Foundations of Faith: Reflections on the 39 Articles

Rate this book
A stellar cast of Anglican pastors and theologians from around the world reflect on the foundational teachings of global Anglicanism. Putting the Thirty-nine Articles in their biblical and historical context, they navigate some of the difficult terrain with clear and compelling application for today. Each article is preceded by a Bible text with study and reflection questions. The article is stated, and commented upon in a short article. There then follow discussion questions and a suggested prayer. This book is a great resource for churches to use as a study guide to reflect on the foundational articles of the Anglican church.

A great book of Reflections on the 39 Articles.

Read with my mentor. I loved the format of Scripture, an Article, and explanation of the article, 3 questions provoking discussion and a prayer.

I hope to become more confessional and reading the 39 Articles definitely helped me to see the value in it!! It also challenged me to have stronger convictions and to be able to articulate why I disagreed with certain articles.

I think it will be a very good book to dip into now and again!

An excellent exposition of the 39 Articles of Religion, this compilation helps the reader understand both the historical context in which it was written and the application for today. Each article is tied to Scripture, each article is accompanied by questions to foster deeper understanding, and each chapter ends with a prayer, so this book serves very well as both study aid and devotional.
