Tanner heartbroken and crushed. Does that make me a sadist then? 🤔 Anyways, that’s hardly the point. The tension between Fitz and Tanner was palpable and on the surface and also in your face that it was like a separate entity that reared its ugly head whenever the two of them were in each other’s general vicinity and gosh, does it crush Tanner each and every time. It was great! 🙊

I wasn’t sure how Kelex would reconcile the two mates because while the tension was painfully beautiful, I honestly didn’t know how she was going to fix it after six years?!? But gosh, it was done really well. Kudos!! 👏👏👏👏👏

I enjoyed this thoroughly! Read it all the way through the night even though I was coughing up a lung and should probably have gone to bed early to “rest” but pfft....nothing comes in the way of a good book. Am I right or am I right?? 👻

I love this universe and can’t wait to be back in it! Hopefully sometime soon 🤞

One Wild Omega
By Kelex

Omega Tanner has known who his Alpha is for years now. He also knows Fitz has hated him from the moment they first met.

When his friend, Bellamy, develops a friendship with benefits with Fitz, Tanner is even more heartbroken. Not only does his Alpha hate him, but now he has to deal with the fact that Fitz not only helps Bellamy through his heats, but has also fallen in love with him and is convinced Bellamy is his fated mate.

This book was really hard to read at times because the anguish feels so real. I admit I cried through a lot of it. Even though Tanner has his faults too I absolutely love him to bits. Once there wasn’t so much animosity between them I started to like Fitz better little by little.

This is one of my favorite omegaverse books and omegaverse authors too.

I'm such a huge fan of this author and her stories. I've loved her take on ABO omegaverse, and was so happy to see she was working on Tanner and Fitz's story for us next. They had such a fiery connection in the first book, and in this book we really get to see everything that has affected their relationship from the very start to the present.

I loved the explanation for why Fitz acted the way he would around Tanner, and even though I wish there had been a resolution maybe a little bit earlier in the book, it all flowed naturally and still made sense for me as a reader.

Can't wait for the next book in this spin-off series AND to finally get Avery's story!!

Love this series 😊

This one was a hard one for me to rate. See, I loved all the angst and flashbacks in the book. Did we know about Bell and Fitz’s past...yes we did, but not in detail. We didn’t know why Tanner did what he did. IMO, the writer did a wonderful job here; she made me feel what Tanner was feeling and helped me try to understand his actions.

Unfortunately, what killed it for me was from 80% on. See, a lot of this book is them being apart, and I felt how quickly they came together was too quick even without the Scentex. For as many years of hurt between them, the author should have taken a bit more time here. Just a my opinion :)

This follows directly from the first book and should be read in order. This is a kind of enemies to lovers via misunderstanding or lack of communication, but Fitz and Tanner really fight the bond here - knowingly or not. These two don't get together until about 80% of the book so be prepared. There was some real emotion here and I really felt for Tanner.

I didn't love the flashbacks. There were just too many and they disrupted the flow for me. The ending is very abrupt. I assume it will be continued in the next book, but it did bother me. Finally, this book really needs to be proofread. Too many misused words and phrases and just poor editing.

While I love a good slow burn and this book definitely delivered on that front, I was disappointed by the story :( My main issue is that Fitz is in love with Bellamy for too long!!! Bellamy is talked about constantly in this story to the point where I was like ok who cares, its Tanner time!!! It made me feel like Tanner was a consolation prize :( I did really like them together once Fitz fully accepted that Bellamy was just his friend but I wish we could have spent more relationship-building time that didn't involve Fitz thinking about Bellamy.

A delightful mix of unrequited love and angst, two of my favourite things in romance. I'd rate it with 4 stars because of the limited scenes between the two MCs, but had to round up to 5 because of how fast I read it; it's been ages since I last read a book I couldn't put down.

This book was a bit of a disappointment to me. The central issue of realizing one's mate took up most of the book instead of being resolved early enough for further plot development. There were a lot of unhappy, painful flashbacks. The reader will be taken on a ride with very little joy until perhaps the last 20% or so, with a lot of bickering and bad feelings before that. Tanner and Fitz do get their HEA, but there is very little build of the relationship, passion, and romance before the final resolution chapters. I've read all of the other books in the eastern and western provinces series and this was my least favorite. I like some more romance in my romance novels. I will try another one when released and hope for better.

3.5 stars! i liked this one way more than the last thank god, needed a redemption. of course i clocked that i was going to like tanner the most so it made sense. started off with a bang which is always a good sign. Tanner is so rambunctious and the handjob right in the prologue set him up to be such a spicy guy. The back and forth from past to present made a lot of sense in this book even if it was a little hard to catch up with sometimes. Tanner is gods strongest soldier fr. I cant even imagine what it would feel like to see your alpha be in love with your best friend AND THEN WALK IN ON THEM MATING ID KMS RIGHT THERE. also this going on for such a long span of time. i like how over OQ and this series you can kind of sense the span of time by background information. Like how in OQ they mention scentex and heatex being legal in the western provinces but still not well studied and then it jumps to this series where its legal and used but there is still research being done on its effects. So terrifying the reaction it caused to Fitz, like uncontrollably hating your true love. I didn't like the miscommunication or like withholding information, just spit it out already Tanner. Stupid charles is such a stupid villain, i dont give a fuck about you. We find out he maybe burned the building down but that was all that happened so im guessing he'll come back up in the next book but he's just stupid and a loser. the public sex thing was fun to read but mentioning how "wild" Tanner is the whole time and even saying he has bdsm books and that was the only thing that happened was a let down. I like this ceremony with the body paint happening, i guess its a tradition in the western provinces and i thought it was so beautiful. Them having triplets is fucking crazy let me be clear. I think the relation with Fitz' alpha brother Harrison and his beta partner was really interesting, especially because it was brought up a lot. I wonder if the next book will be about them. There wouldn't be heats/ruts and pregnancy so I doubt it.

