Though it had a good ending, the book did drag at times. The last of three Captain Zero stories about Lee Allyn who at midnight becomes invisible, whether he likes it or not. A man is framed for murder and forced to help a gang steal securities. Eight old men make a will so the last one alive collects half a million dollars, then three of them die in quick succession. The bad guy gets a Geiger Counter which can detect Captain Zero's gamma emissions and could reveal his secret identity. Lee Allyn is kidnapped. Later Doro Kelly (another reporter on the same newspaper) is kidnapped. Who is the man in black? What is behind the mysteries?