Quotes:
- "Fitz' hand crawled up his back and grew tangled in his hair. Dragging him closer, Fitz took what was his without even knowing it." '
- ' "As long as I get to make you mine in the eyes of the law, then I'm good with whatever name you take." "I'm already yours in the eyes of our gods. You're my alpha, forever and always." '

One Wild Omega is the second in the Alphas of the Western Provinces series. It helps to have read the first book One Wild Heat to get the full story to this one. Tanner met Fitz on his twenty-first birthday and realized right away that Fitz was his fated mate. But because of the Scentex blocking his scent, Fitz did not realize it. Scentex gave Fitz a negative/abusive reaction to Tanner.

The story flows between the past and present. There is miscommunication, mainly Tanner not informing Fitz of who he is to Tanner. This is a slow burn. It takes until about 70-75% of the book for them to finally get their poop in a group and Fitz realizes how much he’s unintentionally hurt Tanner. I was honestly mad a Tanner for not telling Fitz who he was to him. So many hurts could have been avoided.

Overall, this is a fantastic read. Well written with addicting pacing. I could not stop reading and had to know how this ended.

The enemies to lovers and banter thing was really working for me, but by about 75% even I was banging my head off the wall in frustration with Tanner. He got the shit end of the stick for sure, and I sympathized for a long time, but it was a little much. I wish we’d had more time with them as a couple instead of rushing to wrap things up, but it was still a good read.

I'm not a fan of the big misunderstanding trope and really the whole plot of this book was based one one big misunderstanding. Add in the fact that Fitz wasn't likeable for most of the book and I didn't really like much of the story. The author did manage to explain his behavior but by then the damage was done.

Beware of Whiplash

The premise is interesting: Tanner is an independent Omega, an artist with his own friends and plans in life. But life gets seriously out of whack when he meets his alpha, Fitz. Fitz hates Tanner on sight. Something about the bold, messy Omega just rubs him the wrong way. When their lives get entangled, everything goes from bad to worse.

This was an intense ride. I really felt for Tanner who kept his secret through it all, even when . Well over half of the book was spent on developing the antagonistic relationship between Tanner and Fitz. It was intense and riveting and I was really wondering how the author would turn it around in the end. Well, she didn’t. There was an underwhelming reveal and then everything was fine. Just like that. We went from cruising emotionally troubled waters to smooth sailing in a matter of a few words. What a let-down.

To be specific: I liked the reason that was given for Fitz’s reaction, namely However, that does not undo the pain Tanner suffered. I wanted Tanner to get recompensation and satisfaction. It doesn’t matter that Fitz had a reason. There needed to me more groveling, more emotional healing, just more conflict resolution. Overall, the ending completely destroyed the story for me.

This is one of my anticipated books for the 2nd half of this year. I read the first book of this series and was immediately drawn to Tanner's character, so imagine my happiness when I learned that this book will be releasing on friday! So in preparation for that, I re-read the first book. Umm, that might not be such a good idea? Because now, everything is really fresh in my mind. Let's see- Fitz' I love yousss to Bellamy (as in 3-4 times!), getting drunk and getting jealous because of Bellamy, bringing Bellamy's favorite food, seeing Bellamy for that last ditch effort to see if he was needed for that time of the month, calling Tanner shallow and self-absorbed, etc (oh why, why did I re-read it?? :( ) I truly hope that there is another Alpha vying for Tanner's attention, I want Fitz to see Tanner kissing another Alpha and go crazy with jealousy! I want him to bleed and cry some bloody tears! I want him to be brokenhearted too! Like really really brokenhearted and hopeless! (okay okay, deep breath) But despite all that I said, I crave for their HEA:) I just want Fitz to really prove himself (and for Tanner to not give in right away, please don't!) though the mention of mountains to climb in the blurb made me grin evilly that it's not going to be easy, hah! And although Kelex is a new to me author, I'm not new with MPreg and Omegaverse. I quite love the world so I have certain expectations already. I'll just hope for the best! Friday can't come soon enough.

Ok it was a good book as far as writing, emotion, it really pulls you in, etc. But my God I just couldn't take it anymore. The Alpha & Omega have known each other for 6 years. We find out all the ways the Alpha has hurt his Omega as flashbacks over the previous 6 years. And Oh. My. God. it is HORRENDOUS. And after about 80% of the book, the Alpha just kind of says that stupid thing men say: "I don't deserve forgiveness, but I hope you'll forgive me, let's go fuck in the shower." I mean, I think the groveling was nothing compared to the amount of pain this Omega had gone through. Since the groveling happened at the very, very end. I didn't really want them to get together. Okay

Another thing is, they actually barely know each other and wouldn't have any contact with each other, except they have a mutual acquaintance. So the book is mostly separation. Which is not my favorite theme. It's 70-80% separation.

I KNEW from the last book that this book would be a train wreck and I was right. I DNFed at 24% because this book was insufferable.

One thing I HATE is when an author over-glorifies a character and makes them the focus of the book when they aren’t even a main character in the story. The author did that with Bellamy and it ruined this book.

Another thing that ruined this story was Tanner still pining after Fitz even though he knew Fitz slept with his best friend MULTIPLE TIMES. All of it could have been avoided if Tanner just told Fitz the truth years prior. I hate unnecessary angst and this book had it in strides.

Not to mention, all of the time jumping back to back is so frustrating. The past could’ve been wrapped up in 1 chapter but the author decided to keep jumping back and forth. That kind of writing can be good and interesting IF it’s done right, but Kelex does not have the skill to pull it off.

I’m so glad I didn’t spend money on this book and I can send it back to the kindle library. I will never read another piece of work written by this author.
